The rain put a familiar feeling to her senses; the moistness, the smell. With a small black umbrella, Jai-Lin proceeded to a residence; for her ‘mission.’ Her black shoes scoffed against the wet paving of the sidewalk, and her eyes were following the building side for an address marker. So she was going to baby-sit children, which seemed to be embarrassing. But someone had to do it, and Jai-Lin could use a regular job as of lately. Most of the missions turned into some sort of brawl. Plus, she got to spend a few hours with children. When you’re a ninja, you spend so much time with angry people, and generally other shin obi. Hopefully this would supply her with some fun, and money as well.
She felt strange, not in her usual attire. Her shirt was now sleeveless, wit a similar crossing in the front. She was unable to really hide weapons now, just her leg pouch. But it didn’t matter anyways, considering Jai-Lin was a fist fighter generally. There was serious doubt in her mind that she would need to really use any weaponry though.
“732 Sakura street…” She repeated to herself, looking up the street to the rows of houses. They all looked similar, but their numbers were all she needed. Finding the right house, hopefully, she closed, and shook off her umbrella. The tiny porch had two concrete steps on it, and just below the door, a blue welcome mat. She cocked her head slightly, but shrugged. As the rain and wind picked up, a small wind chime sung. Jai-Lin’s hand reached to knock on the door, but before she even knocked, it swung open, loud hinges creaking. A short woman answered the door. She was obviously going out, being gussied up with her hair in curls.
“Thank lord!” She smiled, as if Jai-Lin were a savior or something of that sort. A feeling of fear shot down her spine. At that moment, she realized the mission request had not said exactly how many children she would be taking care of. But, seeing it as being silly to worry about that since she was a kunoichi, she entered. She automatically kicked off her wet, muddy shoes, not wanting to make it discussing. “So, My oldest is Daichi, he is six…” She began to speak, but Jai was only half listening, because she was inspecting the house. Generally it was well kept, with a few messes here and there. “And Hana is four… And then the baby…” She continued, laying on the pressure. The woman left rather quickly.
