Wandering into the inn, coming back after he had checked in earlier, he watched the place fill with peculiar figures. He passed one woman, he seemed to be a bartender of sorts, astonished at the sight of her figure. While he only began to adventure past his old home a week ago, and only seen so many women, they had a much bigger frame than this one. From what his father taught him, that was definitely a woman, so he was a little confused. Perhaps it was culture to be skinnier here?

Though once again shock came his way, as another woman came into view, a much bigger one though. Such a broad frame into contrast to the previous female. She wrapped both arms around the boy, and spoke with her face slowly inching towards his own. The stench of alcohol was strong. "Hey there, muscly man, you alone in this inn?" Yuki, a man who had little understanding of idioms and subliminal messages, took this as a simply question. He replied, following up with a question of his own. "Yes, I'm by myself. But I must ask, why are you so much bigger in contrast to the other women I've seen?" He spoke abruptly, not realizing the offense given as his dad neglected to teach him every manner there was.

With a quick slap across the face, and a surprisingly strong push, Yuki was forced to land in a nearby chair, confused as to what he had done for such a reaction. Normally an attack showed a wish for a fight, but she had stormed off. What lesson is there to this? He wondered.

He soon forgot as he felt a rumble in his stomach. He hadn't eaten since this morning, and he used the last of his money for this inn, figuring such a cheap price wouldn't be so hard on him. The only way he could make money was with work, yet he had no employers. Looking around, he saw a man who was more aloof from the others. He smoke a pipe, something he hasn't seen before but heard of, and almost appeared sophisticated in comparison. Perhaps he was interested in employment. With a small smile to create a warm greeting, he faced him and spoke, "Excuse my impoliteness, but I'm in search of work. Do you have anything you'd be willing to hire me for?" He spoke with blatancy, expecting a honest and simple response.

Yuki was at first confused at the man's pause. Was he attempting something, trying to piece together the proper response? He could do nothing but wait, until he felt the burst of smoke in his face, the two disgusting smells hitting the boy's nose harshly, as he instinctively back up, coughing a little bit. He pushed past his moment of weakness at that moment, listening to what the man had to say. Shock was his first reaction. Not physically shown on his face, but he forbade himself from showing any more rude facial expressions, though the vulgar reply was unexpected to Yuki, who was treated like some sort of nuisance by this older man.

His approach must have been a tad too strong, that's the issue. Convincing himself of this, he continued to talk to the man, he knew there was no chances at financial gain as he stated such, though his interest was aroused by the sound of cashing in bounties. "I had heard criminals wandered about, but is it true people are willing to pay for their capture?" Being sealed off from the rest of the world due to his father, Yuki asked this question with an obvious innocent tone, with a small hint of excitement. He continued to ask questions before he could respond, "Where would I find one of these people?"

His attention obviously bought, as the sound of two, possibly three men a little too riled from their booze would not even be able to divert the adolescent's attention, despite their rantings and criticisms turning into a fist fight.

I stood, hands tightly at my side, fists clenched as the pipe was returned to my leather pouch. Seemed as if something to do revealed itself, likely deadlier than intruding into the house of a woman during that bloody time of the month. Adjusting the crimson-hilt blade on the left side of my hip I turned to the boy again, speaking in a low, grim, heavy tone. ”Want to go out into the world then, search for some thug to hunt?”[/ul][/font]

The man almost seemed to zone out of the conversation, leaving Yuki at somewhat of a cliffhanger. This idea still menacing itself in his head. He preferred making money in ways that involved not killing, though he surely would do so if it was required for him to get his next paycheck. But he also questioned his ability to hunt others. They wouldn't have become noteworthy if they weren't strong. The non-ninja himself was strong, at least he believed so after the intense training his father administered. Though he never actually tested this in real combat.

As the man responded in a way that let down Yuki, he let the message soak in. So even if he made money with this method, it was still just a search for hire sort of deal. This was obviously a lesson that he would have to rely on his searching skills to find work. Or not? Quickly after saying that, the man rose, and invited the teen to accompany him. While it was still searching, he knew two people would be more helpful.

With a smile returning he stood up in response, and excitedly spoke, "That sounds great!" With the sound of the fight finally registering in his mind, he turned to watch, things were starting to get a little bloody, but as each second passed they seemed more drunk with each attack as well. Hooligans, was a word that came to mind, and soon pondered the difficulty of telling the difference between criminal and drunk. Turning back to the man, he questioned, "Can we really tell whose worth turning in or not? Everyone here seems like a bad person..." He scolded himself mentally for speaking such an insult, but he kept it quiet enough so he wouldn't catch the attention of those other men and hurt their feelings.

Yuki was anticipating the response of the man, before even knowing anything about him, not even a name. Then he felt a weird presence. Overshadowed, someone towering above him, two of them. In confusion, he glanced behind him, the same bulky woman who had attempted to have her ways with him had returned, a burly man. He had a good foot over Yuki in height, the hair covering his body basically anywhere visible. He created a weird feeling in the adolescent. Intimidation.

"That's him, that's the boy who wouldn't answer my surveys!" The woman cried in the way a spoiled child plead to a parent, to this other man, who was starting to appear to be a lover apparently. He Glancing to her, the anger on her face apparent, then locked eyes again with Yuki, cracking his knuckles. Wary of a battle, he attempted to block an attack he anticipated with his buckler, though the agility of this man surpassed him. Temporary blackness filled his world.

With a raging headache, he woke up on the hard earth, in the middle of nowhere. Distraught at the previous events, or at least he guessed to be previous. No idea where he was, as he slowly stood, looking around the area. The inn was no longer in sight, and he was on his own.
