Now now now, she hadn’t exactly been on any mission before in the past where it held a risk of death, and she hadn’t exactly seen what a mine looked like in the past. So, this would no doubt be quite the new experience for her. Walking near the village gates where she was to meet the man who was going to tell her exactly what to do if she managed to find a mine, Areru would soon approach the dark brown haired shinobi who was going to instruct her on today’s mission. ”Hey! I’m here about the mines?” she’d ask, looking at him with her blood red eyes as he’d stare back with his own hazel ones. ”Right- Here’s a brief outline of where exactly the mines are- I’m sure that you can get them done.” the guy would tell her as he’d hand her a piece of paper that bore a faint image of the village, with X’es where the mines were located. According to this, there was one just a little while near them.

Nodding her head, he’d then speak: ”This won’t be exactly all that easy- You’ll have to break open the earth really gently so that you don’t trigger the mines, and then you’ll have to remove them- You could possibly get you arm blown off but y’know, try not to..” words of wisdom from a man who no doubt had been doing it for a while, seeing that he had both of his arms intact did help her mentally- At least she only had one chance of getting her limbs blown off by the mines. She was a careful person although her nature was carefree, so she was one to go through things carefully to prevent making mistakes. She would pray, that her good luck regarding this would stick through this mission.

”Alright- How easy are the mines to trigger?” she’d ask the all important question- If they responded by touch then she might as well just go home now- However- ”Not incredibly easy- If you would say, step on it it would trigger, if you pick it up very gently without making it fall or anything you should be fine.” another wave of relief hit past her as he spoke this, glad that it wasn’t something so easily disturbed- Or, sure enough it was easily disturbed if you placed your foot down on it but whilst removing them, the thing she’d have to watch out for would be of course removing it after digging down thinly in to the earth to retrieve it.

But, she was sure that she’d be able to get it done. Being given the equipment that she needed, and the map of the mines around the village, she’d then walk towards the closest one which seemed to be under the earth, and yet also barricaded around it with hazard lights to prevent the public from stepping on it on accident- There was a slight lump in the earth where it had gone, so it was a sure sign that it had been there. Approaching it and kneeling down as she’d squeeze past the hazard lights, her thin frame making it easy for her, she would look at the lump of earth for a few moments, contemplating how exactly she was going to go about taking it out of the earth. ”..Hm” she could safely say that she had never imagined herself doing this before.

It was difficult for Kaeor to believe that after he had completed one mission the Raikage's receptionist would strongly urge him to do another. Usually he would just put it off until later but she didn't seem in the mood to hear any excuses from the fellow youth. "I can't believe I'm doing this."

[/color] he whimpered, the thought of his own death lingering in his mind. He didn't have any earthly idea how to go about retrieving mines. But the female told him that there would be an instructor there with a map to make it a walk in the park for him. Bullllllshiitttttttttt. When was something like this ever a walk in the park for anyone. It was surprising that they would choose a lowly genin over some other higher rank to tackle a mission of this level. The fears of the Akegarasu halted for a moment at the sight of another ninja, most likely the instructor that held all the information needed in his hands.

The fellow surely looked like he had some experience with the job. Not a single bead of sweat or worry could be seen on his face. But almost like a child, he smiled and awaited the youth's company. "I believe your the man I was sent here to speak too." He didn't even utter a word but looked at me with that casual "your late" smile. No one even warned or informed Kaeor that there was some sort of time limit to get here or time requirement for this mission at all. Kaeor began to open his lips in order to release a complaint. But it was almost as if the worker was psychic and pointed to the upper right corner of the paper he held in his hand. "Tsk. Figures." he sighed and shrugged, realizing that there wasn't anything he really could do to fix the problem.

That was his nonchalant attitude responding and realizing there was nothing more to be done. At least he actually made it here in order to do missions, right? The man only pointed him in the direction to go. With no items to give, Kaeor assumed that someone had beat him here and had already got started. That was fine of course, less work that he had to do on his part. Though he was completely surprised to see who he thought he was seeing. Two missions in a row now? Call it lucky or call it fate. Something was surely up. With a map in her hand he would see her analyzing a position above ground. He could only guess that there was a reason she was examining that spot, the reason being that a mine remained below. Strolling along he made sure to slowly walk right behind her, hoping he had taken the same footsteps as her on his journey here.

"Ya'know. The instructor back there told me to tell you we deactivate them by jumping on their location up and down. One of is to perform the action of repeatedly jumping up and down on the mine while the other one watches from afar. Ladies first, of course." he joked in his habitual manner of saying "hello".

So, she had to dig it up, right? She was either stalling herself or simply trying to think of a reason why she could pause enough so that she could maybe have the instructor come over to help her. She didn’t really want to lose arms- That would be awful, seeing the Chuunin exams were coming up soon. An incredibly high skilled medic could maybe fix them back but it would be very hard! ”….” contemplating her own death and/or loss of limbs during this mission she would soon find herself approached by another ninja who was probably taking part in th- ”..Kaeor?” she’d ask without turning, the very voice that he used being quite familiar to her, having only seen him earlier today. It was nice to see him again. Even if the two of them were potentially going to die from the mines.

Her head finally turning towards him, she would grin at what he had to say- Ahah. ”Ladies first.. But gentlemen just before.” she’d tell him- Such sayings had come from her days at academy where people childishly pushed in front of each other in queues for food, or anything really. It was a constant battle of the sexes, although right now she was more than happy to suggest that Kaeor go first- She was a bit concerned. ”You’re taking this mission too? Great- Take this” she would command as she’d give him the small spade that the instructor had given her- It was a bit dangerous using that, especially if it had accidentally pushed the mine- Would it be better to dig it out by hand?

”Truth is I don’t want to lose my hands in this mission- What do you suggest we do to get this mine out of the ground?” she’d ask on a slightly more serious note, although the grin that was on her face spoke otherwise. She had never really uprooted a mine before so this was a new experience, and it would be nice not do die trying, of course. Looking at the blonde again, she’d then turn back to the mine as her hands would gently touch the lump of earth, scrapping away slowly at the surface earth that covered a mine, until she saw what could but be described as something metallic- The device itself. Now, how were they going to continue?

Looking to Kaeor as she’d await his input on the potentially deadly situation, her arms moving from where the explosive device was, and back to her sides, both of her thin hands placed on the earth around her, which thankfully, wasn’t defiled with more mines- Or not in this area anyhow. Flicking her gaze back to him after spending a little more gazing at the mine itself, she’d give him a cheeky smile, before placing the small map down by her side as she would prepare for the worst, her will being recited in her brain- If she was to die, who would clean the house?!

Without second thought, Areru had managed to just hand over the small spade, figuring out it was better left in Kaeor's hands when it came to any duties. It was slightly humorous though, because Kaeor didn't want to end up exploding to tiny chunks much like how she didn't either. But he was the man of the group after all so he didn't mind much. "D'aw. So you care enough about me to make the conscious decision that if one of use have to risk exploding up, you'd want it to be me. I don't think I've ever been touched in such a way." he sarcastically answered, knowing that it wasn't like that at all.

What was even better was her reasoning for not keeping the spade. "Oh yeah, I've always wanted to get myself a new pair of hands." The way she addressed the situation was quite funny. Nothing but the usual typical Areru manner according to Kaeor's intuition. The only prime idea that Kaeor had to manage to get the mine from the ground was pretty straight forward - to dig. How to dig? Well most likely it would be best to dig as deep as they can around the mine. That way once they dug deep enough all around it would be pretty easy to just pickup the mine gently.

"Well what about digging around it? You know where it is right?" Kaeor would lean over her and take a peak at the map. A large "X" was marked directly in front of where he stood. "I mean that's the only reasonable way I see we can do this and survive at the same time. Oh. And I would very much like to keep my hands." he finished before placing the spade into the ground. He would kick it in the dirt with the heel of his boot in order for it to stick into the ground.

What she had said was soon answered to as he spoke of some kind of made-up situation or what he himself thought of what she had suggested he do by gentlemen just before- Of course it was obvious in his tone that he had been joking, so she too responded in an equally sarcastic manner. ”Incorrect. I merely thought that you were more fit for the job than I was.” she’d tell him with a slight grin, it wasn’t all that sarcastic- She did think that he probably was better skilled than her as a shinobi but she hoped that after a little while she’d be able to match with at least him as far as skill went- Or, other genin her age. But, too many times had she heard of prodigies in Kumogakure, she wasn’t one of them, but she didn’t care really. It was just a name anyway.

He was quite funny, or he didn’t seem like he was one of those cold-hearted people who didn’t care for anyone and anything. Like a breath of fresh air he’d draw another joke in on the conversation, causing the corners of her lips to curl in to some kind of smirk, before replying to his next comment on how they were to dig it with a slightly more serious tone, not exactly wanting to make any mistakes and get blown up. ”Right- I think that’d be the best way to go at it- It’s here.” she’d tell him, pointing at the small mound of mine that she had uncovered. Gently moving away some of the soil with her hands, being sure not to press down on the object, she’d uncover it partially from the earth- All they needed to do was to move it- But that was risky!

Looking to Kaeor, then back at the mine, she’d raise to her feet and take a step back, now standing to the his left side. ”There we go; You have the shovel, good luck!” she’d tell him with a pat on the back, it had been her plan all along, to give him the shovel! Ohoho! How was he to react to this? With the playful grin still on her face she’d then take another step back and then squat so that her arms were on her knees, watching both Kaeor on the mine as she’d wait in anticipation for him to try and dig it up- She didn’t want to see him explode, no. That would be awful, especially since she had just met him! ”Make a clear square and we’ll gently dig it up from there. We need another spade..” she’d tell him, the last part in a slightly quieter tone.

”I don’t think I’d get full pay if I was to explode- And I need to buy equipment for the Chuunin exams, so you stay alive, right?” her tone, she joking once more, was light and childish, but one couldn’t go against her- She was having fun, even though there was a current risk of death with the whole fiasco. ”Apart from being potentially blown up, How are you?” she’d ask him, wondering how he had been between the last mission they had taken, and when they had first met. But, with her eyes carefully on the mine that was planted hazardously on the earth, she just hoped that he didn’t slip up. That would be unfortunate.

"How attractive. You had faith in my masculinity." he'd note with a grin. The banter between the two was quickly growing to be more eventful than he thought, even if they were at risk to explode by a mine. The shinobi's focus would then avert to the object lying beneath the earth's surface. He understood that Areru had placed enough trust in him to show that she wasn't afraid if he had the spade. So it would be his goal not to let her down, and even then his own personal struggle to survive in such dire circumstances. He had analyzed this mine from every single situation and outlook but it was pretty evident of what he had to do.

Reluctantly, he took a deep breathe and his vision bounced back to his companion. "Wish me luck!" Anxiously the spade would bite into the earth without any metal recoil. He had successfully planted the shovel into the dirt on his first try, managing to dodge the explosive device. It was exactly where Areru said he should strike! With caution he retracted the spade from the earth before shuffling around to get a different angle.

Just like that Kaeor continued to dig around the mine. He made sure that he had dug around it at every point so it would be possible to scoop it up with his bare hands. Evidently though he wasn't going to be the one to pick it up with his own hands. He had played his role and it was near time for Areru to pay her own dues. "Is that far enough for you?" he asked, indirectly telling her that she would be the one picking up that little device that went boom in the night.

His response to what he had to say would cause her to grin again- Something that was seen quite commonly from her when she found something quite entertaining. ”Kaeor, I’ve seen more masculinity on a slug.” Burnnnn! Watching as he’d go forwards to try and get the mine safely away from the earth so that they could give it back to the man without it exploding in his face. It would surely be a challenge since she and Kaeor probably hadn’t done something like this before, but it was one that they had no choice- They had to succeed. The only other option was dying, and that didn’t exactly sound all that favourable right now to her. It did maybe to some weird people but not to her. Each to their own, right?

”Good luck!”

Her tone laced with both sweetness and somewhat amount of sarcasm, she simply meant it in a way to make fun of him that he was the one who was currently risking his life to do such a mission- Surely this should be more dangerous than a C-Rank if it posed a threat of life? No matter, as they were probably half way through doing it now and all they needed to do was uproot this one and it was over with- Someone else could do all of the rest within the village. Looking at him as he’d dig in to the earth which was near the edge of the mine she’d await in anticipation of the square being dug, hoping that he wouldn’t accidentally hit the side of the mine.

It wasn’t long until then the mine seemed to be cut out of the earth quite easily by the blonde, although now was the part which she played- She wasn’t too fond of it and didn’t want her arms blown off but this was now a team job and she had to do her bit in order to fufill the request of the mission. ”That was mediocre work- Let the real man show you how it’s done.” banter banter banter. Kneeling down a little bit towards the mine she’d then very gently with her nimble fingers, pick up the metallic object, making sure not to press it too hard. She would remove it from the earth, it now being in her arms, safe and secure.

”Now- Let’s get it back to that guy- I’m sure he’s eagerly awaiting it!” she’d tell him with a grin upon his face despite the concern that she might lose a few of her limbs in the process of taking it back. With a calm look on her face she would then rise slowly, and would turn to Kaeor, as she’d start to make her way towards the man that they were supposed to give the mine to once it had been dug up. Turning his head back, she’d then stop in her tracks and await him to follow, her thin frame and her pale skin being in the sunlight. Praying that the mine couldn’t be set off by it being too hot or some other silly reason like that, she’d wait for him to follow.

What. She had easily downplayed his masculinity and placed it on a pedestal beside a slug. The devilish shinobi only lifted a single brow in response. She could take a joke out and dish one back! This woman was certainly rare! "Well that must be one mighty ass slug." he countered referring to his own strength in particular to the subject. He had completed his task with the ease and swiftness of a veteran, now secretly hoping that she wouldn't find a way to make the explosive go off. They didn't even know the true blast radius of the mine but that didn't stop them from handling the mine with uncanny delicacy.

"Just don't hurt yourself Areru" He answered looking at her softly. Just as she moved near the bomb Kaeor would take the opposite steps away from her. Once she stood or looked for him, she would see that he now stood twenty meters away from her. "No pressure right?" he laughed with a small smile. At that point she made the suggestion to go back to the man that hired them for the job in the first place to return the mine. He didn't do anything but nod, knowing that they didn't have anything else they needed to do. "You didn't do half bad Areru." He was complimenting her even when they weren't finished with the job. She wouldn't drop the bomb or anything right? For a second he stammered as they began to get closer to finishing their task at hand.

"Hey Areru. Are you busy or anything tonight? I mean, would you like to go out to dinner with me?"

His response had been somewhat guessed already prior to him speaking- She knew that he wouldn’t leave it at that, and to say the truth, neither was she, although she wasn’t quite sure about what to respond to it with so she decided to leave it at that, and allow him to win for this round- But she’ll be back next time, better than ever and equipped with even more banter that she could degrade him with. With a great grin the young Sansutsomu would keep carrying the mine with great precaution, making sure not to get her arms blown off- It would be a bad mistake, seeing as though she had Chuunin exams to attend, and if her arms were blown off, or if she was dead in general, she probably wouldn’t be allowed to go. Such was fate, and she didn’t want to fall victim to that path. Areru was very happy with the arms that she already had, thank you.

”Of course I won’t- This bomb isn’t getting the best of me.”

With that said she’d continue to walk along the path with the mine in her arms, being incredibly careful not to tip it too quickly or to drop it- If that happened, the chances that she might get harmed by the blast were quite high, and Kaeor might get hurt too, so that was two possible fatalities. Something which she wasn’t aiming to happen. ”……” Silence would envelop the two of them for a few moments before the tattoo bearing shinobi would comment on what a great job she had done facing danger whilst holding a mine, and she very much enjoyed being given a compliment regarding her work- Although, from what she knew of him now, she was unsure whether he had meant it sarcastically or not, as a lot of the things he said tended to be quite jokey.

”Thank you- Although I’d like to see you do this sometime.” she’d tell him with a cheeky grin, once more playing on the girls rule boys drool theme that they had on! A battle of the sexes, Areru was very much hoping to be in the lead by her courageous work carrying the mine across to the man who had asked them to dig it up. And- Speaking of the devil, he’d soon appear from the door of the shack, and she’d nod her head to him, signalling that they had managed to dig it up correctly- But there was a little bit to go before they would reach his home, and she didn’t really feel like running with the piece in her hands- For safety’s sake.

And then- Just as she was going to say something to Kaeor, her mouth opening- She’d hear words come from his mouth that were spoke in a slightly less confident tone than his- Or at least, as if there had been some kind of pause during what he had said, his wording clear near the end but quite hurried at the start- Whatever was- OH he was asking her out, right? With her head sharply turning to him for a few moments one would believe that she would reject him there but- ”-That would be very pleasant Kaeor. Assuring that you’re paying.” she’d grin, the past look of disgust having been one of fakery to annoy him ”I’m kidding- But I would like to go to dinner with you, yes. I’d enjoy that.” her words said she’d give him one of her smiles, as she’d await for his reply, her eyes switching back and forth from him to the mine.

And so making her way towards the shack which the man was no doubt at, she’d soon find herself by it’s edge, the man coming outside and giving the two what would appear to be an annoyed look, before looking down to see the mine cradled in Areru’s arms, and his expression seemed to become slightly happier, glad that those punk kids had actually done the work without having blown something up. He had seen a person almost suffer from a blown off arm before in this mission, and he wasn’t too keen on seeing it again no doubt. ”Oh, you did it. Good.” he’d say simply as he’d then take the mine carefully from Areru’s arms, the two moving it around with great safety to assure that it didn’t get set off.

Once she was free from the burden of holding it she’d then turn back towards Kaeor who had been following her, the same boy who had asked her quite an interesting question prior to her handing the mine over. So- What was she going to do? After thinking about it for a while she had to agree with the answer she had given him- She would like to go and have dinner with him yes but- Tonight she had to depart to the land of iron where the Chuunin exams were held- And she had to get there quite sharpish in order to still count for the registration. So- What was the plan? As her feet continued to pound the ground in an almost elegant manner, Areru would soon reach Kaeor, and the first thing she would do, is grin.

”Kaeor- It is of my apologies that I have to tell you- I have to get travelling soon to make my way to the land of Iron but- Assuring that you too are attending the exams, and figuring that there’s bound to be some kind of café area..” a pause. ”I’d be very happy to meet you there for dinner” with those having been said, it was definitely obvious that she was accepting his request to go to dinner with him just- the place they would dine would be in a foreign land. She didn’t matter because of that, but, she did hope that the food would be as good as it was in Kumogakure- However, she was sure that it would be nice- Especially with a male suitor to dine with! How classy!

With this having been said the incredibly lithe girl would then flash her one of her cheeky grins before then giving him if but a little wink. With this done she’d turn sharply on her heel, and would make her way towards the mission compound, where she’d get her clearance for this mission, receive her pay, and then she’d hopefully be off towards the land of Iron, where she’d be able to leave for the exams. But first she had to train a little bit more to make sure that she was at her best ready for the trials that were ahead of her- Such things stood in her way that every other genin had to face, but- She was at least a little bit ready.

For a moment everything looked like it was going to get pretty grim for Kaeor. A awkward silence lingered in the air for a moment, causing him to think that she was searching for a way to let him down easy. It almost was unbearable and he could feel the pressure of the situation on the back of his neck. It was then that she spoke to the quivering soul known as Kaeor. Yet with relief, he found himself actually being acknowledged rather than completely shut down. She had seriously became the chicken noodle soup for his soul as he couldn't do anything much but show off a cheeky smile.

The thoughts of tonight would linger on the forefront of his mind.

As they made it to the man he would watch her place the mine right in his sausage hands. With a hearty smiled he would congratulate them and be off to return the mine back to the armory. It felt good to be complete with the mission. The hazard of their lives no matter on the line, Areru would then tell him that she was going to the same place that he was going to be headed too.

From that point on he made it his goal to make sure he met her there.
