Kagura Shingan (Kagura Mind's Eye)

Type: Supplementary / Sensory Ninjutsu
Range: 0 - 50 meters
Special: When first learned, the Sensor can extend their Mind's Eye up to 10 meters in any direction. Each new rank extends the range by 10 more meters, for a maximum of 50 meters. Upon learning the 'S' ranked version, the user will no longer have to close their eyes nor form handseals to activate.
Description: Kagura Shingan is an advanced Sensory Ninjutsu technique used by all sensors, and serves as the root to the entire sensory tree. After a series of handseals, the sensor closes their eyes and uses their innate ability to detect chakra in order to determine the location of their opponent by the faintest of chakra trails, as well as discerning the size of an approaching unseen force, and even their chakra capacity.

Hirihi would watch Areru and listen to her as she stated the very same observation that Hirihi had noticed herself when she had first begun to watch people and their chakra signature. It was very funny that she had noticed it before someone had even taught her that it was what it meant. None would consider such a trivial thing as a slight quiver to be something to be alarmed about or to learn from. Wondering where to work next, Hirihi figured the best spot to continue their training was to carry on into the field of extending the range of her sight. It was a key thing to be able to see beyond ten meters, which was the limit for someone just learning from what she had been explained.

"Well, you've learned the basics on that. It was a rather easy thing to learn, and it required no changes to what you were doing. That was why the skill came extremely easy to you. Now, what we are going to do is make your mind's eye more useful. By this, I mean we are going to extend the range of your sight. As it is right now, you will only be able to see within a ten meter radius. This is not because you are limited in your weakness. This is just how the lens is naturally shaped to see. What we'll do is we'll expand the world around you to something up to twenty meters. This is as far as I have managed to see myself, so after this, there is not much more I can directly teach you without a break to learn on my own." Hirihi said, hoping that this wouldn't be the end of their... wahtever it was.

"So, what I want you to do is open your eyes to the chakra around you and follow my movements. I'm going to demonstrate this very point that I told you about to try and help you get a grasp on what you need to do to improve upon it." She said, waiting until Areru looked ready. "Alright, now follow my movement and watch my chakra signature disappear." She said. Walking slowly away from Areru, she made sure not to get her confused by walking through groups of people. No, she walked slow at first. Once she knew she had crossed the ten meter threshold, she would be a very faint signature at the edge of the spectrum.

Stepping her foot over the boundariy between ten meters and eleven meters, Hirihi would vanish from her vision and be completely undetectable by her eyes as they were now. Once she noticed that Areru was no longer able to see her any longer, Hirihi would walk back and wait for the girl to tell her what she saw. "Anything in particular you noticed once I walked that far away?" She asked, arms crossed as she wondered the response she was going to get.

The green haired girl would look at Hirihi for a few moments with quite a content look upon her face after she had managed to learn the last technique that she had trained- She was quite proud of herself to say the very least, that she had learned another technique, and of course she was more than thankful after Hirihi herself had volunteered to help her with learning these techniques- It was in this way that she’d hopefully be able to do the village good by becoming a sensor- She knew that they were all over the place but then again, if she could get quite good at it, perhaps the Raikage himself would be interested in her skills! Despite this, she knew that Hirihi would probably always be better than her in the field- She being a medic too, no doubt her control over chakra was greater than hers.

Listening to her, Areru’s arms dropped by her sides as he eyes continued to stay closed with her mind’s eye utilized to allow her almost sixth sense to be used. Listening to the frail looking girl, she would be given a brief of what she was about to learn- Or, re learn, as she was now going to simply extend her knowledge of the eye itself to perfect her ability- Or, to at least learn the next step. The version that she knew at the moment was good, but then again it wasn’t amazing. It had only been the lowest form- a D-rank, but it did open her mind to the whole thing- It would be nice to know the next version up. Pondering what abilities it would have, she would continue to listen to the girl, as she explained.

”We’ll expand the technique? I hadn’t known there was a cap on the technique I already knew but it does make a lot of sense- I’m sure that incredibly talented sensors can see for miles.” she’d tell her in a pretty interested tone- The whole sensor business intrigued her. ”I appreciate all that you have done, thank you very much!”

After her thanks were given she would then continue to listen with her eyes closed, the chakra signal of Hirihi herself still strong in her vision- So if she could only see a limited amount of distance, that obviously meant that she couldn’t see anything past that point- And according to Hirihi, ten meters was the maximum that she could see at the moment. Of course as black flooded her vison she couldn’t tell this, but the little pink ninja obviously knew more than she did, so she took her words and trusted them. Learning the next step of it would be challenging, but no doubt beneficial to both her learning and her experience! This would be very useful.

As Hirihi then seemed to prove to her that she could only see within the range of ten meters, she would watch as her chakra signature would fade out in to the distance as she’d seemingly walk away- 10 meters was a pretty small distance, so bouncing it up to 20 would be great. Shifting from her weight from one foot to the other, she’d keep watching until the figure that she knew as Hirihi was now gone from her vision totally- She didn’t even know where she was, which sucked a bit. But hopefully, with further training, she’d be able to extend her vision! Even with her eye of the Sansutsomu clan, it was a bit confusing even for her. ”Haha, you’ve disappeared from my vision! This just makes me wonder for how far the best sensors can see.. I’m sure you’ll become one of them in time!” she’d say, answering the question she had asked as she’d look to where he had been before, and then to where she assumed that she had walked off to.

[Hirihi]

Hirihi had remembered that when she had first learned of the limitations on the first level of the eye, she had been a little bit disappointed. It was something that she hadn't quite understood, but she thankfully had a good teacher to explain how to extend her vision, as well as the other techniques that she had. Passing on the knowledge was her favor in return from her friend for teaching her. "Well, what we are going to do is adjust that chakra lens that is around your eyes when you are using your mind's eye to see chakra." She said, crouching and using her finger to draw a diagram in the sand. "I imagine that you know what a lens on glasses do for those that are unable to see clearly, correct?" She asked, curious to see if the girl might be able to understand the concept.

Drawing a lens looking line on the sand, she then draw a larger set of lines from the left side passing through the lens and being adjust to focus in on the circular dot on the other side of the lens. "When a patient in the hospital is unable to see, we do a test to see what kind of glasses we would use on them to help them see. This is the exact same idea with the chakra lens that we are both able to use flawlessly now. By placing a chakra lens over our eyes, it gives us the ability to focus our sight to our mind's eye and see the world through a chakra perspective. This, however, has its limitations." She said, drawing another picture of the same diagram but with a wider spectrum that was larger than the lense itself. "The way the mind's eye works is if it cannot focus on something clearly, it will ignore it entirely. So, there are two ways to fix this."

She continued to draw in the sand after wiping the images away and showed two different diagrams. One was with a larger lens, and one was with a lens that was moved farther away from the eye at a slightly different shape. "We can either take the lens that we have already learned how to craft and move it farther away from the eye, or we can make the lens larger and keep it the same distance. This would bend the area that you are able to see in so that you can see much farther away, up to a range of 20 meters." She said. She presented the options to her because Hirihi herself hadn't really learned about the differences in the ways that you could use the lens. She had just been told one way, and figured the other out later.

"So, what I am going to do is I am going to stand ten meters away, staring back at you. Once you have the eye focused on me at that distance, I am going to step into the eleven meter area, and I want you to try and adjust the lens to fit how you want to do it.l Once you are able to see me, shout at me and we will test just how far away the world is open to you with the changes to the current lens that you are already using." Hirihi said, smiling at the girl and feeling rather like a know-it-all. She was a medical guru, and she was glad that she had been able to provide some kind of an explanation, but she was sure that the girl would b elost to her explanation aside from what she was asked to do. If the girl had no further questions, Hirihi would move ten meters away and wait for the girl to signal her to move further away, putting her new changes to her lens to the test.

With her eyes opening once more as she’d watch her chakra signal move towards her, it would be quite strange to see life as it normally was, without he whole black background and the signs of chakra where people had been. But, with a few blinks her eyes would become used to it, and she would watch as the girl would begin to explain how to initiate the technique itself as she gave her a few ideas as to how exactly one went ahead to further her field of vision. 10 meters was nice.. but the idea of being able to view for even further away than she could see with her eyes wide open was pretty tempting. Never had she imagined herself learning this but- With thanks to the little medic, such doubts were now quietened.

”Yes- They enhance the vision that they already have.” she’d tell her in relation to the contacts question- Hers didn’t enhance vision, but instead simply added the red colour to her eyes, such deceiving methods of changing her eye colour that only her family really knew the truth about them at the moment- She sported bright blue eyes like her brothers and father but- Red made her stand out. She would sometimes lie, saying that someone on her mothers side had them, and it had been a hidden gene. But, this was entirely different from contacts- It wasn’t something you could see- Not that normal vision enhancing contacts could be seen easily anyway. Her gaze on the girl as she crouched, she’d watch her next movements.

A diagram would seem to be drawn in the sand within the area they were training in, explaining how the lens itself worked on the eye. With a few things it was easier not to know the technical things but then again although it was hard, it was better to understand it to have a full grasp on it rather than only know half of it and mess up later in the future. ”So I need to change the shape of the lens itself to allow me to see further? Like a looking glass?” she’d say, referring it to one of those things that detectives usually held in their hands whilst looking for clues- The girl, although looking younger than her, did have a very great way of explaining just how it worked- Or, better than how Areru would ever be able to explain it.

"So, what I am going to do is I am going to stand ten meters away, staring back at you. Once you have the eye focused on me at that distance, I am going to step into the eleven meter area, and I want you to try and adjust the lens to fit how you want to do it.

As she spoke of what she was going to do, Areru would nod her head, her eyes would close, handseals now forming, as she’d speak, the girl then activating the Kagura’s eye that she had been taught a while ago by the very pink haired genin that stood before her right now. With the plan made she’d keep listening to what she had to say, as with her chakra moulding skills at hand, she’d try and manipulate the lens that was already on her eyes, the blackness that she could see helping to illuminate the chakra signal that was Hirihi. She’d then give a nod, signalling for her to move further away- Right now she was just about in her eyesight, but there was still quite a bit of training to go to assure that her eye was perfected at C-Rank! The lens would be worked at in this time, her chakra feeding it a little bit to try and change the shape and the amount it allowed her to see.

[Hirihi]

Hirihi stood about eleven meters away from Areru as she would attempt to focus herself to see her from that particular distance. it wasn't something that would come easy, and she would have to figure out how to do it on her own. Everyone had their own particular styles of how to do certain things. this lens was one of those things that you were required to learn to work on your own. Hirihi, for example, had learned to use the lens from a farther distance. This gave her the ability to move it back and forth to focus between the ten meter and the twenty meter ranges.

Regardless of herown particular pattern for doing what Areru was being asked to do, hirihi kept patiently still so that the girl would be able to hopefully focus and see her. Given plenty of time to figure out what she was needing to do, Hirihi would begin to approach her after about a minute or so of trying. They hadn't exactly worked out a method on how to assume that she had learned to see her. "Is any of what I had told you beginning to make sense? Is it helping you at all?" hirihi asked. Giving Areru a chance to respond, Hirihi would listen to her and hopefully there would be some progress. "if you need me to, i can go farther than the eleven meters i was at to give you a full grasp on how far it goes, but that is up to you.' hirihi offered, curious as to whether Areru had any further need for help.

Suddenly, as she’d keep her eyes on the chakra figure that was Hirihi she’d soon notice her fade out to the distance, only very, very faint threads left to show to Areru that she had only moved, and it hadn’t been some kind of trickery- Her eye at the moment was a bit weak, but she hoped that with enough training, she’d be able to enhance it greatly, allowing her to see for longer distances, and hopefully allow her to see Hirihi fully now that she had moved away a meter or so. It was sad to see how little she could view but, seeing only wisps of chakra where she was at the moment, she’d better get working at making her vision better in the sense of the Kagura’s eye.

"Is any of what I had told you beginning to make sense? Is it helping you at all?"

”Yes- It’s helping a lot, thank you! Give me a few minutes to try this out..” she’d tell her with her eyes closed as she’d keep working at the lens that was currently around her eye- She needed to make it a different shape as so to say, or to strengthen the lens itself. If she could but make it larger that would be very good, but at the moment, it didn’t appear as if a lot of her efforts were paying off that well! Shaking her head slightly, her right hand shifting the right side of her hair a bit before dropping back down, she would keep focusing on the lens beneath her eyelids, attempting to make it what Hirihi had explained in order to make it easier for her to learn it.

But it wasn’t all that easy- About five minutes of total concentration would go past as she’d focus on the lens. In this time it had given her a slight headache from concerntrating so much on a certain part of her body for long but it was incredibly mild- But then- HUZZAH! slowly but surely the chakra signals that would be coming from Hirihi would move from the very faint trails they were to something much stronger. It was incredibly interesting how it had progressed and she was pretty sure that the girl was still standing where she had been minutes ago. ”It’s working! I can see you a bit clearly now.” she would tell her in a tone of joy, a grin on her face.

Although, she couldn’t help but feel that she could do a little bit better- Looking at Hirihi again with her almost blind eyes due to them being closed, among the black background that was around her she’d see the chakra signals around the pink medic slowly begin to grow stronger with every minute that she focused on the lens, attempting to make it thicker so that she’d be able to see for longer distances- The sansutsomu seemed to be overjoyed that he vision had been heightened to the extent that she could see the medic from a total of eleven or so meters away- It had only been a bit more, but comparing to the thin threads of chakra that could be seen before, seeing her in full-form with her newly upgraded eye was such an achievement for her!

Hirihi would be able to see it on Areru's face that she had been able to achieve the ability to see past the ten meter radius. Looking towards the time, the pink haired ninja would realize that she had spent a bit more time there than she could probably afford to lose. She'd be needing to do some more work for the village now, but she was definitely enjoying her time with Areru. "Well, Areru, it has been a pleasure to see you today. I am sorry that I couldn't stay longer. I have nothing left I can show you right now, but if you ever need healing, you can always find me somewhere in the village. I'll be practicing my sensor techniques, and maybe we can work together another time to help each other." Hirihi said, smiling and thinking of something really interesting to do.

"Just to see how far you could use that eye, try and follow me as far as you can. It could be an interesting test for you." She said, sighing and waiting for Areru to get ready. Once she was ready, Hirihi would slip into a crowd and walk down the street. Moving with the group towards the edge of the street, she turned right and vanished down the road. She'd be long out of the twenty meter range, but it was one last thing she could do to show Areru how far her newfound abilities worked. It might even give her a chance to do some last fine tuning. They would hopefully meet again.

It was soon found that her training of the eye had come to a halt- She had successfully done it, but she no doubt would probably be training it later on in order to perhaps rank up. But for now, it was time for the two shinobi to part. Hirihi had generously given Areru her time in order to draw her in to the world of sensory techniques, and had taught her well, but now was time to leave. They would probably meet at some other point in the future. Or- She hoped. Giving her a deep bow she’d remain in that position for a moment before then rising. ”Thank you very much for teaching me.” she’d tell her, incredibly thankful that she had- She was sure that if Hirihi ever needed some help in the future, Areru would be one of the main people who would go to help- As long as she knew that she needed the aid.

”That would be absolutely great.” she’d tell Hirihi about the idea about training together later on in time when she knew more about sensory techniques. It was rare that she had the chance to be taught by people she didn’t even know before the training itself so it was always next to both meet new people, and learn new things. Maybe Areru could teach her a thing or two the next time their paths would meet- Perhaps a certain release maybe? Or just at technique. Apart from the fact that she knew she was a medic and a sensor ninja, she hadn’t known any more about the pink haired girl that now walked away from the scene. But, due to the friendly interactions between the two, she was sure that they would grow to be friends.

"Just to see how far you could use that eye, try and follow me as far as you can. It could be an interesting test for you." ]

Her eyes still activated, she’d nod her head and would then look at Hirihi as she’d leave, her chakra signal now as strong as it had been at ten meters, yet she was quite some distance away from her now. She’d watch intently on the figure that stood a while after her, as she’d watch as it would move, slowly fading out to the distance after the 20 meter barrier had begun. Grinning at this newly found limit that she had, it only drove her to want to learn more- To be able to move it up to 30 meters- Yes, that would be great to have. ”……..” looking at her chakra signal, only faint threads left, it would be soon until it was gone completely. Nodding her head, she’d disable the eye technique.

So- What was she going to do now? Do some more missions Or perhaps train up a bit with her brothers? She wasn’t all that sure but one thing she was sure of is that whatever she would do now in the time she had until the Chuunin exams, she had to spend it wisely. Training, doing missions was all good and well but she needed to push herself in order to make sure that she knew all she can to be ready for the big day when she’d step on the land which the exams would take place in. Would she need to meet the Raikage himself first? Such questions plagued her but sadly she was unknown of an answer as of now. But she’d probably learn it later on. With the technique disabled, she’d now make her way towards the center of Kumogakure, off to do.. something.
