A Mission for a Hoshigake [D-Rank]

One solution the Raikage has exposed is providing the shinobi with fun while being capable. The mission is simple, capture four fish for Kumogakure’s food supply.

Was this village serious? Catch fish for the town's food supply? How could he have not seen this mission in there earlier? It just made sense for him to attempt it, it would have been pretty stupid for the half shark hybrid to go for land mission when a aquatic one was right here. He smiled at this chance to make some easy money and beneath his grin sat a somewhat malevolent smile, as if he found a mission to abuse. He now, had a permanent paycheck.

Approaching the lake with a smile, the young Hoshigake was already stretching and warming up, throwing his broad shoulders forward and backwards as he swung his arms in wide motions. Stomping his legs as he walked a few extra steps, he aimed to get the blood circulating within them as he did so. Seeming all pumped up and ready to go on this mission, it was almost as if he was becoming giddy, but he didn't have strong enough positive or negative emotions for that. But he was pretty damn close!

Finding the massive expanse of the lake to be a great marvel, it's pristine and seeming well cared for body maybe Nat drool slightly at it's sight. He hadn't visited this lake very often, there was a lot of water here, he probably should. He missed simply being able to swim about in the the crystal clear liquid, having all his worries fade into nothing within the sublime feeling of his natural habit was just...Amazing. Looking deep into it's depth, Nat felt as if he could get lost in it forever.

Seeing the fishing pole on the ground, Nat was very accustomed to finding a man or woman who wuld give him exactly what they wanted him to do. Unfortunately he saw no such person, only a fishing rod with a piece of paper attached onto it stating to use this rod when fishing. Looking at it, it was clearly a broken piece of bamboo with what seemed like a ripped string someone's old clothes. Looking at the somewhat ghetto rod, Nat just blinked several times, unsure how to handle this situation. Looking onto the hook it was pretty much a Z shape, heavily rusted and seemed really worn down from age, water and...fish mouth. He kicked over the pole and with a twitch or two began to move away from the abomination.

Nat would have undressed, but come on, he had nothing to fear, wet clothes just meant he would be cooler for a little longer in this humid area. He hadn't had a chance to swim in so long it was starting to make him a bit down, the giddy feeling, he was unsure how long this would last, but he knew he was going to enjoy this little "Mission". Nat took a few steps back and made a handseal, his lungs switching over to his gills, taking up a good amount of time to do so,and while he waited he decided to walk around the lake for a bit to find a good spot.

Searching up and down the large lake, Nat's eyes scanned the area. Their perception having increased after almost going completely berserk along the hillside not to far from here. He found it easy, noticing every small ripple the fish made as they swam beneath the water, very close to it's surface. Watching the water move, this lake was actually pretty populated, it was weird that they needed more food when fish were just about jumping from the water for space. Nat loved it, it was nice, for such an intimidating beast he sure did have a soft spot for seeing things prosper.

Finding breathing becoming rather difficult, he realized his Jutsu, although it took some time, was now beginning to take effect. In doing so he was going to become able to breathe beneath the water as most Hoshigake can. Although his Transition was not as smooth as most hoshigake should, he was finding it quite difficult to properly train himself in techniques he did not have anyone else to teach him. He shrugged it off as he got his mind straightened, feeling someone strangled by the feeling of being on the land for this long with his jutsu activated, he had to jump in before he got caught up in his thoughts any longer.

Taking a step backwards, Nat lunged as he prepared to take yet another set of steps forward before he leapt high into the air and swan dived right into the water. The feeling of the liquid substance passing his gills gave him a rather life filled feeling, although it should be the same as on land. He couldn't help it, he felt so at home, lifelessly floating within the water. His movement was unhindered and his vision was coming in handy. He was feeling more and more like at home as he spun and appeared like an arrow cutting through the water. Removing his scarf as he twirled it seemed like a ribbon dance as he moved, catching the loose end with another hand as he moved towards the school of fish nearest the center of the lake. The inflated Scarf worked as a net as he captured a series of fish in a quick motion. It was a good thing he was faster beneath the water than out of it. Looking at his scarf he had obtained 3 fish, 1 more and he was set.

He swam back to the coast and decided it'd be best to keep along it so he could leave once he obtained this last one. But few fish were near this rocky wall, making it a little more difficult to catch them. Thinking it'd be easier to simply go back to the center, Nat saw a single fish swimming about 3 meters off the shore. It was eating a few of the plants along the rocky edge. Nat smirked and felt like a true predator, He stalked the prey, moving slowly towards the edge as he watched and let the tension build. Pressing his legs against the harden wall, the pressure he placed on it was enough to keep him from slipping against the slimy wall. It was time to hunt.

Licking his lips, Nat was beginning to feel more and more like a shark, more and more like a Hoshigake, More and more like...himself. This was truly amazing for him, he never felt this alive in a while, his usually indifferent demeanor became a lot more alive and full of spirit as he watched the fish chow down, knowing it would be his last meal. He smirked harder and for a moment began to laugh, he wished Jai Lin was here to see this.

" Say Hi to the birdy..."

Pushing off the wall, the predator moved much like a bullet in the water, no longer as graceful, but a lot more intimidating, a lot more him It was invigorating, he was free and no longer constrained by fitting in with society like his parents had told him to be. He felt as if he was becoming a stereotype, but that could be because they were free. If freedom was a stereotype he would happily live it each and every day of his life.

Catching the fish was no problem, his teeth digging into the fish's tail as he continued to fly past the target and fly almost to the other end, swimming happy and free, he had completed the mission, how long he'd stay, he was unsure, but he was having fun.
