Hirihi rushed on down the street as she headed for the library. She hadn't really been much for reading, so it was a surprise to her that the village had one readily available to the citizens and shinobi of Kumo. With her eyes forward, she stopped in front of the large brick building and examined it from an outward persepctive. It wasn't a magnificent building, and it looked to be aging poorly with time. Most shinobi probably steered clear of the place for the sake of training their body instead of their mind. Prepping herself mentally, she entered through the glass doors of the entrance and approached the front desk slowly.
The interior was remarkably better than she had thought it would be. It had blue carpet with the furniture all being made of a light brown wooden texture. Whether the furniture was solid wood or not was not something she cared about. She mostly was glad that the place wasn't rundown on the inside as well as the outside. Approaching the desk, an elderly woman behind the desk looked over the desk and slightly down at Hirihi. Hirihi wasn't as tall as she should be for her age, so she would assume the worst response from the woman.
"Seems they'll send any ol' chil' t' come and help, won't they?" She said rudely towards the shinobi. "What're you, an academy student?" The woman asked, the desk stating her name was Ms. Shikula. "Nope. I'm a medic for the hospital, and I'm a genin who plans to help you with your cataloging today." She said, trying to keep her tone civil with the woman. It wouldn't do to have her lose pay or respect with anyone just because they were old and assumed the worst.
Sighing, Ms. Shikula walked around the desk and motioned for her to follow her to a stack of boxes towards the back of the library in front of a set of empty shelves. "And how ol' are ya?" She asked, Hirihi holding back a natural response. Young enough to be your great granchild, you old bag! She thought to herself. The words that came out of her mouth would be vastly different. "19 years old." Hirihi said, the woman raising a brow at the statement. Seeming to change her tone a little in having that knowledge now, Hirihi watched her as she attempted to open the box with shaky fingers.
"I'll help you." She said, producing a kunai from her back and cutting through the tape on the top to help her open the box with the sealed contents. The woman scoffed and shook her head. "I woulda had it, ya know." THe woman said, standing back and crossing her arms. "The paperwork on top will list the different information on what category and number the scrolls are to be placed in. The books go on the shelf ont he right and the scrolls go on the shelf on the left." She said, turning around and leaving Hirihi there. No disrespect, but the elderly are stubborn old beasts.
