[/color][/font] This place was so... simple. The terrain uncivilized, the mountainous outcroppings jutting into the sky in the background, obscuring his view of the clear blue sky. It was perfect. Perfect. For him, this was perfection in landscape. No one to be seen for miles, various caves and shelter where he could hide from the masses. And no one would think to look for him here. A silent chuckle escaped from his closed mouth, followed by a forced smirk as he stared out into the distance.

Where he was now, he had no idea. He may even still be in Kusa no Kuni, just looking into the borders of Tsuchi no Kuni. Either way, this was the perfect place to settle. The perfect place to get started.

And there he sat, pulling a scroll from his backpack and his two Giant Shuriken. The ivory-coloured paper strewn across in the flat boulder he sat upon in a neat and precise way, perfectly aligned corners and no air bubbles in the flat canvas. His flawlessness amazed even himself. A quick set of handseals and the sound of clapping hands,

"Fuuinjutsu Ikkou"

Nothing happened. NOTHING. The sound of cursing echoed through the forest as he tore and pounded at the rock, his hair and the scroll, before regaining his composure, realizing that the money spent on this scroll would be wasted if it was harmed. He breathed heavily as he stuck the two giant shuriken into the earth, leaving the scroll where it was.

He stepped out, onto one of the last remaining soft grass patches that he had become so used to during his time in Kusa no Kuni. The earth was firm but not too much so, it still had moisture and it still put a small spring in his step. Quick-draw, throwing a kunai at the tree trunk, a loud chunking sound echoing around the clearing. The grass seemed to sway with the sudden sound, as if it were a dormant animal finally awaking from it's slumber.

[/color][/font] Was he meant to serve a purpose in his life? A cold and dark promise kept under shaded light and yet... he couldn't help but feel it there. Like a tumour. Growing. Doubt. That was his cryptonite. His main weakness. He was plenty strong with just his techniques. But the feeling of doubt as he moved around the battlefield would not leave him. Fear kept him strong. Doubt crippled him to the point where he could not even stand.

A breeze that had once blown, now deadly silent and still. The grass blades no longer curling, bowing to the rising sun. The heat building to unbearable levels now for the young man, his leather armour amplifying the heat. Enough so that he removed it, simple a black T-shirt on his upper body, with the bandages that usually resided underneath his leather gauntlets now exposed and his royal blue haori with gold patterns tied around his waist. He had let his hair flow, instead of restraining it with the strap of his eye-patch, which he had removed, showing the discoloured iris and white, glazed over pupil of the broken instrument of seeing. Of course, this was covered mostly by his hair, the bangs, left less trimmed than the left side, covering the 'blemish'.

He stepped up to the kunai he had thrown earlier, forcefully pulling it from the bark of the tree and placing it in his hip pack. It was hard to think back to the time when it all happened. His squabbles with his own home village hadn't started when he was an adult. But rather, when he was only six years of age, as his parents got on the wrong side of a group of arsonists. The fire still haunted him to this day. Those fires that crippled his every movement, infected his every thought. His father's mutilated body... and his mother's... and his younger sister...

Angrily, a flash of silver erupted, striking at the tree trunk, splitting the bark and forcing the tree's trunk to blow back slightly, as if stricken with fear. He continued to attack, kicking, slashing, punching, using any way to physically harm the chunk of wood. Performing several hand seals then slamming his palm into the tree,

"Fuujutsu Kyuuin!"

The chakra field began to draw what little chakra was in the tree, causing it to slowly whither and die.
