description; One unfortunate disadvantage that Kumogakure no Sato extends is sometimes the jagged peaks drop rocks amongst the Kumogakure no Sato passageways. Sometimes they’re simple small rugged rocks and other times they’re promontory boulders. Sadly when the immeasurable boulders land on Kumogakure no Sato’s passageways it falls upon the Kumogakure shinobi to clear the avenue. With the war ending there are a large amount of pathways that need clearing, unfortunately. So go clear those streets.

Some rainclouds had gathered on the skies above Kumogakure no Sato; it would soon rain. It made the female scowl a little since she was about to do a mission with her senior. Which happened to be the current kage of this village.
'I hope he can make it in time. He probably knows where the statue of the founder of our village is' thought Yukiko as she jumped from a house roof.

Her small body flied through the air before it landed on another roof that was just a couple of meters away. Chakra could make you jump a lot further than most people could anyways. 'Now to find the right street' thought the girl as she looked around.
She then spotted the statue of Kumogakure's founder in front of one of the passageways. A smile formed on her face as she jumped down from the roof.

A small 'tap' was heard as the small Genin landed onto some folded cardboard boxes that laid in a container. She jumped out of it right away before she continued to the street.
Her pale purple jacket was zipped up while her black trousers were tucked into a pair of black wellingtons. The female's light green hoodie was hidden from sight while her headband was tied around her forehead. 'At least I'm more capable of blasting away rocks compared to previous time' thought the brunette.

Some barely audible splashing sounds could be heard as her feet stepped into the small puddles. 'I'm five minutes early...good' thought the girl as she looked at the red watch strapped around her right wrist. Ice blue optics studied the people that passed her; was Atlas nearby? He would be here soon anyways, but she hoped they would finish the mission before it started raining. Bad weather during a mission was troublesome unless the weather could be used to their advantage.

Without a moment to waste, I managed to leap up off of my bed- despite all of my incessant yawning- and get ready for the day. After feeding my dog Wunderbar, then strapping all of my equipment to my frame, I took a slice of toast from my small apartment's kitchen and hurried out the door. It was then that I proceeded to leap over the rooftops of Kumogakure's homes, munching on a piece of toast and butter as I did so, making progress towards the locale where Yukiko wanted us to meet. It was the statue of one of Kumogakure's founders, a prominent figure in the history of my home, and someone I was rather surprised Yukiko knew about. But I supposed the Academy was teaching students much more history than they used to back in the day. In fact, I knew it was true. As I worked in the Academy myself and, after seeing history classes firsthand, had noticed the improvement in our school's structure and content. A leap, a land, a sprint- a rhythmic series of actions that took me across my beautiful home, this cloudy and misty and wet city I was proud to protect and serve. And why was I proud? Well, that was because Kumogakure had taken an entirely new direction after my inauguration as Nidaime Raikage. And no, I took credit at all. This was all due to the mindset of the Cloud village ninja and civilian population. Noticing a smile coming across my face, I mused on the beautiful new direction this proud city was taking, finishing the last of my buttered toast as I continued that rhythm- leap, land and sprint. Then finally, I would drop down into an alley adjacent to the statue where Yukiko was supposed to be. Swiftly, I would chow down the final crumbs of my hurried meal, savoring the creamy butter and crunchy bread whilst sliding into the mild crowd of civilians in the plaza-like scenery and keeping my eyes open for the little one. Within a few seconds, I had managed to spot her petite frame beside the imposing statue. A mischievous smile crossed my face, and though I was unaware of the crumbs of toast on my small goatee, I advanced towards my little sister secretly- using the crowd to my advantage. I approached from the side, reaching the statue then hiding behind a rather portly gentleman as he passed. Then, with all the cheer and surprise I could muster, I jumped up in front of my little sister and flashed her a big grin whilst waving my open hands. "BOO!" I laughed, leaning forwards to reach eye-level and grabbing my knees. Not the best surprise in town, but nor had I planned on scaring her in any way. "Right on time, kiddo! I didn't scare ya, did I?" I said merrily, the crowd moving behind me, the statue's light shadow looming over us. I was ready and eager to start our mission whenever she was ready. made by renni

'Hm? Is not that senpai?' thought the female as she saw a person with his haircolour in a crowd of office workers that passed the statue. But the person had disappeared just as fast as it had appeared...maybe it was just someone who looked like him.
"BOO!" yelled the male who suddenly jumped right in front of her. It was not the smartest decision since Yukiko did not react to loud sounds that well.

"GYAAAAH!" screamed the girl as loud as she could in order to scare off the person. When she realized it was Atlas, her face turned bright pink in shame. "Right on time, kiddo! I didn't scare ya, did I?" inquired the young man.
"Just don't do it again...I HATE it when people jump in front of me when they scream" said the Genin with a flustered face.

"Sorry about screaming at you. I'm kinda sensitive to loud sounds and I tend to scream every time I get frightened like that. Thank Kami that there were nobody around us...maybe they would have thought you were a kidnapper" muttered the female.
But it was time for the shinobi duo to focus on the mission they had received earlier today; they had to clear some passageways. "Do you have any idea where we should go senpai?" asked the brunette as she looked at her mission partner.

There were plenty of passageways around Kumogakure no Sato; they were a village situated among some tall mountains after all. Some of these passageways were actually tunnels that had been created during one of the previous wars. "I'm not sure if I can carry large rocks, but I have some explosion tags we can use. I'm afraid I don't know a lot of jutsus we can use...I only know lots of Yukina stuff" informed the girl.

Some of the ice jutsus could be used to make a dent on the smaller rocks, but the bigger ones needed something stronger. 'I know that senpai knows raiton jutsus. But I don't know if that can help us with the rocks...perhaps he has lots of explosion tags. Or some of those explosive pouches that dad has' thought the Genin as she looked around. A mission like this was quite important for the village, despite that it had a low rank.

Her scream had really caught me off guard, as I hadn't expected my half-hearted attempt at surprise to have such an impact on her. When she apologized for her outburst, I shook my head. "Don't worry about it, okay? I won't do that again if you don't like it. I just thought that it'd be nice having a bit of fun after you've scared me a couple times before." I added, straightening my posture and sighing. "But enough about that, huh? Let's head off on our mission now. We don't want to waste any time." With that being said, I started to walk, with Yukiko in tow, towards our destination. As I was sure she had read in the mission report, the rocks we were tasked with clearing had blocked off a vital street in Western Kumogakure, one that helped our goat ranchers cross the boundaries of our secluded village into a neat little plain hidden within the mountains. If those rocks were not cleared by today, the fate of these hungry goats laid in the balance. As we walked, Yukiko would then voice out her concerns. I'm not sure if I can carry large rocks, but I have some explosion tags we can use. I'm afraid I don't know a lot of jutsus we can use...I only know lots of Yukina stuff. "That's alright." I replied, turning slightly to glance at her and flash a smile. "I've got an idea that might help us." As we approached the base of a tall business building, its wall flat without any nooks and crannies hidden about, I started to jog. "C'mon, kiddo." I chuckled, turning my jog into a full on sprint. "We want to make it there quickly, remember?" With great fervor, I ran towards the building, leaped just before hitting its wall, and scaled its side- the chakra gathered effortlessly at my feet keeping me connected to the wall as I ran upwards towards the roof. Upon reaching the edge of said roof, I'd leap up into the air, then land with a dull thud on top of the business building. I'd wait for Yukiko to emerge before continuing. "Consider this a warm-up exercise." I smiled, looking over my shoulder at her. "I'll make sure to keep you within sight; and I can promise you I won't be running too fast. Unless you want to race, of course." I added that last bit with a coy smile. And so we were off, running in unison above the rooftops of Kumogakure's homes- sprinting, leaping, landing and climbing. And the faster we went, the more progress we made, the sooner we reached our destination. Off in the horizon, a small canyon that permeated the border of Western Kumogakure into somewhat rural territory. Soon we would find that cobble-stone road- that cut between pine trees and cabin homes- and the rocks that were blocking it as it slithered through into a murky canyon. Surely, the ranchers would be there waiting for us- maybe with their goats, maybe not. But then again, how was I to know? For now, I would simply enjoy the thrill of running across rooftops with my self-proclaimed 'little sister'. made by renni

"That's alright. I've got an idea that might help us." replied the male as he flashed a smile towards her. Ice blue spheres lit up when they heard this; maybe this would take a lot shorter time than usual.
Atlas started to jog as they reached one of the tall business buildings in this districts and Yukiko tried to keep up with him. "C'mon, kiddo...We want to make it there quickly, remember?" chuckled the young man before he cranked the speed up to the max.

Slight despair went through the girls body since there was no way she could run as fast as the Chuunin in front of her. He jumped onto the building and started to run towards the top of the tall construction. "Kami..." muttered the small Genin as she begun her jog to the top in a noticably slower pace than the male. She already felt a burn in her lungs since she was not in as good shape as the other brunette was. Not to mention that her legs were quite a lot shorter than his.

After some time had passed, the female had reached the top of the building. The burn in the lungs had subsided a bit since the brunette had slowed down a little bit.
"Consider this a warm-up exercise. I'll make sure to keep you within sight; and I can promise you I won't be running too fast. Unless you want to race, of course." said the young man as he looked at her over his shoulder.

"I DON'T want to race; I'm already a bit tired" replied the girl as she tried to regain some breath to continue their trip. At the positive side, the view from this building was quite nice. She could see pretty much the entire city center of Kumogakure from here as well as the closest suburbs.
They started to roof jump once Yukiko had gotten her breath back. Roof jumping was not that hard for the female since she was more used to that than climbing up buildings.

A small canyon that was on the western border of the village came closer to them as they continued their roof jump trip. 'I bet this is where we have to do remove the rocks' thought the Genin as she landed on the roof that belonged to a small grocery shop. They landed on the ground and started to walk on a small cobble-stone road.
Pine trees as well as some cabins decorated the landscape; it looked like they had reached the countryside. Suddenly, the girl spotted some people who stood in the far distance.

"Are those people our clients or something senpai?" inquired the brunette as she pointed at the people that stood quite far away from them. As they came closer, the female was able to see that the group consisted of three adult men dressed in somewhat worn-down clothes.
'They look a bit like farmers' thought Yukiko as she noticed that all of them had stuffed their trousers into their knee-high wellingtons. She noticed that there was a pile of rocks that blocked the cobble-stone road that continued into the canyon. 'Maybe they're going to take their animals back to the farm...there are probably some farms on the other side' thought the girl.

I replied, smiling a little at the sight of noisy goats. I had not seen such livestock since my previous escapade in Kuma no Kuni, my homeland. "And I'm willing to bet that nasty little sight of rocks blocking the canyon passage is what we have come here to erase." Patting my young imoto on her shoulder, I ushered her onwards. "C'mon," I grinned. "Let's help out these kind folk." With that, I would stride towards the clients with Yukiko in tow, boots tapping against the wet stone path beneath our feet. I was still brainstorming ideas in my mind as to how we were going to get rid of the problem presented before us, but I had a pretty concrete and plausible option I planned on letting my companion on soon enough. When we reached the three humbly dressed men at the base of the canyon entrance, huddled amidst their hungry livestock, I gave a brief wave in introduction. "Hi there. Me and my companion here were sent by the mission compound in Kumogakure to lend a hand. I see you got yourselves quite the issue here, I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Standing directly in front of the large rock slide that had proven to block the entire road, I gauged the height and durability of such a natural occurrence- and what it would take to knock it down. I had one particular technique I was quite sure would be capable of knocking it down a peg, but I was sure I would need Yukiko's help in the matter. The men introduced themselves as Gunther, Jake and Finn. And after expressing my pleasure in meeting them, I would then continue on to accomplishing the task we were set out here to do. "Nice to meet you, fellas. Now... if you could just step away from this rock slide several meters..." When they complied, retreating with their goats in tow to a plain field behind us, I turned down to Yukiko with a devilish smile. "Ready to knock down some boulders, kiddo?" Leaning downwards, reaching eye level with my little sister, I would inform her on my plan. "Now... I was thinking, perhaps, that you might be able to give this rock slide a good freeze. It might just make the structure of it a bit weaker, you see. Then I plan on hitting it with an explosive lightning technique I recently learned- to which I'd advise stepping back a few." I chortled. Straightening abruptly, I raised a single finger. "But this, of course, cannot be done without your help." I took a step back, gazing at the rock slide once more. "Of course, if you have any other ideas, I'm more than open to hear them." The plan seemed to be coming into fruition, but now it was Yukiko's call. I would simply watch with a smile as she would continue on to do her own thing, and in the meantime keep in the mind the ranchers and livestock that waited in the background. They had their own lives to return to, their own duties to accomplish, and I didn't want to hold them up any longer. I then found myself recalling my life in Kuma no Kuni, my own attendance to the livestock there. That was a life I had not seen in a long while... a life of peace and tranquility. Perhaps, one day, i could return there. I snapped out of it. No, back to the mission at hand. I didn't have time to muse on the past, or plan the late future just yet. For now, we had a rock slide to destroy. Those thoughts of peace could wait until later. made by renni

"Hi there. Me and my companion here were sent by the mission compound in Kumogakure to lend a hand. I see you got yourselves quite the issue here, I'm sorry for the inconvenience." informed the male as they went over to the three farmers. They presented themselves as Gunther, Finn and Jake. The female looked at the stone right afterwards...it was HUGE.

Atlas then turned to her with his usual devilish smile. "Now... I was thinking, perhaps, that you might be able to give this rock slide a good freeze. It might just make the structure of it a bit weaker, you see. Then I plan on hitting it with an explosive lightning technique I recently learned- to which I'd advise stepping back a few." suggested the young man.
"Sounds good to me; I just have to come up with a technique that I can use" replied Yukiko with a small smile on her face.

'Hm...I have to FREEZE the rock somehow. But it is quite big though, so it won't be easy' thought the girl as she walked around it with a serious look on her face. Using the yuki tessan was out of question since that would hurt her as well.
"I think I'll use my ice swallows and cover the whole rocks first. Stay back please" said the Genin as she formed some handseals with her small hands.

"Hyouton! Tsubame fubuki!" exclaimed the female as she formed the last handseal of the jutsu. Forty ice swallows appeared out of thin air before they surrounded the large rock.
On the brunette's signal, the flied straight into the rock one by one. It did not take long until the whole rock had been covered in what appeared to be forty snowballs.

"I'm sorry senpai, but that was all I could come up with. The other jutsu would have hurt me in the process" said the girl with a sour/sad look at her face. But the alternative to this was not much better since it could perhaps kill her.
She then stepped back so her senpai was able to use his jutsu on the rock. 'I wonder what kind of new jutsu he has learned' thought Yukiko with a curious look on her face.

It was impressive, the sight of that many ice swallows materializing in the air, having come from the chakra-fueled efforts of my little sister. She was certainly talented, I knew that much. I could only imagine how strong she'd become as she grew older! And when the ice swallows she had formed crashed into the designated portions of the rock slide we sought to knock down first, the result was even more astonishing. The icy explosion of snow covered the rocks, fell from the sky in a light drizzle of flakes. And, when it was all over, the sight of pure white covering the now partially frozen rocks in front of us. Luckily for us, Kumogakure had particularly cold weather, and it would prove to sustain the icy advantage we had sought to attain. Now came my part in the play- the execution of my explosive technique. Time was a'wastin! When she apologized for the supposed undesired result, I quickly corrected her. "No, no- don't worry about it kiddo." I assured her with a smile. "This is more than enough- trust me." I looked upon the icy face of the rock slide ahead of me, the hidden trail that lay beneath it. Taking a few steps backwards, and ushering my little sister to follow, I would begin to gather the chakra within my body consciously. There it was, my snow-covered target, and soon the technique that boiled within my body would be unleashed. Now: the hand seals. A quick shift of my hands would begin the convergence of my fingers, forming symbol after symbol, until finally I landed on the last. The Dragon would be the finishing blow, the one that sparked the electricity in my pool to life. The one that started the birth of the gargantuan Karasuhebi no Jutsu (Thunder Style – Shocking Snake Technique). Yukiko and I were at such a distance from the materializing electric blue snake that it would not harm us- its coiled body forming in between me and the rock slide ahead. But the chirps and crackles of electricity were still a bit sharp and loud at this distance, and the pure heat of it all could be felt as a warm blanket around our bodies. When the snakes electric head came into being, its mouth hissing and drooling with thunderbolts, my devilish smile became a dastardly grin. "Go!" And with my command, the massive electric snake would go, crashing head first into the rock slide and the portions of snow that covered it, an explosion and flash of electricity covering the area we had been standing in previously. Immediately, a cloud of dust had been thrown up into the air. It died down before it could reach us, or the ranchers behind us, but it was enough to cause me to rub my eyes a little. After the dust cleared, the aftermath of it became clear. The entire top half of the rock slide blocking the canyon passage had been cleared, the rocks reduced to small rubble and thrown backwards. Now the rock slide that was still there was shorter, enough for us (even the ranchers) to climb over. But probably not short enough for the goats to do so, despite their mountainous efficiency. And what of later travelers, with wagons or carts? Though my previous technique had given it some damage, or job here was not yet done. "Hm." I said rather placidly, observing my 'work'. "Seems like that wasn't enough, huh Yukiko? We should clear the rest of it for later travelers. Do Kumogakure some good." I smiled. made by renni

"No, no- don't worry about it kiddo. This is more than enough- trust me." informed the male. He then stepped back to prepare his ninjutsu while the farmers looked at the snow covered rock in wonder.
Some crackles could be heard, which annoyed the female a little bit. She did not like loud or sharp sounds like this that much.

"Go!" muttered Atlas with a slightly evil grin on his face. A large snake made entire out of lightning emerged from his hand, aiming for the rock they were supposed to get away from the road.
Yukiko gaped at the sight since she had never seen anything like this before. 'I had no idea that you could form such large creatures with chakra!' thought the girl while she saw the snake crush the rock. The large stone had now crumbled into many smaller stones that they had to clean up.

"Seems like that wasn't enough, huh Yukiko? We should clear the rest of it for later travelers. Do Kumogakure some good." said the young man. "I suppose..." muttered the Genin as she looked at the stones.
She started to carry as many small stones as she could before dropping them at one side of the road. There was nothing there but gravel, so the female did not have to worry about crushing plants or anything like that.

The farmers decided to help them out a little bit since that would go faster. "You can take as many large pebbles as you can girl. They aren't any good for cart wheels ya know" said one of the adults.
"OK sir" replied the brunette while she looked at the ground. She started to pick up as many large pebbles as she could and ran over to the other side to drop them. It was a bit of a downside that there were quite many pebbles though.

'Hey, at least it goes faster since they aren't that heavy' thought the girl as she started to load up her palms again. It was not that bad since the farmers would pay them 1000 ryo each for doing this mission. Not to mention the rank of this mission; it was a relatively pain-free "C"-rank compared to the building one for instance.
'I'm lucky to have senpai on my team though...he's a really good shinobi' thought Yukiko. She ran over to the roadside and dropped one of the last loads with pebbles there.

I would, of course, start with the larger stones, heaving them up with all of the strength I could muster and tossing them aside on the sides of the road. And I'd carefully watch as Yukiko commenced to do her own work as well, ensuring that she would not injure herself with rocks that looked far too large or heavy for her to carry. Our work was relatively easy, despite the fact that I was handling rocks nearly twice my size- but luckily for me, in a way, I had endured far more excruciating training before. Soon, this act of picking up and tossing the rocks aside became a rhythmic procedure that I was doing with nearly zero conscious thought. Though I had not intended to, this time of thinking soon led me back to the prospect of my homeland- Kuma no Kuni. When I would return there, what I would do then... but that all depended on when I would find the answers here in Kumogakure first. It could take years. Decades, perhaps. But I wouldn't leave this land, this country, before attaining what I had sought. Rock after rock, and the road was becoming more and more clear. Soon enough, our job here would end. Traces of the trail that had once been shrouded by the rock slide were finally coming into view, the anxious and work-hungry ranchers behind me waiting in anticipation as me and Yukiko continued. Within a matter of a few minutes, we would finish. The road, finally cleared, was open for business once more! "There you have it." I grinned, slapping my hands together and swiping off the dust from my palms as I turned to the ranchers behind me and Yukiko. "You're all set to go, guys." After accepting their thanks with my little sister by my side, I would give them a brief salute as they passed by with their goats and past the cleared path. "Good travels to ya." As their figures disappeared over the horizon of the canyon passage, I would sigh. Yet another mission had been completed. Or had it? The sound of crumbling rocks could be heard from up top the cliff sides- something was awry. Before I knew it, parts of the cliff were beginning to crumble, to fall, like a domino effect, and I knew that if it wasn't stopped soon- somehow- that the road we had just cleared would be blocked by yet another rock slide. But exactly how could one stop weak rock from falling? We'd have to think fast for this! made by renni

The road was cleared about twenty minutes later since everyone put in an effort. "Looks like you're good to go now!" announced the female with a somewhat childish grin on her face. "You're all set to go, guys." informed the male after the men had thanked them. "Have a safe journey" said Yukiko as she waved them goodbye. The trio gathered the goats before they went to the other side of the canyon.

"Senpai? I've decided to buy a map with the money I've earned on our missions so far" informed the girl as she looked up at him with a small grin on her face. A map was expensive but could come in handy for the future.
"That way, we can take missions outside Kumogakure without getting lost! Wouldn't that be great?" exclaimed the Genin as they went back to the main district of Kumogakure.

All of the missions had given her a nice sum of money that she could use to buy a map. The female was not sure what she should buy until recently since her parents had told her to not waste her money. But a map would be a good investment, particularly for future missions.
'Senpai promised me that he would try to do missions with me when he could. And I really love doing missions out of the village' thought the brunette with a smile.

Most of the streets were rather crowded since people had finished their work at this hour. Not to mention that it was Friday, so many were probably going out with friends. Her parents did that once a month while the girl and her little brothers stayed at their uncles house.
"Senpai? Do you have any friends who live in this village?" inquired Yukiko while she looked up at him.

Atlas had never told her about things he did with his friends in his spare time. She had told him some of the stuff, like the time when she attended Ami's birthday party back in August. But maybe the young man watched movies she was not old enough to watch or stuff like that.
Which would make it rather hard to discuss it with the female since she was only ten. Well, almost eleven since her birthday was only three weeks away.

Our walk back to Kumogakure, after the completion of our somewhat eventful and dazzling mission, was a peaceful one. When she informed me on the matter of buying a world map to travel to places outside of Kumogakure, I smiled in reply. It was nice to know my little sister had such aspirations. The fact that some of those aspirations related directly to missions had me a little worried, sure, but her talent put that worry to rest. Maybe it was time I started treating Yukiko like a fully capable shinobi. Yes, to me, she was on the same level as a little sister. Someone I had desired to keep away from the treachery of war, the treachery of this world. To protect, to teach, to guide. But she was growing up, and I would have to learn to accept the fact that she was becoming more and more capable of taking care of herself. That feeling, like time would undoubtedly pass in the blink of an eye, was caught in the back of my mind- lingering, ever-present. For now I could enjoy the here-and-now, however. Doing missions like these, teaching Yukiko new things. That was good enough. I nodded happily to her as we made our way onto a stone-paved boardwalk, heading towards the bustling and lively center of Kumogakure. "That'd be swell- taking some trips out of Kumogakure and into the other countries. We can definitely do that." I added with a wide grin. It was all a matter of finding extra time, arranging a schedule, getting things together. As we entered a bustling crowd, headed to the mission compound, then later another mission, I listened as Yukiko voiced another question. "Friends?" I repeated, keeping a steady stride as I made sure she was right beside me. "Yeah. I've got a good handful. Although, to be honest, they're probably not the sort of company you'd think I'd keep." I chuckled, reminiscing on that late night venture to the club a few weeks back. "Why do you ask?" I replied, gauging our location as we continued. It was indeed a question that seemed to have come out of the blue, but I didn't mind answering it. "Friends?" Yeah. I've got a good handful. Although, to be honest, they're probably not the sort of company you'd think I'd keep." chuckled the male as they went through the streets. The female raised an eyebrow at that comment; what sort of people could that be?
"Why do you ask?" inquired Atlas as he looked at her. "Just wondering...you just haven't told me much about your friends" said Yukiko and shrugged.

'Maybe his best friends are criminal people...naaah. He's not that kind of person' thought the girl as they walked through the crowd of people. She did however remember their meeting with the Uchiha for a couple months back; he appeared to be a mysterious guy.
'Perhaps he's hanging out with people who aren't shinobis or have other professions. Makes sense since he haven't lived here for that long' thought the Genin with a smile. She could relate to that since she was not a Kumogakure native either.

"Oh, there's the mission compound! Let's get the reward before we go home for today" suggested the female as she saw the familiar building at the next block. If the young man agreed, she would walk straight into the mission compound to get her reward.
'I hope we gotta do a mission out of the village soon. Particularly since the winter is setting in' thought the brunette as she came closer to the compound.
