I was fatigued beyond my common soreness from performing my morning workout. It couldn't been the fact that I substantially increased my palm strikes or exerted more chakra than usual, but I had no energy to force myself to travel all the way back to Kumogakure. Fortunately, I had found a bus top that could very well take me towards the gates of the village. It was luck that I stumbled upon such a gift honestly! But as I calculated the current time of the day with the height of the sun, I could clearly infer that the bus wouldn't be hear for another ten to thirty minutes. It wasn't alarming at all since I wasn't in any type of rush. Actually, I took refuge on a wooden bench with a rectangular glass roofing right above it. It felt good to sit down and relax for a moment and take everything in - almost too good.

On that moment though, the sky would suddenly weep. Drops of rain violently plummeted from the clouds above making it a disaster for any other travelers in the area. I seriously hoped that it wouldn't delay the bus by much though. Yet all I could do was wait as I looked at the glass ceiling above me and the constant splatters of raindrops.

As if by unlucky chance, it had started to rain during her travels back to the village- Of course, she didn’t complain though, the hood still up on her cloak, although she did yearn to be out with her hair wet from the rain that fell from the heavens- But she needed to get back. That was her first priority, then she could mess about in her home’s garden trying out her bloodline’s technique in the rain as she did so often. Rushing through small villages she’d go past buildings, people, flora, all kinds of things and yet not taking any of it in as her deep red eyes seemed to be fixed on a single goal- Getting back to Kumogakure. Of course, with the rain and the weather being quite awful, at the moment low visibility was an understatement, and the thick mist that hung in the village she was currently travelling through prevented her from easily making her way around the place.

And so having been running for a good few hours now, taken small breaks in-between to prevent herself from working too hard, she’d soon find herself in a small village that she knew to be quite close to her own, having been reminded of the place from the notable details of the houses that she now passed. Areru and her family had spent a few days here in the past, and she couldn’t place her finger on the reason for that, but it was familiar nonetheless, and having been here before, she knew of a certain way of transport that she could take in order to make her journey a bit easier- As she kept running, the combination of both humidity and work had made her tired, and she’d find her breathing not erratic but- It was obvious she needed to take a little break. Grinding to a halt against the earth, she’d then look around, and navigate her way to the nearest bus stop.

About ten minutes passing of her attempting to find her way about the place and with several questions with locals regarding the placement of the stop itself, she’d soon find it, seeing what would appear to be a male bearing carrot-orange hair- And, although Areru thought of herself as tall- he was much taller than herself. Approaching both him and the stop she’d take the seat next to him, the next few moments having been full of silence as the rain poured around them, but luckily, not touching their forms under the secure roof of the bus shelter. It was this loud patter of rain that would fill the mind of the two surely for the next few moments, until Areru found the situation generally too awkward, and decided to say something to break the tension, the words easily parting from her lips;

”- Do you know what time the bus will be here?”

Of course it was quite an open question- She was unsure of when it was, but she knew where it was going. Upon closer examination of the guy, she’d notice his shinobi headband tied around his waist- He's from Kumogakure, huh? the same village as her own. How interesting!

It felt like this rain would be incessant for the next few hours. Such downpours were often a gift of the country's climate, making it a grand place that didn't thrive on total heat waves. But I would be nearly caught off guard as another person found a seat right next to me. I was so relaxed and at calm with everything around me that the rain had muffled her footsteps, allowing her to stealthily take a position near me without my initial notice. I attempted to take in the sight of her countenance, though my eyes lowered to the slate of metal that was too familiar. I could barely see most of it but it didn't require too much concentration to see that we already had a concrete foundation without knowing one another. The strands of her hair matched that of a raven's wing with a hint of green mixed in. I had never seen a female of such a strange exterior before, especially one who used their headband for a choker. Was I being judgmental? Only a tad.

But my reason for doing such provided to be more than understanding. She was peculiar and strange, so I instantly was drawn to her in the way a scientist grew attached to a broken theory. Just as I turned my head and allowed her the freedom of me not bearing down on her, she spoke to me. It was ever so clear, abrupt, and sudden that I nearly became confused. "Uhh? I'm not completely sure."

The words were pushed off the edge of my tongue forcibly, not even bothering to think before responding. I felt like a fool somewhat but I took the time to regather myself. "It should be here pretty soon. I'm guessing in about ten minutes or so?" I reaffirmed, hoping that answer sounded more confident. My eyes dropped back to her headband and then to her eyes, wondering if she knew the origin of my milky white eyes. "I'm Adiemus Nakashima, Chuunin of Kumogakure." I reassured her.

We were waiting, so why not have a bit of chatter while we were at it.

The sound of the rain soon gave way to his voice as he responded to my inquiry- So, if he was correct, it shouldn’t be long. Almost as if he was then bolstering what he had said, he spoke once more, which, to say the least she didn’t expect- From initial appearance she would have figured that the first thing he had said would be the last, his figure not intimidating but- a little bit daunting. But, as he continued what little conversation she had began, Areru would be more than happy to go forwards, and say something else to keep it going- With the rain pouring down, time slowed to a halt, and it was better to at least make a new acquaintance the village rather than just stand about doing nothing, right?

"I'm Adiemus Nakashima, Chuunin of Kumogakure."

”Thank you- and Adiemius Nakashima?..” she’d pause for a few moments- Her competitor in the exams had been a hyuuga, bearing the same eyes. Now he- He bore different colour hair but his eyes were distinctively white, obviously signalling that he was from the clan. Of course- The matter of his hair, he could have easily dyed it, or there was a chance that one of his parents had red hair and it had been the dominant gene- She wasn’t sure, but such things were interesting- She didn’t look anything like her fellow Sansutsomu brothers and sisters having interited most of her mothers traits, but then again, she could use the eyes fully- And yet secretly, beneath her false lenses of red. And yet, despite the covers to her eyes being false, they looked in to his with genuine interest, a beautiful ocean of blood descending upon his perfect vision.

”..You have the Byakugan, right? she’d ask him as a casual question- Of course, it was either they were coloured so, made to trick people in to thinking he was a Hyuuga, or he really was one of them, although her bets were on the latter. Her red meeting with his milk-coloured eyes, she’d introduce herself to him; ”Sansutsomu, Areru.” she’d tell him- Surely if he knew his words, he’d be able to make the link between her surname and name- If he knew of her clan, that was. Unlike the Hyuuga who everybody and their mother had heard of, the Sansutsomu.. they were less seen of- Or at least, she hadn’t met any except for her own family within Kumogakure.

What little was said upon her part would be made up for later on, surely, if she was to meet him again. Although she was a very open person and ready to speak to anyone, she was most talkative when she was with people that she knew well, although she didn’t find problems with speaking to this Adiemus. With her arms crossed and tucked within her cloak, she’d find the weather slowly getting to her- Her cloak a little bit soaked from the rain, she’d need to wash it when she got back, and hope that she wouldn’t get a cold from it- Such would be quite unfortunate. Watching as the downpour continued, it wouldn’t look as if the rain would stop any time soon- Which wasn’t all bad, as it surely meant there was a storm coming- somewhere. Areru just hoped that she’d be back in time to see it.

The brief pause once she repeated my name gave me enough time to realize that she had stated my surname rather strictly. I realized that she may have had an idea of my bloodline since my eyes were a dead giveaway but I didn't want to take the risk of being incorrect. She probably mentally penciled in whatever alternative explanations that she could before deciding to get straight to the point. Her evidence of my bloodline was correct. Eventually I was sure she'd recognize my distinct eyes, for there wasn't another who had eyes that mirrored mine at all without being a Hyuuga.

"I wonder how you came to that guess." I entertained remaining a bit oblivious to her claims purposely. It was funny to see someone try so hard even when they were struggling. "But yes I have the Byakugan therefore I am Hyuuga. I just don't prefer to go by the name of my clan. I mean we forge our own destiny and legacy, so there's nothing wrong with me keeping my name personal. Or at least that's how I see it." Hopefully my explanation was enough to persuade her to the action of agreement. Unfortunately once she brought up her own name I was completely unable to register that she herself belonged to a clan, albeit a smaller one. Ignorantly, I nodded at her name, making no attempt to track its origin since it felt pretty clear that her name was pretty regular.

"Well Areru, where are you headed too?" She had came from the opposite direction that I did so my only assumption led me to believe she came from far away. It wasn't that important since we had the same destination, but if she could spare me any more of her kindness then it would aid our conversation.

Being seated next to such a giant, as they sat and spoke, she had to look up to speak to him, which wasn’t a bother really, but she wasn’t used to doing it as the majority of people she usually spoke to were but an inch or so taller or even shorter than she was. But his hair was probably the most striking thing about him, that and the gift that the Hyuuga clan had given him in the shape of his brilliant pools of off-white- Having been used to seeing them with the generic dark brown or black hair, having an orange-haired shinobi with the Byakugan was.. original to say the least, although when looking at Areru’s own appearance and taking in to accordance the physical norms of her clan, the same would probably be said about her.

Upon asking how she got to that, she’d reply with a very small smile and the words; ”It’s the eyes” she’d tell him as she’d raise her right hand and point her index and middle finger towards both of her own eyes of deep red. Due to her hair- A strange shade of black crossed with green and red eyes, combined with adequately pale skin surely some would link her to the uchiha. Another small grin flicking towards him before her gaze then turned to the weather in front of them and the dreary streets, the rain pouring down freely atop the villagers as they hurried about the place doing day-to-day things with the aid of an umbrella or a large waterproof coat.

His reasons for not taking his clan’s name was perfectly understandable of course. Although she had picked up her clans name, her entire family had chosen to do so- Her, her brothers, her father, and her mother, so it would feel wrong for her to change it- So it probably meant that, if he hadn’t chosen the name- He didn’t keep close to his parents, right? Or at least, maybe? There was a chance of that- Or she knew that if she changed her surname to something willingly and not through marriage her father would be at least a little upset of her choices. ”It’s understandable- I’m sure quite a few people from clans have chosen to change their surnames.” I’d say, finding no problem with it myself, of course. I was pretty much open to anything.

But the matter of the rain which poured down- She still wanted to be out there even wearing her wool cloak, but now engaged in conversation with Adiemus, she found herself lingering by his side and driven to answer his questions- She was sure it was just because she hadn’t spoken to many a person in the past few hours travelling and she finally had the chance to speak to someone so subconsciously her mind drove me forwards, or not. ”The same place as you- I’m assuming? Home.” she’d tell him with a slightly cheeky grin on her face, before adding on; ”I’ve just come back from the exams, so assuring that the Raikage accepts my new title- I’ll be joining the list of the village’s Chuunin. As you are on.” she’d say, remembering that he had introduced himself as a Chuunin to her. Surely then, she’d be seeing him quite a lot in the future with her new responsibilities.

"I never would have known." My reply was sharp and tactful, though all the more even sarcastic. It wasn't the edged type of sarcasm but more so something that her and I could both laugh at and enjoy. She even agreed with my reasoning and labeled it pretty normal. But then I realized my mistake earlier once she responded to my other question. I had meant to ask Areru where was she coming from, not where was she headed too. It was only a slight mistake so there wasn't enough motivation for me to go back and correct myself. Besides, why would I want to stop the beautiful flow of our conversation?

The way she acted made her seem all the more carefree and adorable. In a way she held the very peace I had been searching for and running away from my entire life. "Oh congratulations!" It didn't strike me that she was joining my ranks which meant there probably would be a whole lot more of seeing her. "I guess I'm going to have to treat you out to dinner after you get your title from the Raikage." I offered, still leaving "wiggle room" for her to deny his request. The sound of tires rolling through the ground mixed in with that of everything else going on around us. A lengthy and gigantic orange bus came into the sight as the engine roared. The bus for our departure had finally arrived and not a second too soon. The vehicle would stop right before us and the double doors would open, begging us to enter. I stood there idly playing the role of the gentleman as I awaited her to board and I would simply follow her.

"Well it's about time!"

His response had been one similar to that she would have used should she have not been on the answering end of the question- And as he spoke it, her lips slowly curled in to a grin; So he was a funnyman then? She wouldn’t have expected so from such a daunting looking figure, but it seemed that sarcasm was his keenest weapon as far as I knew now, so she’d take that in to account just in case in the future she was to take something seriously when really it was meant to be taken the other way- Which was probably something that wouldn’t happen, as although a serious person when she wanted to be, she even took insults with ease and simply retorted them with her own- She saw it all as a game, really. But would he become part of it?

The fact that she was on the border of attaining the title of Chuunin was pretty exciting to say the very least- Of course to people who have probably had the name for years, like Adiemus himself, as she assumed, probably thought nothing much of it but to her it was something revolutionary- Or at least it would be for a few weeks before the novelty of it began to wear off. ”Ah, thank you!” But she paid no heed to that and instead simply thought ahead about the things she could now do- Leaf a team, should she choose to do so- And take B-Ranked missions, as well as to be more respected in the village due to her title. She herself had respect for those of higher ranks than her, but of course, as many other people, if someone was a jounin and they were slagging her off, she’d be more than happy to drop said respect and give them the same treatment. And then- A proposal was made by him, which, caught her off guard a little bit as her red eyes changed from looking at the rainy scene in front of them back towards his eyes, a slightly puzzled look on her face- Did he know what kind of trouble he was getting himself in to? Surely if her brothers found out they would be keen on inspecting him to assure that he was fit for their baby sister- Such rituals had been the same for boys in the past- And he being much older, it would perhaps.. be even worse! ”Dinner?” a pause would occur and she would think it over- She had just met him, but there would be no harm in it, right? If there was any trouble from the guy, she’d find her own way of stopping it. ”..I’d love to- Assuring that you’re paying for it.” she’d tell him with the cheekiest of grins. Such blunt truth!

Just as she had spoke those words, she’d soon see a sight that couldn’t exactly be missed even by the blind- A bus, the colour matching Adiemus’s own shade of hair rolled in to the bay they were currently situated on, as with a metallic creak, the doors opened- Being pretty sure it was the bus they were meant to be boarding the cloaked female would make her way past the rain and in to the bus having noticed Adiemus’s gentlemanly offer, and would converse with the driver for but a moment, exchanging ryo for a single paper ticket. Walking along the bus, it being empty bar from the driver, Adiemus and herself, she’d move to the back, and take a seat near the window, watching as Adiemus would surely do the same and take a seat next to her; Or at least, she could see it happening.

”So- Because you offered me dinner, I figure it’s not too bold of me to ask you to tell me about yourself.” these words were spoken, once more through grinning teeth.
Taking the hood off her cloak, her hair would become unleashed, it being of the darkest of greens, the above having been said after he would begin to walk towards her on the bus- What kind of person was he? What did he like? What did he dislike? It was nice to know at least a few minor things before going on a date, right?

Gladly, she accepted my mannerisms and moved ahead of me. Casually I trailed her and boarded the bus, the driver a short, plump, and jolly man with a name tag that read "Richard." At the price of a paltry amount of ryo, I would finally receive my boarding ticket. My eyes flashed over it making sure the destination was correct unless I desired for my wait to be in vain. With that confirmed, my feet would automatically follow Areru near the back of the deserted bus. I guess there weren't many people who needed to go to our village, at least during this time of the day. Once Areru sat down, I found myself in the middle of quite a dilemma.

There were just too many seats to sit at on this bus. My first intuition told me to sit beside her. But would she find it awkward that I decided to sit by her on a empty bus? Did she prefer to have her own amount of room? Then again there was a seat directly opposite of her? Yet would she think I lost interest in her if I positioned myself further away? Hesitantly, I decided to take the risk and sat myself right beside her. Though I would've preferred the window seat, the ability to stretch my legs out into the aisle were good enough for me. Before the bus screeched off I felt the heat of conversation smothering me once more. My head reeled around towards Areru just in time to direct my focus on her.

My face distorted that to a smirk, which led to a grin, which led to laughter erupting from my vocals. By no means did I want to seem strange, but the courage I had bolstered to request such a date was no means comparable to Areru's blunt courage. "Wow, we're going to run out of dinner conversation before we even get started." I answered smiling at Areru. If that's what she truly wanted to know then surely I would give it to her. "Originally I was born in Konohagakure no Sato before I relocated to Kumogakure. Much of my childhood is pretty difficult to remember for me though I know I was born in the main house of Hyuuga." Other than that I found it difficult to speak even more about myself without looking like some braggart.

"Uhhh, I mean there really isn't too much about me is there? I became chuunin a few months ago. I live in a single bedroom apartment near the upper side of Kumo. Family-wise ... well I really don't have a family. I mean! I'm sure they're around somewhere but I was left on my own when I was younger so I'm not completely sure." My lips tightened as I finished my summary. I really hope I didn't say anything that was wrong or could lower how she viewed me potentially.

"And you yourself Areru? I'm sure your childhood have to be full of extraordinary moments. How about we keep this interesting and you tell me the most embarrassing story about yourself?" Just as my sentenced curbed the bus would lurch forward en route to Kumo. I decided it was best to sizzle the conversation a bit more as I felt a bit more comfortable. Though I fully leaned back against my seat, my arm raised to dangle above and behind it while my head fully looked at her.

She had my undivided attention, that was for sure.

Her seat on the bus allowed her to view the rainy world outside, as she- and Adiemus- sat inside the bus, free from the weather outside that pounded on the earth and on people walking the street- It was a total downpour, but at least they had managed to catch the bus back before it got at its worst. With a hefty boom thunder slowly rolled in to the area, distant at first, although it soon grew stronger- She was pretty sure that they’d be fine though- If there was anything that she was extremely carefree about, it was lightning storms- Even at the worst of them she could still be found outside practicing techniques or simply gazing as the lightning crashed down and thunder made its presence apparent. In that way- She could be described as a storm junkie- Or was it to do with the adrenaline rush she had when she found herself in the middle of a storm? Who knew.

Turning her head from the glass, now frosted with her breath and the warmth of the two in the back, clashing against the cold frame of the bus itself, her eyes would again land on his- She did find it quite strange, him having no pupils- It was.. different to say the very least, but nothing she found creepy or anything. His laugh was heard and she in turn would grin a little at it, and listen to him speak- Of course, she wouldn’t really put him down for thinking that she was older- She’d been told too many times that she looked 18- The girl truthfully only bordering on 17 now. ..So he’s from Konohagakure? she’d ponder as then he’d release the information to her that he was from the main house- The higher up. Of course, she assumed this so since he didn’t bear the so-called mark on his forehead- she didn’t know what it was or what it could do, but she’d read about it.

And then- It was her own turn to speak about herself, he having requested her to say the most embarrassing story- Really? She couldn’t think of that many, usually when she was shamed in front of others she didn’t really.. take it as shame and it was more that she didn’t care- But embarassed for other people, maybe? ”I’ve lived in Kumogakure for my whole life. I come from a family of four brothers and my dad, and I think probably the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to me is, I think I was walking along the street with my last boyfriend a few years back and my two eldest brothers saw us and sort of battered him thinking he was a rapist or something-” It was hilarious- Not at the time of course but afterwards the two of them laughed about it, although she did put it down to her brothers was why the two soon split up days afterwards. ”I don’t really.. have any other embarrassing moments, really.” she’d tell him honestly- She didn’t really care if say, she had a wardrobe malfunction or something like that- It was so minor a deal.

Turning her head away from him for a few moments and back towards the window as thunder continued to roll in, she found content in the fact that she presumed the storm would be right above Kumogakure by the time they would arrive- Or, most storms were positioned around or near the village, so there was no escaping from them at least. ”I guess except for them my life is pretty average, haha. I’m hoping that by becoming Chuunin it’ll open up more things to do- I might go in to ANBU- Perhaps. Are you in any special line of shinobi work?” a slight laugh would be released from her although it soon left as she pondered what they would probably do to Adiemus if they saw him- They would probably think he was a child molester due to the age gap or something and punch him- Of course Areru wasn’t a child, but they still saw her as one- No-one went near their baby sister!

The story she weaved wasn't anything that could fit in a comedy category as he expected. Or at least for the greater half of the story it really wasn't. "What?" I argued, clearly confused at how this story was embarrassing for her. It finally hit me that she probably hadn't really experienced anything she would call embarrassing. But at least this was a clear indication of the ruthlessness of her brothers and their over-protectiveness. Their intentions were probably noble, but the same couldn't be said for their actions. "Areru, I certainly hope this is worth it. It would be a shame to shut down chakra systems."

I'd wink at her casually wondering if she understood my message. It wasn't that I desired to hurt her relatives - I would protect myself though - but I answered my own question with the belief that Areru was likely worth the trouble. But even now in the midst of her calamity, the excerpts that I left out from my biography haunted me. Would she reject me if she knew the truth? Likely, she did seem pretty honest and noble. No, I couldn't tell her. I'd at least wait until we were further down our relationship to reveal the truth.

"Well I hope my circumstance goes a bit better with your family than the last?" My words were optimistic but my mind certainly wasn't. There wasn't any instinct stronger than that of protection, especially when the one being protected was your youngest female sibling. Even though I hadn't mentioned it, I had significant knowledge about this attribute. The conversation bounded forward as she began to speak about professions. They both shared a common goal in desired to become a respected member of Kumogakure's ANBU. "You didn't strike me as someone that was fine with hunting down other shinobi and performing assassination missions. Did I miss something past that smile of innocence?" Albeit I was joking, I was also a bit serious. Areru didn't look as if she would harm a fly. I guess everyone really did have their own secrets.

Her eyes now looking towards the rainy scene that unfolded outside the safety of the bus they were in, she’d listen to the things he was saying, and would return in her own time, but at the same time she was wondering exactly what route to the village this took her- Of course it wouldn’t go the same way that she went, but as long as they ended up somewhere not far off or close by that was good enough for her. ”It would too be a shame to have a dinner-partner paralyzed for the duration of the date.” She’d say, playing on the same way that he had meant his own chakra comment on- Of course, chances were they probably wouldn’t bump in to them- It was only by chance that that even happened really with them all together, so she was sure it wouldn’t jeopardize their meal once they returned to the village- If this guy remembered about it!

Of course she assumed that he would- He didn’t seem the type to make mistakes that easily- A perfectionist maybe? She would only find out as time with him would progress onwards- ”It surely will- They tend to be busier these days now.” she’d tell him in regards to her family. A mob attempt would hopefully not occur, and she could have a nice, enjoyable evening with Adiemus to relax after coming back from the exams. With her head then tilting to the side and continuing to look at the rain outside, it would take her another few more moments before her head would turn again to Adiemus, her brilliant red eyes piercing his own as he’d go on about the fact that she had said she wished to become an ANBU.

"You didn't strike me as someone that was fine with hunting down other shinobi and performing assassination missions.”
”As I said; Perhaps.”

It was a simple response to his comment, but it did make sense- Of course to be an ANBU you did need to be ruthless in assassinating, and she was sure that she could do that. To kill completely innocent people? She wouldn’t do that, but to kill those who have both wronged Kumogakure in one way or another she found alright- But as she repeated- She’d need to mature to get a job like that- a lot. It seemed as if Adiemus himself, despite sarcastic, was mature beyond her belief- But then again he was older than she was, so it was to be expected from him. However, from this point on after receiving the title of Chuunin she’d need to work on her abilities and mental state to assure that she could fit the bill for the ANBU profession- Following in the steps of her second-oldest brother, she wanted to prove herself.

Of course- In some ways Areru was still innocent, she didn’t get sexual jokes and she was childish at times but at others she could be strangely adult like. ”I think that going in to that line of work would be very rewarding. But I need to get training first.” she’d tell him, wondering what exactly he was planning to do once they touched down in Kumogakure. Was he going to go back home to an apparently empty

Everything was fair game in our brilliant conversation, hence I wasn't surprised by her response. We had just met so I couldn't expect any sort of relief. So instead of combating her about whether her siblings could overpower me or not, I lazily reclined with a smile. "I guess your right." My submission was false but I felt that there was some pride worth sacrificing in order to keep our conversation moving. I held my tongue, the desire to back up my words egging away at my conscious. Of course I really couldn't though, for it wasn't in my personality to show off commonly though I considered playing the role to impress Areru. Evidently though my chances of running into any of her relatives were pretty low. It was a fortune though I was really sad that I wouldn't be able to shut down their chakra systems.

"I'll pick you up in front of the academy around eight-ish later." With that said I would give a last wave before departing from the bus.
