As the duo began to walk further along the trail, she was surprised to hear Arate speak so much. They were truly connecting to each other, discussing their deep resentments about the entire world and she felt like she knew him back when they were both in the Academy. Truthfully, the luminescent child was curious about what happened to his right eye, but she did not have the courage to ask. It was reassuring to hear him decide to tell her on his own, since it meant that they were slowly creating a bond with each other, or so she assumed.

He again spoke about his lack of advanced abilities and how he did not seem to measure up against those around him, but the young lady was not sure why she felt so inadequate as well. Was it perhaps because she had a 'unique' talent but was not proficient in it? Whatever the case may be, she was actually beginning to grow excited about training within the village and become a sufficient aspect of the village's military. Cheerfully bouncing around as she maneuvered down the road, she would ask him about his future plans in Kumogakure no Sato.

"So.. I'm sure you probably know the exams are coming soon. But, the Raikage only sends the best genin candidates to take the exams, are you thinking about joining?" It was an odd way to shift the conversation, but that was all that the eager girl could think of. She knew that the exams would be her chance to showcase her talent and advance further within the shinobi hierarchy, however she wondered if Arate too was thinking about joining the exams? Besides, to her it would be fun to take on yet another challenge that she could conqueror. Attentively waiting for his response, she would subtly observe his body language and try to anticipate his reaction.

Funny enough, the girl soon became energized after the male’s somewhat solemn monologue, bouncing about the trail before asking yet another question pertaining to an ever growing subject: the Chuunin Exams. Known all throughout the lands and the hidden villages, the Chuunin Exams were sponsored by a third party as a test to make sure that the village’s Genin demonstrated the skills needed in order to be granted the title of Chuunin. He had heard briefly of the Raikage making the selection process very small so that the selected Genin would have the highest rate of success as possible. As far as he knew, the Chuunin Exams was full of many trials and that death was a possibility for those who were unfortunate enough. Silently, the boy gazed up at the sky before turning his attention back towards the perky female.

“…I…I’ll go to them. However, I’ll only go to them when I know I’m ready.”

The Medic responded, the flaps of his pilot’s hat swinging to and fro with each and every step. True, he had much work to do should he wish to participate in the Chuunin Exams but he was sure that his confidence would escalate once he convinced himself that he was up to the challenge.

“…I’m guessing you’re going right? We could help each other get ready for them. I’d like to see both of us get the Chuunin Title.”

Arate commented, a slight smile appearing on his features. It was true that he wished to ascend higher in the shinobi ranks and both of them receiving the rank of Chuunin would be quite the sight to behold. In fact, any and all Cloud Shinobi receiving the title would be a pleasant sight.

To her sweet surprise, Arate had mentioned that he did plan on attending the next Chuunin Exams, however only when he believed he was ready. The young lady frowned at his words for they hurt her so. During their entire encounter, he did not seem to be the confident individual, and thus she felt as though he would never feel as though he was fully prepared to embark on the dangerous demands of the exams. Another important issue that the young lady was missing was her lack of teammates. She needed to find about two others that had different, yet complimenting talents to accompany her own.

On a brighter note, he offered to help her train for the exams, and he even said that he wanted to see her acquire a higher rank. Perhaps they both could team up with a third person to enter the exams? Even if one of them did not attend the exams, they could at least do a mission or two together. They would make a goosShe could not believe what she was hearing. They had just had met, yet he seemed to be the kindest person she had ever interacted with. She attempted to lunge at Arate's head and give him a noogie on his head. The noogie was only meant in a playful manner, something that she did sometimes to show her affection towards someone. Responding to him, she would begin to trail off,

"Uh, hopefully I am able to attend them. Like yourself, we'll see if I am well equipped to handle them. I'll most likely be there, and I'd love to see you advance further in the ranks as well. I'm probably going to go meet with some family members soon and then begin training, but we should probably meet together sometime and do a mission together or something." Faint clouds began to hover over the sky as the sun began to start setting, it was getting late outside and Hayline needed to be back into the village. "I'll see you around then, Arate?!"

It was a truthful answer to say the least and just as the boy was busy looking off to the side, his unilateral vision caused him not to notice the girl lunging towards him. Eyes widening, the Medic almost stumbled backwards before he found himself in a headlock, the blonde rubbing her knuckles on top of the boy’s head. In all, the Genjutsu specialist struggled to break hold of the grip albeit his lack of strength didn’t allow it. After her hold was released, she began to speak about her own plans, stating that she was to attend the Chuunin Exams when she was fully prepared and spoke of her having business to attend to. Waving meekly as the girl left, the goggled leather pilot’s hat abruptly slumped over the male’s eyes and after much fumbling, the Medic adjusted the hat to where it was before. A moment of silence passed before the youth muttered:

“…Am I really that weak…?”

Shaking his head, the quiet male made his way back towards the village, contemplating on how to spend the rest of his day.
