((OOC: Since Estilo have not replied to me in over a month, I'm continuing this mission on my own. I have talked to adero and the mission is now a "B"-ranked mission))
"I would like to have marinaded chicken with some grilled vegetables and some black tea please" requested the female as the waiter returned. "Right...And what would you like to have sir?" asked the male as he looked at the other guy. He gave his order and the waiter disappeared.
Yukiko folded out the map; they had covered about a third of the eastern coast. They would have to continue further up until they reached the mountain chain up north.
'We don't have the equipment that's needed for scaling them. I suppose it's enough if we just continue a bit further west until we travel through the forests further south' thought the young woman. If they worked well, they could be in Fuyuminato* before the night came.
"Here's your food miss" announced the male as he put what she had ordered at the table. "Thank you" replied the Chuunin with a polite smile at her face.
She started to eat the dinner right away. They could not afford to take it slow since it would only be six hours more of daylight. Not to mention that the northern parts of Kaminari no Kuni were more rural compared to the south.
"I suggest we take the route that goes up to the shrine of Chimata no Kami*. It's a long route that covers most of the area between Akaniwa and Fuyuminato" suggested the female.
Both of them left the restaurant right after they had paid their meals. 'We have to cross that hill first' thought the brunette as she checked the map. They started on their trek over the hill that was behind Akaniwa.
It was a bit steep, but it did not take long until they were at the top. "I just want to take a photo of this" said the young woman as she noticed how great the view was.
The shinobi duo would continue the next hour to go through a rather rural landscape. No houses or any sort of shrines could be seen since most people used the harbour in Akaniwa for transport. Yukiko felt a bit uncomfortable; there were not a lot of forestland either.
Atlas sensed her discomfort, so they started to speed up a little bit so they could get out of this area faster. A small frown appeared at her face when she could see a brand new bridge ahead of them.
Her hands unfolded the map to see if they were on the right track. 'I can't remember that there was a bridge or a river of some sort here' thought the female as she looked at the map. She walked a little closer to investigate what this could be.
It appeared that parts of the steep hill in front of them had collapsed since the map had been made. 'Better write this down' thought the Chuunin as she took out her notebook.
'A steep hill 5 km south of the Chimata no Kami has collapsed. New bridge has been built there' wrote the young woman before they crossed the bridge. They had one more hour to jog until they reached the Chimata no Kami shrine.
From there, they had about two more hours to walk until they reached Fuyuminato. But they had covered about a third of Kaminari already though.
Fuyuminato = fuyu means 'north' and minato means 'harbor'.
Chimata no Kami = Japanese god of crossroads and footpaths.
