Follow Me to World's EndFLASHBACK

Pour me another...
Steam rose from a ceramic pot, filled to the brim with herbal tea; it smelled of lemongrass, with a slight hint of lavender. Curled in the hands of a cloaked individual was a full cup, rising to meet his lips, he would draw upon the contents. Warmth spilling down his gullet and washing him over in serenity. The atmosphere was tranquil, a calm tune ringing in the background. It sounded of a stringed instrument and chimes, and the man paused to nod his head to the rhythm.
Outside, thunder could be heard roaring in the skies. It seemed as though the gods were angry and thought to cast their wrath upon the people. Hope and fear, the two main devices of religion. The two concepts kept people coming back, asking for blessings and afraid to commit sin. Rather than living in ignorance, Genma had chosen to take an alternate path. One that left him alone and hated, factors that had forced him outside the walls of his once safe, home.
After traveling to the great land of fire, he had happened across another man much like himself. And in suit of his new kin, he ended up back here, the last place he wanted to be. But for now, he had to put up with it, coping with the urgency of his absence by considering the goods to come from it. Strength would come in his travels with this man who had knowledge beyond comparison making him a prime teacher, to say the least.
The tea house was rather empty, a few figures keeping to the far corners of the room, subdued in shadows. A thin woman walked around in silence, refilling the cups of her guests and maintaining optimal customer service. Genma lifted his digits as she glanced, and she made her way through the shop to his table. "How may I help you," she spoke softly, a smile gracing her face. "Another, please." Genma, returned the smile, an innocent look on his face. In public, he maintained a shy but friendly facade; it helped to calm the situation, and most wouldn't think to be on their guard.
