Pulling said gate open with a sharp creak, I entered the coliseum territory. The air in the stone passageway was musky and cool, the breeze from the end of the hallway softly sweeping through with the fragrance of pine and wet concrete. Running my finger across the smooth passageway wall as I walked, I examined the architecture of yore with observant emerald-colored eyes. The coliseum had not been used for over a hundred years- and it showed, inside and out. The walls within the passageway were cracked and cruddy, but obviously still capable of maintaining the beauty of this structure intact. Reaching the end of the tunnel, towards the drab light at the end, I began to muse about my recent promotion to Raikage. The meeting had gone by quicker than I had initially expected, the conversation short and straight to the point. I couldn't say those old men in the council liked me much, but did I really care? I'd been specifically recommended by the previous Raikage- one Aburame Shouta- to become this village's leader. And when it came down to it, the council here was nothing more than a group of advisories and debaters. There were remarkable things I had planned for Kumogakure so far, things I hoped to accomplish within my first year as the seated Niidaime. I can't wait to show this place what I can do. The soles of my black boots rapping against the stone floor ended as soon as I breached the sandy territory of the center arena. My eyes were graced with the sight of the ashy gray sky above, a stillness in the air only rivaled by the comforting cool. Striding through this long unused gladiator arena, I stopped in the center and gave a deep relaxing sigh. All around me, seats carved in stone. I could only imagine the multitude of people that used to attend the battles here, their cheers and roars. The thunder of combat. All that was left now was a natural silence and the remnants of what it used to be. I stretched my arms upward with a huge lion-like yawn. I needed to move, lest I fall asleep now. Hopefully little sister had received the letter I'd sent via pigeon this morning, inviting her to come to this very coliseum to train. It was still before noon, and there was plenty of time to do so yet. But if she didn't arrive soon, I supposed I would have to start on my own. Glancing around, I marveled at all the space available here. While I waited for Yukiko, I would set up a few obstacle courses and games to be utilized for our training- with whatever I could find in this seemingly barren area. Taking notice of the pine trees looming behind the south coliseum wall, sticking out like large weeds between the cracks in a sidewalk, I would gather the ideas and come up with some concrete things I could prepare for the young genin when she arrived. I guess this is where I start being a teacher! made by renni | [atrb=valign, top] bad wolf. bad wolf. bad wolf. bad wolf. |
