TWO YEARS AGO
Time had changed the very world in a matter of years. What had once seemed like an impossible sequence of events all happened in a blink of an eye. Hirihi, being as avid as she was about furthering herself as a ninja, had finally made it. She was a Jounin. Having passed the difficult exam to reach her goals, Hirihi now wondered what else there was to do with her life. With the death of her father, due to the stress on his heart and the additional stress of Hirihi's fast advancement, she lived alone. With no one to hold her back, telling her of the dangerous of what she was getting into, she almost felt lost in all of it.
She had some people in her life to keep her going, mostly from fellow ninja, but it never seemed to meet the same feeling of concern that her father had for her. These thoughts filtered through the 24 year old's mind as she wandered along the mountain paths through Kaminari. She was supposed to be on patrol, searching for suspicious activity in lieu of all the attention that was spiraling around other countries, but Hirihi was being a bit lazy. Taking one of the caravan trails, hoping to see some of the traders coming through, the pink haired Jounin kept close to the mountain as it rounded a bend and led into one of the various valley-like fields among the mountains.
It was there that she saw the dust of one of the caravans coming along one of the paths. It was coming in her direction, so she was greatly pleased at the opportunity that she might be able to converse with the traders again. She knew a good number of them, but it had been a while since she was issued the order to go on patrol. This was a real treat. They'd get to see her dressed in her new attire. She was wearing her Jounin vest, as well as her new black ensemble. One of the things her father said didn't suit her was the pink clothes, so on his death bed, she promised to retire the clothing in honor of making Jounin.
Lo and behold, there she was, a Jounin and fulfilling the promise that she had made to her father. Slowly moving closer, Hirihi noticed that the caravan seemed to be moving much faster than was normal. Most people didn't want to push their horses so hard in the mountains, for fear that they may collapse along the mountain paths and cause the precious cargo to fall off the side of the cliffs. No one wanted to gather their things after that, so it left the valuable goods to be scavenged by others who thought the risk was worth the payoff.
