[/justify]“Are you sure?!” Although Axcel had asked that, he was already accepting the cone and holding onto it tightly by the time he had taken it. While normally the shinobi was selfless, he couldn’t help but take the strawberry desert. The tears that were beginning to fill his eyes had disappeared just as quickly as they formed, and Axcel’s face was once more lit up with the same cheerfulness it usually exhibited. He was already enjoying the dessert, nomming on it like a normal person would--too scared of taking the same risk he had before as there would be no ice cream left afterwards!
Visit him? If only it were as simple as that. As far as he knew, Yukigakure no Sato had crumbled during the war--unable to support itself in such a time. Even if they were alive, they had thought Axcel to died long ago, and returning was an unlikely option for the former Yukikage. “Of course! I’ll show you dozens of tricks when that time comes!” That was, if that time ever came. Axcel was a vagabond at this point, wandering the lands by his own will--Yuki no Kuni wasn’t a place he would return to without purpose.
“Hm, you want to know about Yukigakure no Sato?” Axcel said, stroking his nonexistent beard. The boy hadn’t the slightest clue as to where to start. “There’s lots of snow--it snows constantly throughout the entire year,” He began, only stopping to take another bite out of the ice cream. “Although they have a council, the Yukikage’s will goes unquestioned--which is unlike most villages. Most Yukikage’s tend to come off as malevolent, but never towards their own people.” It was true--Sekitan, Axcel’s former instructor when he was a genin and the Yukikage before him, was noted for his harsh personality towards those who opposed the snow. Asato, a shinobi who was once Axcel’s genin and eventually the successor to the village when Axcel had disappeared, also grew into quite the monster, despite Axcel’s best efforts to drive him off that path. It seemed like the Rokudaime was the only odd one out of the bunch.
Asato. . . Axcel had remembered the purpose behind him going to Kirigakure--he had caught wind that someone who fitted a description not unlike his esteemed protege had taken refuge within the village, though his search was all in vain. He had found nothing. Axcel quickly shook such thoughts from his head though and licked at the strawberry cone, his eyes lighting up at the taste of the ice cream. There was Mr. Squiggles too, Axcel’s pet polar bear--but that was a story for another day.
