Battle at the Katori Shrine! [O]

The Katori Shrine, an ancient temple dating back centuries before this time, many claiming it to have been created near the initial foundation of the Ninja World. The purpose of the cavern is quite important, myths carried through history explaining the location as the final resting place of deity amongst the spiritual realm known as Futsunushi, a man who was once human. This warrior was infamously known for his incredible prowess in the art of swordsmanship and Lightning Release manipulation, also being speculated to be one of the first legendary warriors to give birth to the Village Hidden in the Clouds, Kumogakure. A legend to many warriors in Kaminari no Kuni, many children grew to learn of his name and background, being detailed as "one of Kaminari's greatest combatants". However, despite his grand stories, no corpse can prove this, the explanation used being that while fighting a powerful Fuuinjutsu user, his body and soul was sealed into a mirror, ultimately defining his defeat. To commemorate his epic life, his friends and family somehow retrieved the relic, and built an entire shrine to host this sacred mirror, and to honor his legacy as well. There have been many conspiracies about the magical aura that engulfs the shrine, one being that the story about his body being sealed into mirror was simply a decoy, to prevent his body from being stolen by thieves, and that his actual corpse is somewhere near the shrine. The most recurring and accepted tale is that the Futsunushi has ascended to god-like spirituality upon his death, and blesses those who pray to him within his shrine with "enhanced fighting expertise" during combat. A wild accusation, but many have come to believe the concept as nothing less than legitimate.

Katori Shrine

The location of the shrine itself is built directly into the mountainous forest that overflows Kaminari no Kuni, several directional signs and pathways scattered about to lead any curious wanderers to it's position. The building is several stories tall, the size measuring nearly 3,000 square ft [approx. 30 x 30 square meters]. Emerald paint dresses the ancient wood that structures the building, a massive concrete statue built directly into the center of the building, the width only being 3 meters, while the height reaches nearly 5 meters tall. The lobby is known as a "haiden", or "prayer hall", with the main subject of prayer being this statue. This statue is carved to impersonate a woman sitting in a chair, holding a non-concrete item which is the supposed mirror that hosts the soul of the warrior deity, Futsunushi. The mirror came to be known as the Kaijū Budō Kagami (海獣葡萄鏡), a round cupronickel mirror with a diameter of 29.6 centimeters, and weight of 4.56 kilograms. The mirror is decorated with bas-relief flowers, insects and a variety of real and mythological animals. The remaining area surrounding the statue is graced with beautiful designs, but is clear of any furniture, allowing tourists to gather around the statue and pray if need be. Several monks [B-Rank] recognized by the Thunder Daimyō protect the shrine, making sure to prevent any harm to those who seek the ancient treasure that lies within.

This thread's Difficulty Setting is "Open" as well, meaning Beginner characters cannot be killed, while Advanced can be killed at any moment. However, deaths will only be commenced by PC characters, the NPC opponents are only there for RP purposes.

Though this should be already known for regular T1 roleplayers, you cannot prepare an technique/declare an attack on your first post. This is common sense, gaiz.

Do not control the NPCs. Since I am the creator of this thread, I am in control of them. However, if you create your own NPC, that is completely fine, but be wary that they cannot assist you in PC vs. PC fights.

Satsui was a bit winded as he arrived at the end of the pathway that rested in the dark shade of the mountains. The Genin had heard several rumors concerning a temple of sorts and his curiosity had finally gotten the better of him. It had been a late evening when he'd departed from his ancestral lands and begun sojourning to the place of the shrine and now, only a few hours past dawn, he had come to his destination and was not unimpressed with his surroundings. The building itself was quite beautiful and though the forest seemed to shrink away from the actual structure it was still very much benefited from the light passing through the canopy. A magnificent work of architecture, even now, Satsui couldn't imagine how it must have looked when it was first completed. A dazzling emerald set in the heart of an enormous forest which rose high into the sky though not in a way that demanded pretentious worship. The outside of the shrine was decently humble and the young man felt no hesitation as he approached the main entrance.

The doors were as elegant as they were old and Satsui was gentle as he pressed his bare hands against them. They were cold to the touch; the light of the sun was powerless to send its heat through the dense covering of leaves above. With a measured portion of strength and bravery empowering his small frame, Satsui stepped forward and pushed the mighty doors open. The portal into the main sanctuary released an odor that was genuinely closer to home than any fragrance manufactured by human hands, but Satsui wondered if this was some mysticism or technique meant to discourage one from damaging the shrine. In the shadows, he noted quick yet unidentifiable movements which he determined were the legendary monks meant to guard this place. He wondered what other responsibilities the monks had regarding guests and travelers that came to the holy site seeking something other than spiritual assistance. Satsui had little cause to worry because he intended no harm to the buildings, its inhabitants, or the treasure they guarded but more importantly- he was more skilled than his age and size communicated.

Clearing his mind and returning to the purpose at hand, he focused on the statue that rose up in the distance and started moving in its direction. He had made himself at home with the ambiance exuded by the ancient environment he'd entered although his guard was still up. The feeling of being watched was something no true shinobi allowed themselves to be at ease with, at least, not without knowing who or what was doing said watching. He crossed the main foyer and finished making his way to the statue just as someone was closing the huge doors he'd come in through and, other than the mysterious monks whom he had yet to see clearly, Satsui assumed he was alone in the shrine. As he circled around the marker and gazed with muted appreciation at the way it had been painstakingly crafted there was a sensation that true spiritual awakening could occur if one was willing to give themselves over to it. But, just as shinobi never stopped struggling to win in combat, mankind in general resisted the urge to fully surrender and submit to things greater than themselves. As he completed his circuit around the statue he exhaled, barely audible beyond a few feet, and drew in a breath as he came face to face with his own reflection in the mirror which was cradled in the hands of the concrete priestess before him.

He stood there, momentarily transfixed, as he pondered what truth there could be to the stories of the warrior supposedly imprisoned within the mirror. If one was going to be sealed away in an object for all eternity they could certainly have done worse for themselves. The artifact was lovely not just because of the intricate images which adorned it but also because of the toil and labor that had gone into its very construction. It was simple to see that it was more than just a meaningless task for those who'd created it, but was it truly more than some polished surface to gaze upon one's own image? Only time would reveal what secrets lay beneath the facade of glass and ornament so Satsui quited his mind, while raising his awareness of the massive enclosure and the space within, before bowing his head slightly. His gentle tone belied the intensity of his thoughts as he whispered to whomever, or whatever, could hear him, "Futsunushi, grant me your strength."

It had been quite a while since the Red Fang's master, Hanyo Inuzuka, had left his training compound, which was located elsewhere in the deep mountains of Kaminari no Kuni. However, it had been a special day for the elderly man, informing Goh Tendo and his canine companion, Raishin, of a special location that he wanted to reveal to them. Upon learning of his student's near death experience with the Hachibi, Hanyo couldn't help but feel slightly guilty for their loss, assuming that his previous training methods hadn't been enough. Although there was truly nothing that he could've done to assure that Goh was strong enough to defeat a Tailed Beast by himself, he still understood that nearly losing his life meant he had much more to learn, one believed step to recognizing his growth being to bring the duo to a place of hope and worship that Hanyo once traveled during his youth. This place, known as the Katori Shrine, was the resting marker for the deity "Futsunushi", a man that Hanyo grew to understand as a god amongst the battlefield. Hanyo and his canine companion, Kage, experienced many days praying to this statue during his younger years, and truly believe that this relic was the reason for his survival during many conflicts. Since his retirement from the Kumogakure military, Hanyo found no need to pray to the deity any longer, determining his life to already have been filled with enough battles, expecting no more. However, with his goals now set on confirming the strengthening of the young shinobi, Goh Tendo, he would seek guidance from the shrine once again. "Watch you mouth, Tendo. You are now within the presence of a blessed and very spiritual sanctuary. You will respect it by removing such vulgar words from your vocabulary." The Akakiba couldn't help but obey his elder's command, his eyes shifting to the side in annoyance, but having no choice but to do as he was told. As the group of four approached the voluminous, emerald building, Hanyo would briefly explain the history behind the Katori Shrine and the life of Futsunushi, not hesitating to halt his speech as he quickly acknowledged the guarding monks. Once within the building, Goh, Hanyo, Raishin, and Kage each came to a halt, the grand statue towering in front of them. The white-haired warrior's face lit up in amazement, never before witnessing such an historic item that stood right before him, believing the old man's story to be true. Goh's astonished countenance was reflected in the earthen woman's mirror, the sunlight piercing through the building's windows adding an extra dramatic effect to the overall holy aura that graced the room. Slowly motioning toward the statue, Goh would stop his movement, mere feet from what appeared to be another being in the room. The teenager's words, "Fustunushi, grant me your strength.", was enough to prove to the Inuzukan that he was truly within the presence of this almighty being. Unscathed fortitude overcame Goh's expression, moving directly next to the other teenager as he lowered his head as well, closing his eyes slowly. Inhaling and exhaling the divine air, Goh would waste no time, replicating the warrior's words into his own. "Fustunushi...grant me your strength."

Emotion, Control, Perfection...
The day was warm, the sun beating hot, and the air as stiff as the strongest drink to a newcomer. It was about time, that she had finally, and truly found her way to the location she desired. It was apparent to her, that nearby was a Shrine, built to a man that made war his playmate, and his blade, his second family. It only took her a few moments of traveling to come across to its location, and ascended down from the forest just around the large, and firmly built palace structure. "Seems, like I'm here." she spoke to herself in only that tone, that she could pull off. It was dark, and toned but held a sign of respect but also a strong taste of disrespect deep inside of it. She really didn't mean it, but it was how she had brought herself up. Showing respect to only those, she truly felt deserved it, and to the rest, nothing more then what ever, and sarcastic bold words.

Only taking a few steps forward, towards the large stone built temple, that belonged to the mirror that "held" the real spirit of a war-ridden warrior. It all seemed like nothing more then a fairy-tale, for kids, and adult alike. It might be fun to look at it, at least though. It might prove to be worth something after all, and only though that it could be a fun trip, or vacation for her before she started the work that she came here to do. She had to scavenge the bold surroundings of the Land of Lightning, and hopefully find something to sell back home, in order to live it up for a few small days. After she had moved forward, she embraced her foot against the stone path entrance to the building, and continued to move forward throughout its halls. It was a large building, and decorated to fit the era of time, and the respect for the dead man.

Moving forward even further, she noticed the very delicate craftsman work placed into the shrine, and began to admire what they must have done to make something of this size, and perfection. It all seemed to real to be true, but she had solid proof. She was standing on stone floors, and looking at true mastery in its finest. As she continued onward into the deeper areas of the building, she noticed the fine emerald paint coating the wooden walls of the structure, and admitted to enjoying the very view of it. Though cut short, as she had finally entered the large central hall of the building, and in the dead center. A large statue designed after what seemed, to be a woman, and in her hands. A mirror, it must be the one mentioned in all the stories, and rumors. Could it be real? Could he have really been sealed inside of that thing?

Along with the statue, were two younger men that seemed to be praying, but why? Was it a custom or something of the like to do, in respect? Either way, she made her way into the room along with the other gentlemen, and looked for a place to sit down. After scanning the room for a while, she managed to locate a small wooden bench, and sat down to enjoy the rooms comfort, and view.

Satsui thought he would able to prolong his private chat with the man in the mirror if he got to the temple early enough but other people were beginning to show up and ruin his plan. The first man to arrive had no apparent respect for personal space; even though no rules existed to the contrary it was common courtesy not to run up on somebody while they were praying. But Satsui didn't mind so much because the man who entered his bubble had the smell of a warrior about him. It was all Satsui could do to refrain from turning to the older man and provoking him to fight right away. He hadn't sparred with anyone in days and the hunger of battle had already begun to consume him from within. He made up his mind to continue with his prayer and then wait for the man outside since there should not have been any interference from the monks once both men had vacated the premises.

Another one arrived not long after the first and she seemed out of place amongst the others. While the men had come seeking to be imbued with some foreign power it was as if the female had come only to admire the interior design. Satsui resisted casting a disparaging look in her direction but he could feel himself growing antsy. It was commonplace for him to become agitated when waiting to engage in combat, even if it was only a spar, and he calmed himself knowing that it wasn't the woman's fault he was upset. Yet as he thought about her, he had to wonder what she was actually doing there because she hadn't approached the statue and she appeared to be comfortably content sitting where she was. The entire thing left him somewhat perplexed and he turned his attention back to the other man. He indeed presented himself in the guise of a warrior but Satsui knew what resided on the surface could be worlds apart from the reality of the situation.

For those few moments, he hadn't realized the aggravation he had brought to the mysterious teenager besides him, and had assumed that the position he was standing in was custom for most prayers, and didn't expect the spacial proximity to be an issue. However, Goh's expectations for this fairy-tale warrior had quickly ascended to high standards, his discouragement immediately smashing him hard upon noticing that minutes later, his prayer had done nothing for him. His eyes opened in disbelief, viewing down upon his figure as he raised his arms, questioning what he had done wrong. Being one who sought physical advancement rather than spiritual meditation, the idea of patience was difficult for him, his countenance shifting to annoyance as his body suddenly rotated, turning away from his view of the statue. Raishin, his canine companion, noticed his brother's skepticism, jogging to his side as he whined momentarily, informing Goh that he had lost faith too soon. The request was only met with a smack of his Inuzukan lips, his arms folded and expression displaying absolute rejection. "Pfft! Whatever, Raishin! This is bullshit, just as I suspected!" Luckily for the crimson Inuzukan, his master's attention had moved elsewhere, witnessing a young girl enter the building during his prayer. Upon realizing that it was ideal to leave the Inuzukan student and the mysterious other to their prayer, Hanyo's body motioned towards the seated girl, curious of what would bring such a woman to the haiden. The coal-black canine, Kage, strolled behind in the shadow of the Inuzukan master, releasing itself from Raishin's company as he made sure not to lose sight of him. Silence following their arrival, Hanyo settled himself on the same bench as the mysterious girl, his arms crossed and his single eye implanted on the glorious statue in front of them. The elderly man waited briefly, inhaling the blessed air as he reminisced about the younger days when he once confronted the statue, a slight smile present on his face. Sporadically, words would exit from his mouth, his focus still on the concrete sculpture, but the only person who could possibly hear him would be the woman, his mind hoping she would respond without discomfort. "She's quite marvelous, isn't she? I must say, throughout the many hardened battles I have experienced, I cannot imagine a single moment that I regretted his guidance. Now, I can only hope that he will be as fruitful to others, as he was to me."

Upon arriving in Kumogakure, the Raikage had told Haru he’d be restricted from leaving the village gates during his first few weeks as a citizen. It was understandable, as he’d abandoned his previous village to get there; though, even if it wasn’t he doubted he’d have had the guts to question the masked, red-haired man. At any rate, he had patiently waited it out and the lengthy time period had finally passed; as a result, the young Hyūga could be seen strolling through the heavy, mountainous forests that enveloped the surrounding region.

He didn’t necessarily have a destination in mind as he made his way about, but simply followed the well-worn path that flowed throughout the rugged landscape. He’d notice a few signs, but for the most part freely navigated. Haru enjoyed the idea of being so deep within the nature of Kaminari no Kuni, and would unhurriedly stroll through the land while taking it all in. It was something he hadn’t been able to do on his way to Kumogakure, as he’d been solely focused on finding the village and sheltering himself from the constant thunderstorms.

The weather in the forest was a very satisfying, pleasant cool, and not as breezy as in the village; the young Genin had dressed accordingly — he was garbed in a slender, collared black jacket, slim black pants, and low-cut black nin-sandals. His katana was stretched along his back, a Kumogakure hitai-ate had been fastened to his left upper arm, and his otherwise colorless eyes were hidden behind light-gold contacts. The young Kumo-nin was in high spirits as he journeyed through the forest, and accordingly wore a very content, cheerful expression.

As he continued to make his way along the winding path, Haru would bother to notice markers pointing towards some type of shrine. Seeing as there wasn’t much else to do, the boy would decide to heed the notices and follow them. He’d arrive only minutes later, having trekked through various scattered and obscured pathways. What he found was a large structure that looked to be ancient; he’d curse at himself as he observed it, frustrated and angry at having not taken the time to read about such historic things in Kumogakure no Sato’s library.

Curiosity would overcome the young Genin as he chose to enter the building; though he wasn’t a fool, and would stay ever vigilant, not certain as to who or what could lie within. Upon stepping inside, he’d observe with a surprised expression. However old this place was, it was still very beautiful, in an ancient, antique kind of way; what particularly caught his attention was the statue and mirror at the center. He’d eye it and the people within thereafter; monks here and there, two ninja praying at the statue, and another two talking near a wooden bench.

“wh-what is this place??”

The woman continued to look forward at the walls, not for reasons she understood but because, she felt a strong sense telling her to enjoy the view. As she looked out, she heard the footsteps, and eventual sitting of another person next to her. He looked a bit roughed, and a bit different from what she cared to look at, as he moved towards her. In moments her hand had moved, and focused their attention on the overlapping sleeves of her large under-shirt, and large vest. Just below were several hidden weapons, sealed into her very skin for those moments that she needed something to defend herself with, but she had no real intent to use them.

"It is, well. I believe so, got no real reason why I came here, how about you?" she asked curiously but in a regal tone, while she kept her focus ahead of her, and near the walls of the large building. She was observing every bit of it, and trying to understand the very foundation that it was built upon. Then the mirror really caught her attention, and drew a immediate glare from her before returning her free will.

Alright, unfortunately, this thread has dropped to the point to where the activity is extremely low, and the frequency of posting is too slow to finish [not to mention that my muse to continue GMing this thread is gone]. As a result, I'm exiting. I'll grade everyone who has posted so far, but if you do not wish to exit, you can do as you please.

Satsui had been holding his mud for what seemed like forever but he was nearing the limit of his tolerance. There were opponents all around him and nothing keeping him from giving in to the urges he was feeling. If there was sparring to be had then the heavens could fall as far as he was concerned. Growing in power, martial technique, and battle comprehension had been his goal from childhood and he sought skirmish after skirmish in order to further his abilities. Through this continuous process he had developed an uncanny sense of how powerful an individual was and he began to search out which of the remaining temple-goers would pose the greatest challenge. He wasn't the type to simply assume that the older of the two was the most threatening so he studied them both with eager anticipation and chose.

He turned and stared in the direction of the young Kumo nin and let his head tip to one side as if to voice his doubt in the boy's prowess. Satsui turned back, looking into the mirror once more, before leaping up onto the statue and quickly climbing to the top. He looked down at the Hyûga and then over at the woman wearing the garb of an Iwa shinobi and smiled. Even if he was unable to defeat the young man in a duel, there was always the opportunity to gain some credit for capturing a foreign shinobi. Being that many kunoichi were sneaky by nature and she was far from home it only followed reason that she might have been there to rob the shrine. Satsui drew his sword in the most dramatic fashion he could muster and then swung it low so as to slice the head off the statue. It fell to the ground with a ominous thud :sfx: which echoed loudly in the old, warping temple.

His feet touched down against the cracked, wooden floor, made so courtesy of the decapitated concrete body behind him, just as the noise subsided and he sheathed his sword immediately. He believed this to be sufficient to grab everyone's attention and he gracefully took a seat upon the rounded block beside him.

"To answer your question compatriot, this is a holy place of meditation and one that has been a part of Kumogakure for quite some time and many people come here to reinvigorate their fighting spirit. The fact that you are unaware of the sacred nature of this place and the fact that your hitai-ate shows almost no sign of blemish make me think you may not be from Kaminari no Kuni originally."

He turned to the woman and spread his legs suggestively before fiddling with the head he'd made into his ottoman. Satsui had been somewhat focused on Haru for a while but he was also keeping his senses alert just in case any of the monks wanted to try something.

"As for you miss, you haven't attempted to hide the fact that you aren't from around here which I partially respect. I ask that you remain where you are until I have concluded my business with the young man over there so that we can further discuss what you are doing in this neck of the woods."

He turned back to Haru and stood, choosing to keep his distance for a while, and then he positioned himself with headless statue directly behind him. He was done with the woman for now but he truly hoped she would stick around. It had been some time since he'd been in the company of an older woman . . . .

"I don't know your name and I don't want to know it. But I'm getting some kind of gnarly vibe off you kid. How about we mix it up for a while? All in the spirit of brotherly fun, eh?"

In the meantime of waiting for an answer to his question, the young Hyūga would active his Kekkai Genkai. Small veins at the side of both eyes would instantaneously bulge; he’d then take the next few seconds to inspect the ninja around him more thoroughly. Towards the end of this short time period, he’d begin to hear one answer his question, as well as make the assumption that Haru hadn’t been a Shinobi in Kumogakure for long. However true, the boy would say nothing in response, but rather continue to eye him with an impassive expression.

His attention would momentarily leave the stranger, and move to the girl as he began speaking to her; though, it’d turn back to the ninja once he’d asked to spar. Haru had graduated from the Konoha academy a little over a month ago, and though he’d been through a lot since then, the opportunity to fight as a ninja hadn’t presented itself. It’d been something he’d wanted to try, as he remembered loving the spars he used to partake in. Thus, the boy would step into a Jūken stance as he spoke, ready to begin his first battle as a Shinobi.

“heh, let’s go then.”

• Byakugan (All Seeing White Eye)
  Special: When first unlocked, the Hyuuga may see up to 50 meters, 359 degrees all around them.
  Description: As its name implies, the Byakugan is just that, a featureless white eye that can occasioanlly posses hints of blue-gray and lavender, respectively. When the Byakugan is activated, the user's pupils become more distinct, and the veins near their temples bulge, representing the sudden chakra activation that makes the doujutsu possible. All members of the clan possess and can use the kekkei genkai from birth, as opposed to needing to awaken it. Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. With this vision, the Hyuuga can see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person, and can be improved. Finally, one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow as well as the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail. It is from this particular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style - the Gentle Fist.

Satsui was not so young that he did not recognize the signature stance of the Hyûga clan and upon seeing it there was an immediate strategy change. He usually liked to be as close as possible when sparring so that he could make note of every movement and expression the opposing combatant had. However, in this case, getting close was not going to be in his best interest and so he simply took out a kunai and fiddled with it momentarily. He was keeping an eye on Haru and had some trouble attaching the Exploding Note to the handle but once it was completed he placed the parchment-wrapped grip in his mouth and began to weave handseals. Slowly, he started walking toward the younger Genin yet as he continued to get closer his speed was continually increasing.

The boy eyed the tag as it was attached to the Shinobi’s kunai; however, had been more focused on a short set of handseals he’d began weaving together. Upon completion, the boy would gain control of the air within a five-meter radius of himself, though to his opponent it would look as if nothing happened. By now, his opponent had just bit down on the explosive kunai, and was beginning a set of handseals while edging his way forward. In an attempt to stop him from completing them, Haru’d hastily seize and launch a shuriken aimed for the middle of the foe's torso, directly in between his two hands.

He'd afterward step back into a Jūken stance, his pale eyes closely observing the elder Genin's actions.

  Description: As its name implies, the Byakugan is just that, a featureless white eye that can occasioanlly posses hints of blue-gray and lavender, respectively. When the Byakugan is activated, the user's pupils become more distinct, and the veins near their temples bulge, representing the sudden chakra activation that makes the doujutsu possible. All members of the clan possess and can use the kekkei genkai from birth, as opposed to needing to awaken it. Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. With this vision, the Hyuuga can see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person, and can be improved. Finally, one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow as well as the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail. It is from this particular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style - the Gentle Fist.

Satsui interpreted Haru's attack for what it was; not an actual offensive strategy but seeking to intercede before his own jutsu was completed. He'd always been told that fighting a Hyûga was akin to pulling a sleeping tiger's tail whilst playing a game of Shogi. If everything wasn't done exactly as it should have been, with the proper care and patience, defeat and perhaps even death would swiftly come. However, from what he was seeing, Satsui might have thought he was baiting a mouse to emerge from its hole. This particular mouse had fangs and a wicked set of claws but a mouse is still only a mouse. Satsui doubted whether or not he'd actually been getting the combat craving for Haru or the older woman on the periphery.

The gleam of the shuriken as it followed its course was not something to be doubted and Satsui positioned his wrist to intercept the sinful weapon just before it would have sliced into his robes. At the same moment his jutsu was completed and a blinding flash of light surged outward from Satsui's body. He'd only been able to close the distance between the two of them to just over five meters and the shuriken struck the imperceptible blades hidden on Satsui's wrist and and went spinning away. Satsui once again began weaving kata and continued to approach the Konoha native with the kunai still clenched tightly in his mouth. He wondered whether he would slice or stab Haru if given the opportunity.

Haru’s Byakugan would watch for the slightest hint of movement from the foe as his shuriken neared its mark. Thus, before his bladed wrist had moved with even a small twitch, the boy’s palm would thrust forth. This movement would be made near-instantaneously, this due to him having just stepped into a Jūken stance, but also because, as a Hyūga, taijutsu movements were something he’d worked on relentlessly. As his arm fully extended, a rapid burst of chakra aimed for the middle of his opponent’s torso would be released.

This particular Hyūga technique would use a fairly sizeable amount of chakra, though he didn't feel it mattered as spars like these didn't usually last very long. If it connected, the invisible wave of chakra would not only have the force to knock him back, but also shut off all tenketsu of the affected area, and leave the ninja paralyzed. The blast would be nearly halfway to him as a very sudden, blinding light erupted; he could only guess it to be the stranger’s jutsu, though regardless would leave him disoriented.

Knock-back is determined by halving the user's maximum Palm range. Chakra can pass through solid defenses up to 5 meters, and can damage tenketsu, causing internal damage.
  Description: Once the Hyuuga understands the art of summoning energy all at once into a single, fine strike, they are able to execute with the same precision, but from a distance. Extending chakra from their body, the Hyuuga will thrust their palm at the target, sending out an invisible wave of chakra that can knock the opponent back greatly. Worst of all, should this burst strike the victim's tenketsu, they shall be paralyzed.
