I afforded Atlas the opportunity for expansion ~ something of which he accepted with a hint of delight. And I only wondered what affairs he had awaiting him in my homeland as we migrated even deeper into the sanctuary. The fact that he had called me to Kumogakure in return was not much of a surprise; rather, I was more so looking forward to becoming his right hand while moving throughout the land in secrecy. "Good. It's all settled then." I'd utter shortly, feeling that we were nearing the extent of a dismal passage. And just as suddenly we'd pass into an area where weaknesses in the walls revealed a shining glimpse of the moon.
Fire mane raised his hand as caution, for indeed I wasn't alone in the abrupt feeling of vulnerability that washed over my darling persona. We both felt it ~ the sensation that something unearthly was about to go down. A treacherous sheet of darkness swept across the stone hallway, and soon. . .there was nothing. My breath hastened and my cardinal sight sharpened, for I wasn't enjoying this suspense one bit. Nor had I expected the murder of crows to show themselves in great numbers and engulf us. I placed my arms up in defense, desiring at the same time to block my ears off from the shrill cries of our family's ace predator.
Then the twin red spotlights appeared ~ their deep blooming color almost complimenting my own. But these eyes were matched with a blanched mask and dark hat. Along with him were various shrouded entities surrounding our duo; presumably all Akegarasu as well. And with their arrival came the disappearance of black birds that had just swarmed our position mere seconds prior. To trap us within our own signature spell was certainly mocking ~ just who was this Doctor fellow?"Lady Umeko, Lord Raikage. I am honored to make your acquaintance. My apologies for the crows."
He was right there, only feet in length away. The man whom we had been seeking answers from since the start of all this. But had what he said been the truth? "Raikage?" My bewildered face met Atlas-sama's, the new announcement only now beginning to register in my head. Yet even as I found myself surprised he continued his proposition, relaying to us his true name. "Sasuda..." I whispered to myself, allowing the title to become familiar on my tongue. Cordially he invited my sensei to a private chat, causing my brain to muse over the possible subjects they would discuss. His maroon gaze next met mine, for he desired Akegarasu influence to spread into Iwa. "You are excused Sasuda-san. And though you have yet to attain my full trust I will accept your offer and grant the support of Iwagakure to our clan." I nodded, wondering how he had gained knowledge of our names.
Just how big of a reputation did he have in the ninja world?
