Though the afternoon breeze was calm and the sky was cloudless, Yuuma could feel the faint difference in the air. It wasn't the quaint chill of the winter months, nor was it the gentle warmth of summers past, but an ominous dread which crept along his back and sat its wicked claws upon his shoulders. It was an eery damnation—a malevolence that could not be denied; that would not be denied. It swelled upon him moments after leaving the Tsuchikage's office, and followed him as he left the village gates, heading towards the small town where the prisoners were last sighted.

The malignant wind ebbed to and fro as the Jounin leaped across the scattered rocks and toppled trees, his figure fading to a blur several times as he stowed himself across the horizon. It clung to him as the village became a silhouette behind him, and embraced him as the outline of several small buildings poked from the distance before him.

Yuuma slowed his pace, and though he did not come to a complete halt, his advance on the town suffered greatly. From his current distance, the man felt it best to gather his thoughts and assess the situation; it was best to do this now, he figured, than try to scrap together a plan were an ambush awaiting him in the town's poorly lit alleyways.

Mission info: There’s been a prison break! All over the village, across the country, within the inner cities the men who have escaped have begun to take refuge amongst it all. They know their time is running short so they have banded together in order to increase their chances against any opposing them. The tsuchikage has made this a mission and although considering it is one of high difficulty do not fret to go at it alone.
Special Info: Can be repeated indefinitely.

As was expected, an ambush awaited the shinobi; no sooner had he stepped into the darkness of the nearest alleyway would a myriad of kunai dislodge themselves from nearby fixtures. The blades themselves were ebon, and as such, blended stealthily with the shadows. The trap itself, on the other hand, was crude, and moaned in agony under the Hyuuga's weight.

In an instant Yuuma's eyes grew wide, and several veins rushed to the surface; the soft lavender tint which filled his irises faided, and absolute white flooded his pupils as the Byakugan came to life. The Jounin stepped forward, bringing his right foot ahead and twisting his body, and flung his hands artfully through the sky, guiding his body in a rapid pirouette while simultaneously expunging himself of a sudden gush of chakra.

The repulsion deflected the kunai, and as the weapons fell lifelessly to the pavement, the Jounin charged forward, a faint chakra in the distance catching his eye. Presumably spooked, the chakra's owner began to flee—Yuuma gave pursuit, the thought that another ambush lie in wait at the top of his mind.

His eyes would not blink; the veins at his temples would not recede. The Byakugan would remain active, and as such, the Hyuuga would become aware of the chakra approaching him from behind. He was being flanked, though those behind him did not possess anything that brought him great alarm.

Ahead, the alleyway spilled into a large, open area. This was the most likely spot for several of the prisoners to band together and attack him; however, this was also an area that allowed Yuuma plenty of space for his Taijutsu.

Byakugan (All Seeing White Eye)
Special: When first unlocked, the Hyuuga may see up to 50 meters 359 degrees all around them.
Description: As its name implies, the Byakugan is just that, a featureless white eye that can occasioanlly posses hints of blue-gray and lavender, respectively. When the Byakugan is activated, the user's pupils become more distinct, and the veins near their temples bulge, representing the sudden chakra activation that makes the doujutsu possible. All members of the clan possess and can use the kekkei genkai from birth, as opposed to needing to awaken it. Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. With this vision, the Hyuuga can see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person, and can be improved. Finally, one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow as well as the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail. It is from this particular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style - the Gentle Fist.

Description: Like many of the Jyuuken techniques, Kaiten is a special technique passed down through the main family line. Kaiten takes advantage of several of the unique abilities of the Byakugan eye, including an almost complete 360 degree view of their surroundings, so that the member to see all angles around them. As such, if an attack is near, the clan member will release a large of amount of chakra from their tenketsu and, simultaneous to the release, begins to spin like a top, creating a whirling vortex that can nullify almost any attack. Said to be a Hyuuga's ultimate defense.

It was a good plan; the prisoners wished to take advantage of the light which flooded into the open area, hoping that the light would overwhelm and blind the chasing shinobi, allowing those waiting at either side to easily surround and eliminate him. While the light would indeed blind Yuuma for a few brief seconds, the plan itself would fail; with the Byakugan, he had seen the trap long before the light stole his sense of sight. He had prepared himself for their assault well before storming from the shadows. As was expected of a shinobi baring the rank of Jounin, Yuuma was prepared for the flanking assault, and repelled it with easy. Chakra exploded from his tenketsu, pushing his assailants away and buying him several precious moments to allow his eyes to adjust to the change in lighting.

Beneath him, visible only to the Jounin, was an illuminated field of radiance which took the shape of a yin-yang symbol with several outlying circles and various etched kanji. The Hakke Shouhen expanded 5 meters in every direction, placing each of the shinobi's six opponent's well within its domain. Each of them would stand, unaware of the field; their faces were scarred with rage, and their hands took hold of whatever makeshift weapon they could find, be it splintered wood or rusted metal.

"Come," the Iwa Ninja beckoned, lowering his stance and extending his right arm behind him, his index and middle finger pointing to the heavens. His left arm bent before him, its fingers in a similar position, but the arm itself closer to his body. The harbinger's white eye befell each of the men, though it appeared to stare forward blankly.

Description: The basis of all Gentle Fist techniques relies on the opponent entering the Hakke, or Eight Divination Signs field. Visible only to the user, this circular area is represented by a ying-yang symbol and other clan variations appearing below the opponent they are targeting. With intense training, the Hyuuga will be able to extend their Hakke, thus furthering their reach with all techniques that are executed in conjunction with the field.

The first prisoner came from his left, at the ten o'clock position. He was a thin man whose strength was deceptive—he held a large metal pipe over his head like a sword. As he came within five feet of the Hyuuga, he swung the pipe downwards, shouting brazenly at the top of his lungs, perhaps hoping to intimidate or alarm the Jounin whose demonic white gaze knew nothing but apathy.

The shinobi seized the pipe with his left hand; next, he shifted his weight, stepping out on his right foot while simultaneously thrusting his right arm down and then frontwards, squarely striking the man in his chest. The resulting shock caused the man's grip to loosen, and as he stumbled back and fell to the ground heaving for air, the pipe was pulled from his hands and tossed to the side, where it bounced against the earth before rolling to the feet of another of the prisoners.

Yuuma slid back slightly, discarding his cloak for a moment before returning to the stance he held prior to the assailant's charge. His eyes, glaring devilishly at the walla head of him, beckoned wickedly at the remaining five prisoners.

"Don't keep me waiting," he taunted, a lively grin seizing his facade.

The bellowing cry and sound of footsteps came from behind him, at the five o'clock position. This assailant trembled with unmistakable fear and swung a splintered plank of wood wildly before him. He honestly wouldn't have been an issue for a Genin, much less a Jounin. Yuuma evaded the oak board with relative ease, dipping his body to the earth and planting both of his hands firmly on the cobblestone beneath him. With astonishing speed and force the Hyuuga's left leg shot heavenwards, perfectly timed to avoid the makeshift weapon and strike the heathen in the jaw. His head swung back forcefully and the man crashed against the earth with a loud clap!

Yuuma returned to his feet swiftly afterwards, sitting his gaze back to the 12 o'clock position and curling his fingers inwards, openly beckoning his next opponent to step forward and join their comrades as unconscious husks in a growing pile.

The Byakugan stirred to either side, constantly aware of the four remaining vagrants and their movements. Should any of them move towards the shinobi, he would be ready; he would strike them down.

With an elegance undeserving of the trash before him, Yuuma spiraled alongside the next prisoners lunge, planting his left foot ahead of his foe's and striking him forcefully between the shoulder-blades with the palm of his hand. The man gasped as the air in his lungs was exhaled and then crashed against the earth, a thunderous crash and a short series of coughing singing the tale of his defeat.

By now, the other prisoners had grouped up with one another, standing shoulder to shoulder across from the Hyuuga, their countenances seized by fear and their arms trembling with dread. They strafed the shinobi, inexplicably compelled to remain rather than flee, but content to keep their distance, weary of what might become of them should they charge the devilish man before them.

"All at once," he said, a wide grin making it difficult to tell if he was joking. The prisoners would not react to it; though it was likely in their best interest to charge him as a single unit, these men barely knew one another, and seemed far too frightened to think out any meaningful teamwork beyond that which was used in leading the Jounin to this opening.

"Well?" The Byakugan glared at the remaining prisoners, unblinking even as a dust-filled wind tore across the cobblestone road. "If you don't come for me, then I'll finish this myself."

Likely out of fear of his comments, the right-most prisoner charged forward, his eyes closed as he lashed out with a kunai, praying the ebon blade cut the shinobi in the throat. It did not; the arm which swung the weapon was seized by the wrist, and with a quick twisting motion of his own arm, Yuuma forced the man to loosen his group and drop the weapon. The Jounin forcefully tugged on the arm, causing the man to unintentionally step forward, carrying his body into a forceful strike that broke his nose.

"Fuck" the prisoner cried, stumbling back and bringing his hands to his face. He started to say something else, but was abruptly silenced when the Hyuuga's foot struck the man firmly in his chest and knocked him backwards. The thug managed to keep his balance, but soon found himself knocked onto his back when a subsequent motion of the ninja drove his palm into the man's chest from a slightly up-driven angle, knocking him from his feet and onto the ground.

His grin growing wider, the shinobi turned to the remaining prisoners. It was almost over.

While dealing with the last prisoner, it appeared the two remaining formed a plan to catch the Jounin off guard, opting to launch several kunai at him while his back was to them. They were either completely unaware of the Byakugan or stupid—though it was very possible that they were both unaware and stupid. The Hyuuga spun on the back of his right heel, quickly strafing to the side of one of the kunai and deflecting the other with a dagger of his own. As the two blades kissed, the shinobi lunged forward, his tremendous speed covering the distance between him and the prisoners in seconds. With little regard for mercy, he drove his knee into one prisoner, causing him to double over in pain. Next he swung to his left, spinning full-circle to gather momentum, and struck the final prisoner with both of his palms, uprooting the man and flinging him against the wall half a meter behind him.

Yuuma drove forward as the two fell to the ground, seizing each by their collar and showing his strength by heaving both of them to the rough center of the opening, where they'd be in the company of their heathen comrades. After a moment of gathering himself, the shinobi would allow himself to relax; the veins at his temples faded, and the ghastly lavender hue returned to his eyes as the Byakugan returned to dormancy.

As the shinobi responsible for finalizing the prisoners apprehension flooded the scene, Yuuma had already retrieved his overcoat, and was slipping his arms into its sleeves. He remained where he was for several minutes, aiding in the gathering of the prisoners and answering several questions pertinent to the situation. As the situation came to a close, several words of thanks and appreciation were voiced between the parties, and the Jounin was given the paperwork he would need to prove he had accomplished the mission.

With this evidence in hand, the shinobi ventured through the dark alleyways and departed the small town, making his way across the rocky landscape that stretched far into the distance. As the sun began to dip into the horizon to his side, the village skyline began to emerge at the edge of sight. Yuuma would come upon Iwagakure and enter it, searching out the Tsuchikage's tower as his destination, to report on his mission and receive his payment.
