Looter's Mission [P]

Looters huh? And not alone too? This was surprising she thought as she received word that she was going to participate in a mission with someone she'd never worked with or encountered before. And this mission was going to be a C rank too? Wow, she had never done a C rank mission before. That thought was certainly exciting for the purple haired kunoichi as she received the mission slip from the Tsuchikage Office. She had not requested a mission but had put forth that she was interested in taking up partnership missions since after her first mission she had been somewhat tired of going solo. Of course she recognized that she could take another D rank solo mission but thought that it would be worthwhile to try her luck. This was a good way to broaden her very tight social circle, as friends were concerned here in Iwa. That was certainly about to change, she thought happily.

Walking down the main streets of the village, she noticed how it was bustling with activity. Indeed, it was only mid-afternoon. There were lots of civilians who wanted to come out to do their daily shopping, whether it be for groceries or just random shopping, she was uncertain. She made her way through the crowd that had gathered and took a quick glance at what the vendors that were selling on the streets had. Evangeline often found some very pretty things if she just looked for the right vendors. But for the moment, the streets only had people that were either selling vegetables or getting ready to set up their stands. It was still too early for some of them. Being a lover of shopping by nature, she almost had some of the vendor's operating schedules engraved in her head and thus knew the best deals. Guess today wasn't one of those days for her to spend money on this kind of area, she thought with a small smile. That could be a good or bad thing, depending on how much she spends and her mood.

Women and their shopping.

She would walk by a ramen stand and immediately her stomach would start growling. Right...it was mid-afternoon and she hadn't eaten anything since she woke up that morning. She had been way too busy, going to collect the money from the first mission she did and then being notified shortly after that another awaited her. And so, Evangeline would sit down on one of the single stools, noticing the groups of people that were sitting alongside her. The ramen stand was always bustling with customers. She should definitely open a stand of her own if ever she became a cooking nin notorious enough around Iwa. At the moment she was definitely just testing waters by looking for favorable ingredients to add to certain dishes and snacks so that it would boost energy for people. Nothing was set in stone yet as...sadly, she was still not a qualified cooking-nin. But that was one of her many aspirations though! That is...if she fails to become part of the ANBU.

"One tempura ramen please!" She literally had to yell in order for the shop owner to know to take her order. The noise from the chattering people around her plus the noise that was being made by the ramen stand staff were more than enough to make her feel a little uneasy. That was the main reason why she didn't like to sit at the ramen stand, preferring one of the shops on the other side of the street. But for some reason she was craving ramen today and one knew better than to ignore their cravings. She would get a little comfortable in her seat and survey the people around her as she waited for her food. The one good thing about sitting with a large group of people was the ability for her to observe them. No, not in the creepy sort of way. More like in the bored sort of way. It was definitely better than staring at the grey smoke that comes out of the ramen stand.

"Miss, you're tempura ramen." The owner of the ramen stand would appear on her right and was carrying quite a large bowl of ramen. She thanked him profusely as he set it on the table before her and she began to indulge. The rich flavors of the broth and the noodles made the bowl in front of her just that much more delicious. She finished the noodles in a mere few minutes and then proceeded to order a plate gyoza. She was hungry and she wasn't satisfied with just one bowl of ramen. As she waited for her gyoza to arrive, the young kunoichi would then look at the mission in more detail. She had only seen the title of the mission and that it was going to be a partner mission. Evangeline didn't even know who her partner was, whether this person was male or female, what rank, experience in mission-taking, overall strength level. And then there was that thing about the fact that she didn't know what he looked like. What was she going to have to do, hold up a sign that had the title of the mission and walk around the streets of Iwa looking like a fool?

No...that was definitely not going to do.

As she took a bite out of one of the six freshly fried gyozas that the owner had placed in front of her while she was still deep in thought, the young Genin was thinking of possible ways to identify her partner...or maybe partners for all she knew. The one thing she disliked about not picking her own missions and partners was the fact that she knew nothing other than what the mission description that was now in her hand had to offer. Evangeline wasn't one for suspense, surprises or anything of that nature. She was a methodical young woman and liked everything as orderly as possible. It irked her a little too much that she had nothing to go upon except the three lines of text she was now staring at. But that was that and there was nothing she could do about it. The girl would finish up her gyozas, pay and thank the owner for a wonderful meal, and once more head off down the main street of Iwa.

Wait...when was this mission?

The looters weren't going to just wait around for a specific time to strike. No, they were not organized criminal in that sense, if she knew anything about looters at all. She had not quite encountered one before but she was sure that most acted on impulse. So then...the questions raised in her head were: 1) When was the mission going to take place? 2) Where was she going to meet this individual or individuals that were supposed to be keeping an eye out for these looters too? and most importantly 3) Given that they were, say a 2-3 man team, how on earth were they supposed to survey each and every store of the entire village? It was just highly unlikely that they had such capabilities. Well...there was shunpo but even shunpo wouldn't last for very long as it needed the use of chakra. So then...what now? Those were the questions that would remain unanswered for the time being.

And now, she was walking down the streets with absolutely nothing to do. She might as well start the mission preparations early. She had heard from rumors around Iwa that certain shops and stands seemed to targeted more than other ones. Since Evangeline had nothing better to do at the moment and she wasn't even sure when her partner(s) would show up. Why not do a pre-mission round up to gather some information about the paths that the looters usually had when they were picking out which stores to loot from. The young woman decided that it would be a little bit more of a benefit if she was going to just start off by walking around, eavesdropping into conversations of random passerby. It wasn't that great of a thing to do morally but she wasn't sure that such things called for morality. It was basically crucial for her to know if she wanted to at least get some sort of grasp for the direction of this mission.

And that was when she skidded to a stop. The young Genin thought for a moment. It seemed highly unwise that she should start digging into this so early. She wondered if it was best just to do standard patrol, in a laid back fashion. Evangeline would walk down a side alley and was aiming for no destination in particular. After debating with herself for a few moments, she decided it was best to leave her original plans for when she met her partner or partners. She figured it was still a little early to do much. If there were looters around she knew that if she spotted them she would definitely hunt them down. No crime could go unpunished which was just morally correct.  Right now she had nothing to do...absolutely nothing. Indeed, she knew that there was a mission at hand but with so much uncertainty, she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed.

Well...whenever she had nothing better to do with her time, the only thing that she would come up with was training. She was a little too bored at the moment. The young Genin would walk hastily towards the academy, where she knew she would and could pester her academy teacher for the scrolls she needed to learn certain jutsus. The thing about the academy was, that as a Genin, she was allowed to take scrolls from the inventory as long as she had permission from her academy instructor and that there were no classes using that specific scroll for instruction purposes that day. Even as she walked to her destination her eyes were constantly on the look out for any suspicious individuals. She had vowed when becoming a Genin that she would protect Iwa and it's citizens. She intended to do just that.

Evangeline would see the academy come clearer into view. Today was one of their off days which not only meant that there would be few students, other than the senior students, but also that the streets would be filled with more people; children to be exact. Indeed, she knew how children were. When they had off days from school they tended to make the best out of them by going about the streets playing with other children. It made the main streets of Iwa just a little more lively and cheerful that usual. The senior students on the other hand had fewer off days as they prepared for the Genin exams. Again she would recall her academy students. Those were the good days, she mused, as she pushed the doors which led to the building's interior. She knew that her instructor would be in his office today. No, she was not a stalker.

She was merely well informed.

Smiling to herself, the kunoichi would walk down the single hallway and veer to her left to the instructors' offices. She had been here so many times now that hesitation and embarrasment feelings were long gone. How else was she supposed to learn any jutsus. She knocked on the door of her sensei's office and was immediately allowed entrance. At the sight of his former student, the man would give a chuckle. "I'm sure you're not here for a visit? Jutsu training time again? So soon!" He enjoyed teasing with mock surprise. Evangeline would return the chuckle as she walked over to his desk. "Indeed it is, sensei. I'm here to steal your scroll." She winked at him, indicating that it was a joke. The teacher and student maintained a very good relationship even after her graduation to Genin. She was especially fond of him as her sensei, one of the nicest in the entire academy.

"Stealing, Eva! If you do that I might just have to report you to the Tsuchikage!" he would say jokingly. Yes, it was serious crime to steal scrolls even from the academy. Though nobody has done it before, it was still engraved into every student's head that if ever they needed a jutsu scroll, as long as it did not belong to a particular clan or kekkei genkai or was a forbidden jutsu, they were allowed to borrow scrolls from the academy for up to two days consecutively. Therefore, stealing was almost out of the question. With a more serious tone, he would look at the young shinobi with an intrigued look. "What scroll would you like to borrow today?" In a lot of ways, her sensei was like one of those receptionist people, all smiles in normal conversation. But he's much like a beast as a teacher or a trainer. She had had the luxury of experiencing first hand as his student. 

Evangeline considered for a moment before answering. She hadn't actually thought of the jutsu she wanted to learn, much less the scroll that she would need. A look of confusion began to display rather plainly on her face. And her former teacher had noticed that look, having been ever so familiar with it that he thought it was rather odd. From past experience, the young kunoichi would not come into his office not with a jutsu already in mind. The fact that she was thinking so hard meant that she hadn't thought about it which was opposite from her always methodical and organized personality. "Are you so bored that you feel like trainibg but training nothing in particular?" The young woman smiled and nodded her head. Yes, that was about right. Sometimes her sensei made her laugh because he knew her so well.

"I'm actually on a mission but I have no direction as to how to proceed so I thought to do some small training while I'm at it." Evangeline would hand her sensei the mission slip. He raised an eyebrow and then proceeded to read in detail. A looter's mission and this girl was going to train? She was definitely a hard worker and at times an overachiever. As he handed her back the slip she would continue. "I thought about strengthening my overall strength by general training but most of it requires either a partner or that I remain in one sitting. Seeing as the mission could technically start at any moment, I don't want to just do something halfway." That sort of thinking the man agreed with. He himself was deep in thought for a moment as he recalled some of the jutsus that he had trained over the years. There was always that possibility that the girl could retrain a jutsu that she had already learned. And that was what he proposed to her.

"You can retrain a jutsu you've already learned that could help you with this mission at the same time. If I remember correctly, you have one jutsu that could help you." One jutsu...? The purple haired girl pondered for a moment. In her mind she was going through the list of jutsus that she had learned up to date. Since she had only become a Genin not too long ago, said list was probably a bit shorter than most and so it was easier per say to recollect. "I think I know which jutsu you mean, sensei." She asked for one scroll and her teacher got up from where he was sitting, heading to the scrolls room. The girl had asked for the Shunpo scroll, a good choice in his mind. He would return moments later with it in his hand and passed it to his former student.

"Now don't bother me." He was smiling as he sat back at his desk. Evangeline thanked him and then walked the same path to which she had come, exiting the academy.

A mission, a C rank mission, and the first mission Miyumi had ever had. It wasn't the most wise chose she had made, but then again it wasn't entirely her fault. Her father had decided that she needed to hurry up and get "ahead of the game" so he sent her to look for a C ranked mission. Who knows what would have happened if she picked a D one, she knew she wouldn't be as stressed. But then again her father would have thrown a cow. Luckily there was a mission that required a team, or at least had a team, and she was acknowledged that she could join them if approved; she was. So now, Miyumi walked wearily along the bust streets of Iwa. She wasn't all that tired, but the questions and thoughts rolling around in her head did. They were those had made her stressed in the first place, and were quite exhausting.

The sun was hiding behind some clouds, and people of all shapes and sizes slid past her frequently. How in the world was she supposed to find her teammates? She had been told that there was a boy -- and a girl, both unaware of each other and Miyumi. She was given no way to recognize them, no way to realize if she was talking to them or not; all she had was a little piece of paper with her mission printed on it. It was going to be a long day, and even though she had already read it, Miyumi swiftly un-crinkled the rough piece of paper in her hands.

Her mission was simple, well not exactly, but easy enough for Miyumi to understand. She -- and her teammates, were to find and stop a small group of looters at their next heisting point. However their mission was a fallow up mission, someone had already found and achieved to get information back to the Tsuchikage. Apparently, one of the men, there were supposedly three of them, was a skilled katana user. Something that didn't really bother Miyumi, considering the hefty claymore on her back. The thing that bothered her, was that there wasn't any information on where the heisting would take place. Which means they would have to look for it, something the would take quite awhile considering she also had to look for her teammates.

Another thought, her teammates. What were they like? Miyumi was still feeling unsettled about the fact that she was working with people she didn't know, what happened if they thought she was weak like everyone else. The though made Miyumi heave a huge sigh, everyone thought she was weak. But she never questioned her abilities as a ninja, maybe as a teenage girl, but never as a ninja. She just hoped she wouldn't have to use those abilities.

As the day rolled on Miyumi was faced with many other harmful thoughts. What happened if she failed? What is she never found her teammates? What if she was too scared to do anything and the man with the katana struck? No, no, no. Miyumi wouldn't let any of those happen, she knew she had to work for what she wanted, and what she wanted was to go to the Tsuchikage's Office and report a successful mission. Thats what she wanted to do. So she continued to walk around, her apron-skirt occasionally flying up if there was a breeze. How on earth was she going to find her teammates?

Shunpo, a technique that she had learned a little after graduating from the academy, was one of the more difficult jutsus to learn, at least for her. She had taken a certain fondness into learning Taijutsu and knew that there was one quick movement style which was created just for Taijutsu masters. She remembered how she was intrigued by it because it was technically different from Shunshin, which she had seen most of her friends learning as opposed to shunpo. Truthfully, she preferred neither although she did wonder whether Shunshin was easier. It must be...since it was a chakra powered run, where Shunpo was utilizing movement and agility to power the run. It also uses chakra but the use of it is vastly different between the two styles. Evangeline recalled how much trouble she had had the first time she trained the first level of Shunpo. And now she was going to retrain it.

Shunpo (Flashing Light Steps)

Special: Shunpo is much like Shunshin, a forward-moving high-speed technique that transports the user across a short space in the blink of an eye. When used, the user will rush almost instantly to wherever they are facing. The user can Shunpo once per thread, plus once more each time retrained. One cannot attack or perform techniques during Shunpo.
Description: Shunpo, a Taijutsu master's response to the Body Flicker Technique, relies solely on the user's ability to harness their inner ki and gain enough stamina to withstand the sudden strain imposed on one's legs. However, once properly trained, the Taijutsu Type will find their legs moving at speeds unknown to common man, to the point most would make the foolish mistake of assuming one is using Shunshin. However, unlike that chakra inspired run, Shunpo is pure stamina and movement skill, allowing for tighter, quicker, and more reactionary movements essential for someone that relies on movement. Although Shunpo itself moves in a single line, its many variations is what makes it so lethal.

The purple haired shinobi opened the scroll she had just taken from her teacher and began to read it's contents. She recalled that when she had first read the jutsu description, she had been utterly baffled by what she had to do. In any way, she had not become used to learning a technique that utilized her body more than chakra. Other Taijutsu techniques required a lot more chakra release and control but shunpo was different. She wondered whether she would have as much difficulty with it as she did before. Probably will, she thought to herself as she readied her feet. The young girl was going to start about by focusing all her body's weight to her legs. She hadn't used her legs much in tema of exercising them in quite awhile. And thus she expected that this jutsu wasn't going to be able to be learned at once. In fact she was almost certain that no chakra would be used for shunpo. The girl would then place the scroll on the ground.

Part of the trick to shunpo was that it was solely based on how fast the legs can carry one's body. The more of one's whole body is placed on the legs, the faster the movements will be and the easier to get to shunpo level speed. Tighter and quicker movements were what she wanted to achieve, which was the basic reason why she had learnt the jutsu the first time. She did some basic leg stretches and exercises, similiar to what would be done for a sprinter before a sprinting race. Her legs felt sore just doing these simple exercises which meant that she lacked exercise in general. She wasn't looking to be an exceptional runner but to be beyond that because it was needed for shunpo. Evangeline was starting to think whether retraining this jutsu was indeed a good idea after all. 

But no matter, she prepared herself. Her leg muscles now relaxing, she began to shift her body weight to the balls of her feet and her legs. She would then start with a light jog while standing in place. Since the jutsu was going to be technically a serious fast sprint and it was only for five meters, she was going to have to take on this run with as much energy from her body as possible. It had to be fast, for one. Evangeline closed her eyes, took a deep breath and then prepared for the shunpo. In her mind she was already thinking if it would be best to take it a little slower in the beginning. She was definitely going to try for the full 5m since she usually did something of that sort whenever she tried a jutsu for the first time; shooting for the maximum.

As she shifted her body's weight equivalently between both feet, she started to feel the strain in her muscle area. After a moment, she would take off, her eyes focused on one of the shops that was not far from the academy entrance. Since she had some time to spare, the young kunoichi thought it would be best to take the time now to try and retrain since she had to get back to the main streets of Iwa anyhow. She only prayed that whoever was coming for the mission wasn't waiting for her since...since she had no idea where she was supposed to meet. The young woman would charge forward into a run towards the shop entrance. The first attempt was doomed for failure.

Miyumi hated what she was doing, walking quickly through the streets, studying every single person's face. She thought maybe she could recognize a shinobi, but honestly everyone looked like villagers. There was nothing she could do, no way she could figure out who was her team mates. The thought made her panic and her stomach began to churn. There must be some way I can find out who they are. Her mind was racing and she was still studying the people who passed by's faces. All to young or old, one woman has a wiggling newborn in her arms, it's screeches made Miyumi shudder. Baby cries weren't the best things in the world. She was getting restless, but her legs were also getting stressed from moving around too much. She could have kept running around, but frankly she looked like an idiot.

She could always train, it was possible that she could just practice until something became of use. But she was too scared at the possibility of not finding her teammates. She was never given a place to meet, nor was she really paying attention with the receptionist gave her the information. She stopped the thoughts run through her head and took a long deep breath. Things will straighten out eventually. Right? Thats what she thought anyways. Might as well make use of her time, Miyumi glanced around. She slowly took in her surroundings and nodded carefully to herself, what exactly was she going to do? She already agreed to herself that she didn't want to run around searching for her team mates, so maybe if would be better to pick up a scroll and learn a new jutsu. It was possible that it would come in handy, and the thought of practicing her other Justus's was also comforting.

Alright, so she'd train. What exactly she didn't know, but she wanted to at least look at some scrolls. Swiftly Miyumi turned on her heels, heading towards the building where they kept some of the not so special scrolls. She had been there many times before with her sister or father, running her fingers over the crisp paper, it was one of the things that made her decide to be a ninja. Those scrolls. Plus, just the thought of being able to manipulate the earth around you and pool you're energy into a blade was exciting, it was like a superpower but everyone had it. She had spent many summers in that pasty building, the windows always open and a cool wind pouring in. She loved to read, but reading -- well looking at the scrolls was even more fun. She felt like she was looking at secrets that regular people couldn't read, and that was true. Many people couldn't go in, but Miyumi's father had somehow managed to let her inside and she had been going to the place since she was younger.

The walk there was nice, since the side of the street she walked on was shady. The smooth breeze caused her only few goosebumps, but she was only a few steps from being in the sun. She didn't use to appreciate the streets of Iwa, she used to be scared of them because they were so busy and loud. But now -- when the was much bigger, as she looked out around, it felt good to not be so alone. The noisy surrounding were actually quite exciting, it made her feel like she was apart of something. But as she neared the small scroll shack, merely one of the multiple places to find scrolls in town, the noise began to die down and there were less people on the streets. The building was actually filled with multiple businesses and such, but Miyumi knew where exactly the door to where she was going, was.

When she opened the door the smell of pine filled her nostrils; the memory of her dad pointing out the strong cologne the worker wore flooded her head and she let out a small chuckle. The man nodded to her, as if knowing who she was, and bowed her head slightly before walking off farther into the building. The rows reminded her of a library, but instead of books there were tens, maybe a few hundred, scrolls squished together on shelves. Miyumi already knew which section to go to and she glided to it in pure glee. Just the row made her happy, comfortable, and she stopped in front of a shelf. It was the rows entirely used for keeping Ju Kenshi, the art of the Heavy Blade.

As she skidded to an abrup stop, the young Genin would look behind her. That was certainly not shunpo. At best it was just a normal run. And she was frustrated with herself. This is supposed to be retraining, she chided herself. But knowing her, it didn't quite matter what it was. It merely mattered that it was a jutsu all the same. And the worst part was, this jutsu used little to no chakra, meaning she no longer had an excuse to give for such poor performance. For any other Taijutsu, she could say that her chakra balance wasn't the best (which is true) and thus failure could somehow be expected. But...this was a little ridiculous! She would stand there for a moment, pondering. As though pondering was going to get her anywhere. And yet the usual questions began to form in her head. If she could answer all of then, then perhaps..perhaps she would be able to successfully retrain this jutsu.

So...where to start? Evangeline was looking at the spot in which she had run from. Since she knew relatively well that shunpo was unlike shunshin where it was a chakra powered run, she wondered what she was missing. Wait...a jutsu always always needed chakra, no matter how minimal the amount. The young girl would walk hastily back to where the scroll was and picked it up off the ground. As she read the jutsu description to herself, she had the urge to hit herself on the head. Baka! The chakra consumption for the technique was said to be low and not none. Which meant that chakra was still released. How could she have missed that? Whilst she was still making a fuss about her obviously stupid mistake, the purple haired girl would take some time to reflect. What was she reflecting exactly? 

Simple. 

Since this jutsu was a retraining, it meant that she had obviously done it before. Although it had been awhile back, there must be something or another that she would remember. But the problem was...what was she looking to recollect? Evangeline had already figured out on her own that chakra, very small amounts of it, were used to power up the jutsu. Ah yes, her sensei at the time had told her that she was still lacking in movement, namely speed. The ways her legs moved, the agility of her leg muscles integrated with the bit of chakra that would be released were the key components to the successful learning of this jutsu. So then...how could she improve? The young girl pondered long and hard as she remembered how much trouble that part of shunpo learning was for her. But she wasn't going to let it get her down again!

The kunoichi put down the scroll and returned to her place that she had done her first attempt as to remain consistent in her training. That was the methodical aide of Evangeline. Since she was now aware of the problems which resulted in failure the first time, it meant that she was prepared to make amends for her errors. Chakra...right, so chakra was needed. But a very small amount, she reminded herself. The fact that she almost constantly forgot that control of her energy was the core to jutsu performance was rather exuberating. The less chakra she needed, the more difficult it was. In her mind she was already telling herself that she needed to have much coordination happening between her chakra and her stamina for at least a near perfect performance of the technique. And one other thing was that consistency needed to exist so that she could fuel and aim for the whole 5m.

Ikuzo!

Evangeline closed her eyes again, concentrating now on, for the first time in awhile, not chakra but the weight of her body becoming equal in both legs. It was highly essential that her weight was evenly distributed for that perfect run or sprint. Her chakra was already flowing to her feet, small amounts of course. She only needed the energy for the initial take off of the run. That was where shunpo differed from shunshin. Shunshin was all about chakra release during the run, making bursts of constant energy that much more important. As she felt the synchronization of both of elements, she thought she could feel success just radiating. Indeed...success would be reached except not fully. The young shinobi would release the bit of chakra from below her feet and then take off once more.

Success was always short but sweet. The young kunoichi would charge at her target, her eyes locked on the shop entrance. Evangeline was determined to get this jutsu done and over with. Technically it was a retraining so it shouldn't be that hard. And indeed, it wasn't. She stopped a meter from her target, recognizing that her legs were sore. She really needed to exercise her legs if 5m proved to be so difficult. But then again, it wasn't like actual running. It was more intense than that. She could probably forgive herself for that. But only because she had found an explicable excuse that pleased herself. Such a hardworker. The young shinobi was all but annoyed that she was one meter short from the targeted goal but she knew that pushing her legs at the moment wasn't the best thing to do. 

The purple haired girl decided that it was best to solidify her performance even if it was a little short from perfection. If she wasn't going to take on a mission shortly, she was definitely going to try for perfection. Because she was so close. But she thought to save her strength, especially anything to do with her legs, knowing that there was always a possibility that she would have to run distances to chase after them. No..she was definitely not going to waste the energy in her body with more training. But, she was going to attempt the jutsu one last time for good measure. Instead of running back to where she had been before, Evangeline would just go from there, where she had stopped from the last attempt. This time her target was one of the jewelery stands that she passed while walking to the academy. 

Her energy was again evenly spread to the soles of her feet. The chakra was grouped so that there was always energy in case she needed it. What she did then was exactly what was done only a minute ago where she calculated the synchronization of energy and speed so that she would be able to perform the same level of proficiency for the jutsu. It was refreshing to feel the breeze in multitudes as she flash stepped to the stand four meters from where she had been standing. At the moment, she was happy with her performance. Well...she kind of had to be. The girl stopped and caught her breath, noticing her heartbeat racing slightly from the minor training sessions. She will definitely work on this more in the future.

And it was then that Evangeline stopped her trainibg temporarily. The Genin would then hasten her steps as she walked back to her first starting point, picking up the academy scroll off the ground. Looking up at the sky, she was aware that it was already somehow getting late. And still she knew nothing more about the meeting time and place for the mission. Should she have asked the mission clerk beforehand? She probably should have. The girl would roll up the scroll, put it into her kimono and then start walking once more down the streets of Iwa. She now finally had a destination in mind. 

Where? The Tsuchikage Tower.

Miyumi was bubbling inside. Ever since her father had given her a blade she'd get excited when she could learn new techniques. Since most of them weren't really classified, she only got to use a scroll once, and using scrolls was exciting for Miyumi. She reached to one marked "Fukiya" and pulled it out to read it. As she scanned over it her insides were thrashing around -- she wanted to learn this one. She tucked it under her arm and scurried to the counter, where she obediently filled out a form to borrow it. "You only have today to borrow it!" the man who smelt of pine said as Miyumi skipped out the door. She threw her free hand up over her head giving an ok sign. This would be great.

The fact that she was supposed to be finding her teammates slipped her mind as she approached a street corner where Iwa began to get busy. She strolled down the road before realizing she had no idea where she was going. There wasn't really any places she could train at, unless they were outside the village. But going outside the village could make her mission impossible. Her mission! "Crap! I totally forgot." Miyumi mumbled, great now her mood wasn't that great anymore. No, you can figure this out. She thought to herself while she chewed on her bottom lip. There must be some place to go where they have. . a large space. Miyumi glanced around -- then up. That was it! The roofs! There were several flat ones, and from up there she could see everyone down below. However if she wanted to go on a roof there were several problems. 1: Miyumi was pretty sure that was illegal, and 2: she didn't even know how to get up there. So, it looked like roofs weren't her solution. But her dad always told her she was a good thinker, so there had to be something. Miyumi just started walking then, she looked down all the alleys, studying the faces of the people passing by once again, and ended up at the village gates.

There was one thing she knew would jeopardize her chance of finding her teammates, and that was going outside of the village. There would have to be other places, wasn't there at least a park or field somewhere in Iwa? Miyumi stood, facing the gates for a few moments. Then she tuned back around and faced the village. "Gah." She scowled. It was impossible, she'd just have to wait. Maybe it was possible to train after the mission, then she's be able to go outside the village. But for now, her hopes of training were crushed, and she was left totally oblivious as to what to do.

Then it hit her, the Tsuchikage Tower had to have at least names. She could just ask, it was that simple. Why hadn't she thought of it sooner? Not like names would really help, but Miyumi figured that it might just solve her problem. At least she would have tried. So, she had to forget about the training and hope this would finally end her misery, thus running off in the direction of the tower. Meanwhile, she stared up at the sky to get a sense of time. She couldn't tell how long it had been and saw that the sun was closer to setting. They couldn't do a mission at night, that would be too dangerous; at least for Miyumi. "Let's hope this fixes things." She grumbled as she turned a corner, she was tired and was positive that if she found these two shinobi, her mood would increase drastically.

----Apprehend the Looters!

His first C rank mission, his first ever mission in fact. Akio was actually feeling anxious for this. He had actually taken this mission on the spur of the moment. The previous night he had gone to the kage tower, after the incident with the kiri nin, to take a simple mission and blow off some steam when he had taken noticed of a mission marked URGENT. It had something to do with catching looters and trying to bring them in alive, he hadn't really read it very well before snatching it up. He was then told that he would be assigned a temporary team for the mission, and that he would be meeting them the next day.

Now he found himself running out of his apartment, his hands fumbling over his person to ensure that he had not forgotten any of his equipment. He had intended to get an early start, and possibly get some training in before his mission. But, of course, he had no such luck. After the events from the previous day, he had been unable to get a decent nights sleep, and ended up sleeping in by several hours.

Fortunately, he was able to reach the designated rendezvous point on time. Strangely enough he was the first to arrive. Now he had nothing to do but wait..and wait.. and wait. He sat there for the next several hours, with nothing better to do but watch as the sun slowly crossed from one side of the village to the other. It had become apparent that his partners had either abandoned him or they had been misinformed. Either way it was time for him to track them down.

There was, however, one major flaw in this plan, he had no clue who they were, what they looked like, or where they might be. As he stood to begin his search a low grumble echoed in his ears, bringing him to the realization that he had yet to eat that day. Well he was always told that you do better with a full stomach. So before beginning the search for his teammates, be began looking for some sort of food stand. It didn't take long before he found one that served his favorite food, kebabs. There was just something about skewered grilled meat and vegetables that made his mouth water.

After hastily devouring the kebabs he had to stop and think, Where would his partners go if they couldn't find him. The only logical place he could think to look was the kage tower. Even if they were not there, then maybe he could obtain information as to where they would be or who they were. After disposing of the kebab skewers eh set off, heading for the tower.

Upon reaching and entering the tower he approached the reception desk. "Umm, yes, Ma'am I have a question. I took on a mission last night and was supposed to be assigned a team for it. Do you think you can tell me who they are?" From beneath the counter the woman pulled a large stack of files, containing the currently taken missions. Without looking up from the stack she asked, "Name and title of mission." It seemed like she wasn't feeling very sociable today. "Akio Shiroshi, and the mission was labeled URGENT Apprehend the Looters." The woman thumbed through the file before pulling out a single file. "You were assigned a pair of kunoichi, Evangeline and miyumi."[/color] She then showed him a description of each of the girls before sending him off. Great, now he only needed to search the whole village for 2 lone kunoichi. This shouldn't take more than.. oh say.. the rest of the night, just great. Hopefully I can find them before the looters escape again, he mused to himself as he exited the tower. Now to just aimlessly search the village, but who knows, maybe he would be lucky and find them quickly.

Miyumi always had things to complain about, but she never did. Until now. She was walking towards the Tsuchikage Tower, a route she had taken many times. With her sister, her friends, when she was a normal girl and had nothing to worry about. But now all that was passing through her head were the thoughts about this mission, which was doubtfully her first. It wasn't going to well. Perhaps it was because she had been wandering town for a few hours, trying to locate her team members. They could have already gone out and completed the mission, the C ranked one at that. But, they could also be in the same jam as Miyumi, looking around for two people you didn't know a thing about.

The sun was on the edge of setting, and Miyumi had no idea what would happen if they didn't complete the mission on time. But even though the sun was almost touching the horizon, Miyumi still had several hours before it got dark. It was mid afternoon, maybe later, and the sky had a beautiful pink glow. The part of Iwagakure Miyumi was walking through wasn't as crowded as everywhere else, sure there were the occasional kids running past her playing tag, but the streets were otherwise peaceful. Just the sight of the buildings reflecting sunlight was enough to make Miyumi remember a memory that was fond to her.

Just like the sun reflecting off the buildings, a pink and red glow encased the buildings surrounding her. Little Miyumi, probably only 4, stumbled after her older sister. She seemed like a giant in Miyumi's line of vision -- even though she was only a year or two older. "Nē-chan! Slow down -- you're running too fast." Her older sister, Hikaru, was a spitting image of Miyumi. Or more like Miyumi was a spitting image of Hikaru, they shared the same big maroon colored eyes, as well as the jet black hair that hung from their heads. However, unlike Miyumi's long locks, Hikaru's hair was cut to her neck and bounced joyfully as Miyumi reached out to her. "N-Nē-cha-" The ground fly up to her as Miyumi stumbled and her face reached pavement. Rolling over she burst into tears, crying out for her sister. "Now, now." Hikaru was next to her and pulling her up, brushing Miyumi's kimono off. It was a brilliant salmon color and clung tightly to Miyumi's body, Hikaru wore the exact one but in green. "You did hurt yourself too bad, only one little scratch." Hikaru tapped Miyumi's nose and smiled. "Crying won't do much either." Miyumi sniffled and looked up to her. "Nē-chan, why are you so strong?" The question seemed to confused Hikaru and she studied her surroundings for a second. Miyumi fallowed her lead and glanced around.

It was the time of night where everything should have been dark, but instead warm shaded lanterns hung along wires, weaving there way from one building to another. It gave the city an enchanting, pink glow. Then again, anything was enchanting to a four year old. The two girls were both dressed their finest, and were several paces ahead their equally fancy parents. It was the yearly Tanabata festival, a festival Miyumi never missed.

Finally answering Miyumi's question, Hikaru turned to her little sister. "I think it's because, well because I wish to be Shinobi material." Miyumi stared blankly at her sister, an expression that made Miyumi look like a doll. "Shi. . nobi?" The term was new to Miyumi then, but she was simply given a nod from her sister. "The ninja that protect this country -- and our village." Miyumi's face began to glow and she was filled with the curious question of any little girl. "I want to be one when I grow up. They get a special school and can fight." Fighting sounded like fun to Miyumi. She was never a girly girl, but her intense interests in boyish things always alarmed the other girls in her class. Fighting sounded like one of them. "They can do things that regular people can't, like creating fire balls or teleporting across a field. Their also strong and noble, their the army of our generation." Miyumi was only keeping up with some of their dialog, but Hikaru also seemed to glow as she answered questions about these warriors. "So how can you be one, Nē-chan?" The rest of the night, instead of wandering around the bright city and playing games at the festival like other children would, the girls got permission to wander off into the night while sharing their dreams of becoming kunoichi. It didn't occur to Miyumi when they were walking around, that Hikaru was leading the way, and eventually led them to a place that made both the girls decide their fates.

The Tsuchikage Tower looked divine in the moonlight. Since the gleaming, glittering light of the lanterns were far off then, the only light the girls could rely on was the light radiating off the moon. It was statuesque and towered above the small girls, but just the look of it was what made Miyumi want to go inside and learn it secrets. But those secrets, were supposedly only for the Shinobi. However there were some, that Hikaru knew about and decided to share, ones that made the intriguing life of a ninja so much more appealing to little Miyumi.

That night, when the girls got home, they wrote down their wishes and tied them to a bamboo tree far off on the farm. Those wishes included that they become fearful kunoichis and enjoy it, they also both promised that if they did make it, they'd love every bit of it and never complain. However as Miyumi made her way to the Tsuchikage Tower she realized she was doing just that.
