Eugh.. Mountains.
Why had she chosen this mission? She wasn’t angry at her decision to choose such a task but she could have chosen one that suited her ideals and hobbies better- Walking up mountains wasn’t exactly one of her skills, nor was climbing, and whether or not she was physically able to do it was a question- Now that was a good point, but if she’d just pace herself she was sure that she’d get this mountain climbed quite easily. Shaking her dark green hair somewhat, there being a bag on her back which simply carried water for her to drink whilst walking, it being in a platypus-like style so that there were no bottles needed, she’d take the tube of water and would drink for a few moments, before then placing it back by her side, and looking up at the mountain that she was about to climb- Did she have someone doing the mission with her this turn? Or was she by herself?

Nonetheless she would take a few looks behind her before then nodding her head, her red gaze looking up at the mountain in slight distaste for a few moments- Was she really going to climb this huge thing? Sure enough, she was, as she had gotten the mission accepted, and to go back and say that she couldn’t do it. That would be shameful. What kind of Sansutsomu daughter was she if she couldn’t climb a simple mountain? People in the past had done it before her so it was probably quite easy- The track that moved up the mountain seemed to be of quite a high slope to start off with but it would probably just get worse as time ticked on. She wasn’t scared of heights- No. It was simply the walking you had to do to get up there was the problem.

So, the first step- Her white foot walking upon the build up of the mountain, it would signify that the game had well and truly begun, and that she was on her way to getting to the top. Slowly but surely, she was going to, the young girl was too determinated to lose by fainting half way. Nonetheless there was no kind of timer or high score table determinating who made their way up there quicker, so there was no real rush to make her way up there, so it suited her since her personality was a bit relaxed and so was her footwork when it came to walking sometimes, although she still pulled off walking up a mountain with strange grace- However, when it came to battle, and especially with storms involved, she turned in to someone else.

But that someone else was currently locked as she’d keep walking up the slight slope that had been faced with her, her feet not getting tired yet- But they would probably do so soon. How much more was to go? Not that she was getting bored or anything but each step she took it made her re-think her decision to even come up this mountain, until- CRACK! the sound of lightning crashed down upon the earth, as clouds seemed to move about for the worst- It was a thundery day. With wicked grin would she then nod her head, glad that the heavens had descended upon her something that she enjoyed as she was currently not really having fun during this mission itself- A perfect time to train a technique, right? That would be quite a nice idea.

With every thunder that emitted from the sky, other mountaineers probably hid until it was over, but she gladly ploughed on, the change of weather having given her some kind of boost in confidence. And now- She would prepare to train a little bit as she walked on, trying to do her best using the storm that was currently churning in the sky above- Sometimes she did wish to be right up in the sky so that she could hear all the different sounds, see all beneath her and smell that scent that you got in the air after a storm. Looking up, she knew what she wanted to train, and seeing as she was currently on the edge of a mountain, it would help her quite greatly in her aim to become a great Sansutsomu- It was storm wall, a technique that she had seen her father and brothers perform quite frequently during their sparring.

It was a technique that, from what she had seen, prevented the foe from going past the barrier it created since it itself was an epitome of the storm itself, standing tall and proving as a blockage to those who couldn’t control it. Yes- this is what she wanted to learn. It would be quite interesting to learn especially when on top of a mountain although she wanted to learn it so that she could cover the edge of the path that she was on, to make sure that she didn’t fall off- Hopefully, this storm wall wouldn’t prevent her from being pushed off the edge by the weather. She didn’t feel like falling off any time soon, and sadly enough for herself, she didn’t have any form of wings that she could sprout to fly away.

..Even if she did have that, though, no doubt the impending storm would stop her in some way, even though she herself aimed to harness the very power that was placed in to these thunderstorms that racked through Kaminari no Kuni so often. You didn’t have this in other lands- She had briefly visited other countries in her younger years and she missed the storms and bad weather that Kaminari was so famed for. However, continuing to walk up the mountain, she felt at home, almost more relaxed than she usually was, although her face bore the expression of a madwoman, almost hypnotized by the roaring sound of thunder and the claps of lightning that occurred all around her- But, snapping out of that minor phase she would now concentrate on learning the technique itself- So, handseals came first, naturally.

Her memory being quite clear, as she could remember the handseals her family had formed whilst using the technique, her fingers interlacing with each other as the signs of the zodiac would patiently be formed, as she’d try to perform them correctly- It had been quite a while since her brothers had last used it so, she would in her mind attempt to put the seals together, using the best of her memory to try and recall such seals that she had seen be weaved so often amongst her family. Hopefully now after this mission, she would come back down from the mountain with a new technique in her arsenal which she could show her father.

So, with determination that placed even the strongest shinobi to shame the young girl would keep walking up the mountain with quite some speed, faint beads of sweat appearing on her face as she’d push herself, she both attempting to learn the technique and trying to walk up the mountain at the same time- It was, no doubt, a challenge, although she was willing to accept it, especially with such fine weather that they had on the day- The storm was watching, and she couldn’t let it down, not after generations of her family had proved loyal to it, and it had proved loyal to them when they called upon it in techniques and in general day-to-day life. Her mystical eyes were a gift, and she saw well to use them to her best extent. This would be a way of proving it.

With her hands continuing to weave together the seals that were required it would take a good few minutes until she had nailed down the handseals themselves- It had taken a while but she was recalling it all from memory, so it was good progress for her at least. ”……” walking in silence she would then attempt to recall the next step of the technique that she wanted to learn, trying to think of how she would do it- What she needed to do next was formulate the wall itself using her uncanny ability to mould together suiton, fuuton and raiton to form a wall of such great strength that it would prevent people from going past it if it was in front of them.

It was quite the challenge seeing as she currently was walking up quite a steep path but with enough effort put in to it, it was possible. Even for her. Her blood red eyes grazing the sky once more, she’d keep at attempting to build the wall of storm that she so badly wanted to make- Both because it would secure her safety on the mountain, and it would be neat to learn especially in such circumstances as she was on now. It was, of course, a bit challenging having to walk up a mountain and having to learn a new technique at the same time but her willpower matched no other, especially when thunder was cracking down on the earth so vibrantly- It inspired her to do her best, to say the very least.

So, with her chakra concerntrated on the edge of the path where she could potentially fall down if she was to trip or something, she would keep walking but begin to mix the different elements of chakra that she was able to create thanks to her blood-linked ability- Ranton. By mixing suiton and fuuton she could create wall that bore the qualities of such a storm that no-one daren’t go past it- She didn’t like to think about what would happen to people if they did take the risk of course, as she had seen the technique before, and it was basically a concertrated storm in the form of a wall, wind and all. Would they fly away? She wasn’t sure. She didn’t want to find out for herself, of course.

..How high was this mountain exactly?
She had been walking for a great while now- It truly did seem to be the tallest mountain in the land from the amount of time that it took for her to scale it, especially seeing as though her speed was quite fast for a girl of her health. Although she did look a bit run down walking so fast and training at the same time, she was going to learn this technique, and she was going to get to the top of the mountain, and she was going to get back down without dying. The latter of which she found more important at the moment as no matter if she learned the technique, or climbed it, it was vital that she got down alive so that she could say that she had climbed it successfully. It would be useless otherwise. Although being dead, assumingly she wouldn’t have a viewpoint on it.

”..This.. This is working..” she would murmur to herself in the quietest of tongues as the wall that she attempted to create slowly seemed to take form, although very slowly at that. As she moved up the mountain the wind grew a little bit stronger so she could hear it whistling through the gaps in the rocks- Thankfully it wasn’t raining, it if has, although she did love that weather, it would have made both climbing this mountain and training the technique a little bit harder than it was at the moment, she probably would have slipped by now and fallen to her demise if the weather had been very rainy- With rain usually came mist, and mist on top of a mountain whilst scaling it- Not the best of ideas.

Her dark green hair would whip back and forth in the wind as she kept moving upwards- She had been at this for a good amount of time now, although it just seemed to go up without fail, she would be here for longer than she had expected her to be- Couldn’t she just have chosen a mission like catch the dog or something like that? But, she was already at least quarter of the way there, so she couldn’t stop now. Especially since the technique that she was currently trying to learn was starting to take shape on the edge of the mountain. She couldn’t see much from where she was at the moment but with her chakra currently pouring in to the technique at a D-Ranked level, she was sure that at least some change was happening to cause it to be created.

Turning her gaze from where she was walking back towards the wall that she was currently forming, she would notice if but a little bit of change- It wasn’t as if there had become a solid wall-like creation made where she had meant for it to, but there was some kind of see-through barrier. It didn’t look that powerful though or storm-like, so she figured that the technique hadn’t been done to its full ability yet- It was only D-Rank of course, the lowest of levels, but for sure it would create wall that was able to prevent quite some damage against it, right? Nodding her head, she’d pace forwards as her health slowly decreased as she pushed herself, her intense concentration slowly wearing her down.

TWO HOURS LATER..

She had finally done it-
She had finally reached the peak of the mountain, and at the top, it bore incredibly high wind and such lightning that the people of the earth had never seen before- To some, it may have been terrifyingly scary, but to her, it was beautiful. It was a sure example of nature at its finest, and she sure did enjoy being an observer of it. But- With the storm brewing around her, it was time to get back down the mountain and work on the storm wall that she had constantly been working at. It was easy to say that shehad been tired- Not from training the technique but moreso simply because walking up the mountain had taken a quite of effort from her due to her slightly weak body. But she was proud of herself nonetheless.

Walking down the wall would make itself a bit more apparent as within it would lay swirling winds and almost rain-like formations, but, it was very strange to look at but she felt as if she was achieving the technique quite well with every moment that passed as she trained it. It was a bit different to say the truth but her dedication towards both Ranton and anything to do with storm was quite extrodainary- She was able to harness the power of the wind and rain itself to create such a thing that other people without the ability wouldn’t even think of making. Gazing at it, she would bit watch in awe as it would formulate from thin air, created from the chakra that flooded through her body.

And it would cause her to do something that some may have called her crazy for- The wall being situated at the side of the path, near quite a devastatingly high drop, she would walk towards it in the high wind seemingly without any panic about her life- She would place her arm towards the wall, only to have it pushed back towards her by the sheer force that the wall displayed- It truly was a feat of of nature that she had managed to control, it almost made her feel like god for a moment. With a wide grin from this she would then walk away from it and dispel it, and would begin to make her way back down the mountain, the same way that she had gone up.

Going downhill had always been easier for her, so she was hoping that it wouldn’t take too much out of her. And thankfully for her health it hadn’t done so, and she soon within an hour or so, taking gentle sips from the water pack that was strapped to her back, make her way down to the bottom, seeing the man who she had spoken to before starting the mission itself, as he shook his head at her, in slight awe. ”I ‘aint ever seen a lass like you go up mount Gekitsuu in such bad weather conditions! My respect ‘ta you!” he’d speak, she responding with a slight nod of her head and a grin, before leaving to reap the rewards of the missions- Her walking of the mountain was over, for now- But..!

"WAIT A SECOND HERE, MISSY-"

His voice would echo through the small area that she was currently in- As she may her way out, what did he have to tell her now? With a slight sigh she’d come back to him, she a little bit unsuspecting of this since she had prepared to just leave and have some nice tea back home or something like that. But- For the time being it would seem as if she had been dragged back to the line of work by the very person who had offered the mission in the first place- Which wasn’t all bad, as if she enraged him then no doubt she wouldn’t be getting her pay for today. So, casually walking back towards him, she’d soon stand but meters away, looking at his face as she’d await for him to speak or at least explain why he drew her back to the place.

”I forgot to take a picture of ‘ya! And ‘ya need to write your name in the walkers book so we know who’s been taking the challenge!”

With a nod Areru would accept this- It was fair enough if everyone else did it. Nodding her head in acceptance the man would then guide her towards the little hut that lay near the edge of the mountain, where inside it was like a cabin, a sofa, a TV, everything someone who patrolled the area would like when they’d come back from a hard day on the mountain. ”Alright- Stand over there for me please.” he’d tell her as he’d motion his hand towards a camera on a stand, and then the white background that covered the wall. Nodding her head she’d then walk towards the white sheet, and would stand in front of it, looking at the camera with her camera smile very much in use.

SNAP!

With the picture taken, a blinding flash of light covering the area for a few moments, she’d then turn towards where he was going this time- Towards a kind of book. Upon closer examination as she walked forward, she could tell that it looked bound with leather and thin wood- Quite a fancy book. But, he’d move through hundreds of pages- Signatures dating back to her great great great grandfathers probably. Watching as he’d navigate around the book, the next task would soon be given as he’d stop at a page which was quarter of the way full, and would hand her a black ink pen. ”Just write the information here” he’d tell her with a nod, as then she’d bend over a bit, beginning to write in the large book of names.

So, name. Her delicate handwriting would place Areru Sansutsomu in this box, filling out the other ones like date of birth, and the weather conditions she had climbed when she had gone up, among other things. Looking at the other signatures there were people from all different ages, a few having walked in the same conditions as she had- Kumogakure of course was quite famed for its bad weather as it seemed, but people didn’t take it as a boundary. A lot had become quite used to the storms that occurred, as did she- She loved it when a storm was coming up. But- Her writing soon ending with a dot, she’d take the pen from the page, and would then hand it back to the guy, having finished. ”Done- Thanks!” And with that, she’d leave now, for real, back to the mission compound.
