Apprehend the Looters!

Mission Subject: Using intel from the Genin I have sent on the previous mission, you must stop the looters at their next heist. We have received intelligence that at least one of them is armed with a katana and has moderate to advanced skill in using it. So be careful out there.
Special Requests: None. Genin teams that are doing the previous mission must meet with participant(s) of this mission and agree a place to meet afterwards.

THE DUO OF DISASTER

Rasu and Chouji were quick to take part in their mission. It was from the Tsuchikage’s Main Office that the two of them made their way towards the destination that their mission would take place. An anonymous letter had indicated that the thieves would make their next heist at this location. The duo reached the building and to their expectation, it was the Iwa Scroll Vault. Here was where all the forbidden techniques of Iwa were located and it was no surprised that people in were interested in stealing such valuable parchment.

Chouji Dosu was only a couple years older than Rasu and they were about the same height. From what he had learned as they traveled, Chouji did not possess a Clan or Bloodline Limit of any kind. He was a Genin, just like Rasu, but he had any snakes coming out of his hands or use any of his bones as weapons. Chouji, the Ninja World, was normal. So it wasn’t any unique affiliation or attribute that got Rasu’s attention; it was Chouji’s impressive Iron Wakizashi and his primarily Genjutsu-based techniques. Rasu had never met very many ninja primarily focused on Genjutsu so perhaps Chouji was more unique than he seemed.

They met up with the administrator of the Scroll Vault and informed him of their intentions, showing him the mission’s letter of approval. The administrator informed the two that leader possessed a Katana and was very capable with such a blade…or so the executive heard. The new tidings were not what were making Rasu nervous; he had never worked with others…in anything involving the ninja way. Even his new Cell had not properly become acquainted, let alone took part in a mission together.

“Listen, I don’t mind working with you…but don’t get in my way.” Rasu said to Chouji and tried not to sound rude. “It’s nothing personal. Just that people get hurt when they get in the path of my Kekkei Genkai.” He would have smiled under any other circumstances, but this was serious; Rasu would be of very little help if could not use his bloodline techniques. He had focused so much of his time on is innate jutsu during The Academy and, while those were great, he only possessed the bare minimum-required to pass the Genin Exam-in other aspects of combat.

With that, Rasu took to the roof and awaited nightfall.

Chouji walked by Rasu thinking to himself about his partner. He kept his wakizashi under his arm so that it would be easily drawn. When they had arrived at the destination Rasu had handed the parchment to the administrator.

Listen, I don’t mind working with you…but don’t get in my way. It’s nothing personal. Just that people get hurt when they get in the path of my Kekkei Genkai.” Rasu had told Chouji.

Chouji nodded his head and with that rasu took to the roof while, Chouji hid in the shadows waiting for night fall.

THE NIGHTWATCH

The entire atmosphere of Iwakagure altered once nightfall arrived. It was not just quiet; it was type of quiet that could only be obtained on the hight peaks of a dry mountain. It was so quite that every detail of minuscule sound sent a chill down the Shinobi’s spine. Rasu looked up towards the moon while crouched stilly on the rooftop. He had always used the sun to tell the time; never the moon. He imagined it was late…It felt late; Rasu would have been asleep during this time, but realistically, this was something he would need to get used. He felt uncomfortable and wondered if Chouji was feeling the same way.

In a moment’s time, the statue-like structure of Rasu nearly jumped when something appeared to fly past his face. His first instinct was that someone missed him with a Kunai or Shuriken. Rasu looked roundabout, noticing that whatever had flown passed his face was still flying. It was a bird…a Nightingale. It perched on the top of a street light and began to sing its whimsical tunes that only certain types of birds could make. Rasu expected the sound to alert Chouji and quickly opened an intercom between their radios to reassure the other Genin.

“Don’t worry. Just a Nightingale.” Rasu spoke in a hushed tone and inquired. “How you feeling down there Chouji? Any movement?” The Shinobi’s concern even surprised him. This was not like him…the dark must have been messing with his head. Not sleeping at night made Rasu feel weird and thus he acted weird as well.

Chouji all most had fallen asleep. When he heard the singing of a bird not any kind of bird a Nightingale. When Chouji heard the radio blare “How you feeling down there Chouji? Any movement?”

" No. wait yes I see something coming this way. By the looks of it three men. They aren't far off about five meters. Wait make that three, it has to be the thieves I can see the katanna the administrator was telling us about. Do you want to move in now or wait?"

THE NIGHTWATCH

Chouji’s answer nearly relieved Rasu. He was about to answer back when Chouji’s suddenly-rushed voice came about on the radio again. The momentary feeling of comfort quickly converted into edginess when the partner Shinobi saw a group of three after a second check. The description Chouji provided certainly matched the culprits. His partner could see ( even in this darkness ) the leader’s Katana, which must have meant the thief’s sword had already been drawn.

Had the enemy seen either of them? Rasu brought his focus to the southern streets and there they were! The Shinobi viewed the three shadowy figures and then his eyes became fixated on the Katana…If there was any real danger the Genins would encounter, the worst of it would be found on the edge of that blade. On the bright side-the threes stride was casual. They had not seen either Rasu, not Chouji as of yet; they were just overconfident from the looks of it.

“We have to act fast, but…do you have any Jutsu that can distract them so I can get in close?” Now quieter than ever, he hoped Chouji hear him in his hushed language as he asked whether or not Chouji could provide a distraction. Rasu needed to get in close. He had some Shurikens and Makibishi, but realistically he was useless at this far, in this darkness. He needed to at least get close enough to make his Kusarigama useful and while the chain was long, this distance simply would not suffice.

Rasu quietly reached into his equipment pouch as he awaited Chouji’s answer. He pulled out 10 Makibishi and through them before the entrance of the Scroll Vault. The ground spikes made a subtle noise, but unless any of the thief’s were notably gifted, they were too far away to hear. It was insurance; Rasu hoped that he and Chouji could keep the thieves far enough away that the Makibishi wouldn’t even have a use, but they were there just in case.

“Careful near the entrance of the vault…I’ve planted some Makibishi.” He informed his partner of the Radio. The Nightingale had disappeared in the darkness, most likely sensing the danger. So the only sound Rasu heard was his heartbeat echoing in his ears as the thieves drew ever closer. The Shinobi only hoped his part could make use of the situation and provide him with...something.

Chouji had heard his partner.

“We have to act fast, but…do you have any Jutsu that can distract them so I can get in close?”

"Yes i do its called Horoshi no Jutsu. It only can effect one person at a time."

Chouji started to use the required hand seals. They were the most basic hand seal that Chouji knew, being his first. Chouji chuckled to himself ant slowly crawling out of the theif's leader would pose as a major distraction. The hand seals were formed, any minute now the thief leader will be on his knees trying to make it stop.

Like he had predicted the jutsu hah worked and the thief leader was sobbing. His thugs were numb with shock,even though they had no idea what was happening. Idiots he had thought.

"Ok Rasu there all your's !"

FISHING FOR THIEVES

Rasu was surprised at what he could barely see in this darkness when the distraction, provided by his partner, had come about. They were ants, little ants crawling all over the thief possessed a Kantana. It seemed Chouji performed what Rasu was positive to be a Genjutsu since his partner was not a member of the Aburame Clan. In any other situation it would have been comical; the center-thief jumped up and down hysterically as he tried to get the little dots of ants off his body. He was practically crying! It was an excellent distraction, even when it only worked on one person; Chouji’s techniques had caused the leader to freak out and that distracted the other two thieves easily.

It was only when Chouji spoke over the radio that the Shinobi knew he had to act now.

Rasu made his way to the left edge of the structure that contained the Scroll Vault and traversed down the building as quietly as he could. He was in between two building and moved around one of the buildings to end up behind the distracted thieves. Now Rasu was quite a bit close to them-close enough for the Kusarigama.

The Shinobi unfastened the Chain Scythe from across his back. The subtle chain rattle did not go unnoticed. Rasu could see the thief on the left look back towards the darkness. He would have been looking straight at the young man if it hadn’t been so dark. Favor had fortuned Rasu this day; the moon was at the enemies back so that he and Chouji the thieves silhouettes while, for now, the enemies could not see ten feet in front of them.

However, Rasu was not willing to bet his life on luck and quickly tossed the Kasarigama towards the ankle of the one on the left. With an experienced flick of the wrist, Rasu was able to make the chain do a wrap-around to tighten around the enemy’s legs. Once everything felt secured, Rasu wrenched the chain back as hard as he could to bring the left thief into the darkness with him. The man was dragged on his chest. Rasu did not take the time to get a good look at him; he did not want him to react from the action. Instead the Shinobi grabbed a tuft hair, pulled up for momentum, and then slammed the guy’s face against the ground.

The force was enough to render the thief unconscious.

Chouji had seen the left thug being pulled past him Chouji smilied. Hmm my turn.He tought to himself. It is time to show the strength of Nododitsumaru, even though it took a while to render one unconscious.

After preforming the needed hand seals, chouji started to see the effects of Nododitsumaru right away, the thug has breathing in a loud deep shallow breaths. the leader was still on the ground.

"pathetic. They shouldn't been in Iwagakure no salo, even Tsuchi no kuni." He thought.

Sweat was rolling down the thugs face, he wiped it of. as he said whats wrong with me!? Then he collapsed.

"Rasu how you doing back there?"

[Yasou]

AND THEN THERE WAS ONE

Rasu had placed too much focus on the thief he apprehended. Now that the enemy was unconscious, he wanted to get his Kusarigama back, but he did not (being the learned Genin that he was) take into account the full spectrum of this incident. By the time notice that the thug on the right had seen what had happened and moved into the darkness, it was already too late. The thief bellowed and readied a pumped fist. Without a weapon in hand at the time-his chain scythe indisposed-the Shinobi lifted his arms up in defense Luckily, Chouji was looking out!

As it turned, his partnered Shinobi had some more Genjutsu tricks up his sleeve.

All the sudden, the thief that was about to give Rasu a fistful was choking for air. He grabbed at his throat and fell to his knees. Rasu was still trying add it all together as the thief became unconscious. That was amazing! The Shinobi got to his feet with two out of three thieves lying face first in front of him-one wrapped up in his Kusarigama, the other possibly dead. Rasu realized that it was another Genjutsu that Chouji had performed. Those techniques were just wild. It reminded the young man that he really needed to learn Genjutsu Kai in the future so he would not have to worry about winding up like this guy. Chouji had defeated an enemy without even touching him! He was a forced to be reckoned.

“Man Chouji, those are some kickass Jutsu.” Rasu praised the other Shinobi’s ability.

During his applaud, Rasu had not realized the leader of the thieves had gotten to his senses. His blade grazed Rasu’s nose, making lunge backwards in pain. The leader of the thieves saw what had happen to his subordinates became filled with hysteria. He let out a monstrous yelled, bringing his sword up to strike downward at Rasu’s chest. Rasu had landed hard against his back and did not have the time, nor the room, to get back on his feet. A little winded, the Shinobi performed a one-handed seal, setting his chakra into a protective layer of bright magma. The lava encased his body, warding off the enemy’s attack.

Chuoji heard applaud from behind him.

It was Rasu while he said “Man Chouji, those are some kickass Jutsu.”

Chouji saw the leader of the thiefs get up but it was to late, he had grazed Rasu's nose which made him jump back in pain. The thief charged Rasu as he put up a chakra defense. Chouji responded quick;y, he unsheathed his wakizashi and hit the thief in the head with the handle,after he did a stab to his right leg. The barrier that Rasu made was increbidle it was made from magma.

Chouji checked the thief's pulse he was breathing, which was a good sign. That they had finished the mission.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPREHENSION

Rasu pushed his way out of the hardened magma, which was the only problem with defensive Jutsu; he had not yet developed the ability to maintain the magma’s flow and liquidate its material once it entered the open air. He staggered to his feet and realized Chouji had literally taken care of things. Over the Wakazashi, Rasu preferred his Kusarigama, but clearly it was a powerful weapon. The Shinobi was lucky Chouji was his ally in Iwa because he was going to develop into one hell of a ninja!

“Good work…and thanks for helping me those times.” Rasu said and felt very awkward thanking someone. He hated to admit it, but there was no way he would have been able to accomplish this C-Rank mission without Chouji. Rasu, while he acted tough, was still a Genin and three thugs matched up against one Genin was never good odds, but it seemed two was more than enough, especially when the two possessed exceptional ( if not extraordinary ) abilities.

Rasu scratched the back of his head and noticed the sun was beginning to rise.

“It’s already almost morning. Let’s get these guys in jail and then I’m going home.” With those words the Shinobi found himself smiling. For Rasu, a smile was as uncommon as seeing him without any pants…it felt, but certainly weird. It was in that moment, as Rasu gathered and Chain Scythe and Ground Spikes that he began to think maybe working with others was not such a bad idea. “There, all set…you ready to take out friends?” He asked Chouji after gathering up his stuff.

Rasu picked up one of the lighter thieves and brought him over his shoulder and grabbed the arm of another, dragging him behind as he made his way towards Iwakagure’s holding cell. Rasu could feel the fatigue from the battle and lack of sleep and could not wait to go to bed. He was grateful for two things; that he had trained enough to be strong in these types of situations and that the holding cell wasn’t too far way!

Choji cleaned his blade and looked at what they had done, three thugs unconscious. As Rasu picked up the thugs, Chouji did the same and lifted the third one over his shoulder. As they walked to the holding cells Chouji smiled. His home was close by when he got there rest was needed. He asked if Rasu would turn the mission in when he was ready and to send his portion to him.
