The bold beauty would be nothing short of excited to meet her future sensei. It had been long since she was on a team and she couldn't help but smile at the idea of finally being on a squad again. She was much older than most genin so it was about time that she finally completed more dangerous missions to eventually allow her to rank up. Hayline wasn't in a rush to become a Chuunin, but she wanted to be actively doing everything in her power in order to obtain a higher official rank. Strutting down the streets of Iwagakure in her normal attire, the kunoichi would run her fingers through her hair as she wondered who exactly would she be meeting at the plaza downtown.

I hope I like them... Although she was generally easy-going, Hayline could get a bit irritated quickly by the smallest things. As long as there wasn't a loud and obnoxious teammate, she was sure that this would be most exciting thing to happen to her in months. Prior to this meeting, Hayline was completing solo D-ranked missions so you could imagine what kind of thrilling lifestyle she had. Her black shirt dangled in the wind as she drew closer and closer to the rendezvous spot. Hmm, is that her? She noticed a slender figure up ahead standing alone by the plaza.

It could have just been a civilian smoking, but there wasn't anyone else around so she figured that this must be her sensei. Interestingy enough, there weren't any other shinobi around so perhaps she was the only genin? Either way, the killer beaut. would approach the nearby figure and give a small smile, "Hi, I'm Hayline... It's nice to finally meet you. Am I the only genin assigned to you?" Straight to the point, the shinobi was unsure on how this was going to work if the squad was actually a duo.

Now came the hard part of the mission. A bunch of them decided to set up their base in the backyard area of the mansion. They thought that by hiding in the area off of the road - no one would be bothered by their presence. Clearly, they were wrong. There were five of them all gossiping and talking about whatever druggies normally talk about. A woman was talking about her adventures to the Iwagakure market place earlier that day, and another man was clearly drunk and making loud roaring sounds. Hayline decided to take a different approach to this group since they seemed more lively, yet responsive than the other group. She would attempt to "get on" their level, per se. "Heeey guys, you can't stay here, sorry! But you can set up base down the road where your other friends are." Trying to appear as pleasant as possible, she would hope they would go quietly.

Oh how wrong Hayline was. Life was never that easy, even if it really should be. The only woman of the group would loudly proclaim, "Why should we leave here! We ain't bothering nobody and this place is closed. What's wrong with us quietly minding our business here?" She had some valid points, however it wasn't any of Hayline's concern. It was her job to instruct them to leave the property and as such she would unfortunately have to tell them that. "Look, this is private property even if it's closed and I was ordered to inform you guys to clear the area. There are plenty of other spots for y'all to stay so go find one nearby."

The young beauty shrugged her shoulders. It wasn't anything personal towards them - she had never met them, but she had a job to do and that was exactly what she was going to do. The old woman would curse and relay the message to her friends. "Can you BELIEVE it? They actually hired some shinobi to come down here and tell us to clear the place. Man, this is why this place has been going downhill for years now. They got their priorities all mixed up!" Hayline actually felt sorry for the woman because in a way this place was closed down and no one even went to the backyard part of the mansion. It was off the road but still on private property. Basically, the only people that would be affected by this location are the homeless people. Go figure.

She would emphatically watch as five drunks would pick up all of their belongs and cuss under their breath. She noticed that most of them had no manners, which was odd because you'd think they would be more gentle in their tone to receive donations. I guess after a while after feeling so jaded, you just stop caring on how you appear to others. It was then that Hayline realized that her life as a ninja outside of Iwagakure might become similar. It was easy for one to lose their way and become a shell of their former shelf. She had hoped that this wouldn't happen to her, but you never know.

The last group of homeless people would make their way away from the buried mansion and towards a different spot in the nearby forest. Luckily for them there was plenty of nature nearby the outskirts of the village - so they could relocate with ease..but it wasn't as nice as the buried mansion of course. At least now they would be closer to the local lakes and rivers that they were used to. She would follow them closely behind to ensure that they were OK on their travels. It wasn't that they needed someone's guidance, but because they were a little drunk and who knows what troubling travelers might do to unarmed civilians. As soon as they found their own spot, Hayline would bid them farewell and go back to the security at the mansion and inform them of the cleared perimeters. "All cleared, sir." She would nod to the man in charge of the security as he stamped her mission complete and she'd leave the area.

After successfully cleaning up the old remains of the Iwagakure Council Chambers, Hayline's next task was to politely tell the lowlife's of the village to vacate what was once the prestigious mansion. There was a crystal wall surrounding the entire thing, and it was seemingly buried in this strong fortress. She wondered what exactly happened to cause such a commotion in two of the village elite's building. 'There must have been an internal war going on' - because all of the village's shinobi would have been alerted if intruders had taken over the place. Although she did not know exactly what happened, each mission brought her closer and closer to the truth.

As she made her way towards the outskirts of the village, she would find many homeless people and beggars on the side of the road doing what they do best, nothing. Part of her felt remorse for them. It was hard to explain why, but in her eyes they were like lost souls who once had an active life during childhood but eventually life took its toll and here they were. There was no helping them now, either. Most of them used whatever currency they could get their hands on for more sake and other drugs. They barely ate which is why most of them were so skinny too.

Even if she wasn't happy with their lifestyle, Hayline would never feel or act superior to them. An old, dirty man on the side of the street began to yell at her with his usual plea for money, "Spare some change?!" Her eyes met with his hollow eyes as she didn't really know how to respond. It was her mission, her paid duty to tell these people to leave the proximity of the buried mansion. Now that she had finally gotten to the mission's location, she realized that perhaps once again this wasn't the right mission for her. Hayline didn't have an intimidating appearance - she had a soft and quiet demeanor that almost no one took as a threat. But that was where her surprise advantage comes into play.

However, in this case, she wasn't allowed to use force to get them to leave so her genjutsu was strictly off limits. Letting out a soft sigh, she would speak to the man, "Please travel up yonder sir, this area is off-limits to travelers." Her command was short but direct. The man would look at her and now the other drunks became rowdy and circled in on her. Rolling her eyes towards the back of her head, Hayline knew that she might have to cut the polite act and be more stern in her delivery. She had no choice, and it didn't matter if she was a bit more aggressive to them anyways. As long as she didn't forcefully make them leave the property of the old mansion, she would be fine.

Another man from the crowd, even dirtier than the first would speak up, "Spare some change, ma'am!" The kunoichi began to smile at him and the other several drunks that walked closer to her because they were clearly out of it. There was no reasoning with these people. "Look, this is PRIVATE property, you guys need to leave." Extending her hand out towards the road, she would continue, "You can stay over there, but this Valentine Mansion is under investigation now. Please leave." The first old man would sneer at her as he got up slowly and began to walk down the street. She heard him mumble something under his breath like 'I'll be back anyways' but he better not have said that.

Thanks to her gifted intelligence, Hayline was able to withstand the pain in her arms by applying a 'mind over matter' mantra in her head. As she went over to pick up the last two heavy bags, she would just think to herself that the worst was almost over. "God I can't wait to get out of this village." She was a twenty year old genin still developing her talent until it was safe enough for her to venture beyond her homeland. It wasn't that she was weak, but she wanted to be seen as advanced by the time she did journey to foreign lands. She and her parents knew that once she left Iwagakure, there was no coming back. So they did everything in their power to make sure that she would be prepared for her new life. With both bags in hand, she would viciously carry them over to her sensei. This time she would give him an emotionless stare, one devoid of any feeling.

She was becoming numb. Bloop! Both bags fell abruptly from her hands as she gave out a great sigh of relief. Finally, the heavy lifting was done - at least for her. She would march on over to the damaged soil and pick up a gardening spade. It was her job to dig up the destroyed soil and replace it with a fresh batch. Once again, this was a job that could have easily been assigned to the local gardeners, but alas it was Hayline's turn to heal the village. She would take the garden spade in hand and stab it directly into the ground, placing her foot on the base of the spade to dig into the earth's core.

The good part about this mission was that it truly was a workout - something that all shinobi need to keep their strength and stamina in peak form. Normally the beauty would prefer to exercise her mind and acute chakra control, but physical shape was just as important. Using what little arm muscle she had, she would jam the spade into the ground and lift up the hardened soil. If the soil was fresh and healthy, it would have been much easier to uproot and replace. However, since there was an apparent fight in the council chambers, the soil was rough and chunky. In hindsight, Hayline realized that this specific part of the reconstruction would have probably been more appropriate for the two genin taijutsu-masters.

Even so, she understood that they couldn't do all of the physical work alone so this was her piece of the pie. With each stab into the earth, Hayline kept reminding herself that this mission brought her one step closer to finally advancing in rank and traveling across the sea. She would trug and trug on until the entire path of ruined soil was finally cleared from the earth. Gonu had instructed her to leave the pile of old soil aside for the second squad to clean up while she was to fill the empty hole with fresh soil. They were also to plant trees and flowers to make the surrounding area beautiful again. This was the part of the mission that she liked - building new life.

There was something pleasant about seeing the fresh dark soil being thrown into the hole. Perhaps she enjoyed doing this task because it felt as if she was putting forth some good into the world. Although this may seem like it an insignificant low ranked mission, she saw the bigger picture of what this meant for her future. Not only was she one step closer to the Iwagakure elite, but she would soon be the one giving orders instead of taking them. Once the soil was safely rooted in the ground, she would put on two garden gloves and begin to plant the seeds of life into the ground. Some flowers here, some trees here, and some brushes of course! She wanted the entire council chambers to look heavenly again.

There was something mystical about Fridays, and more specifically Fridays at noon in Iwagakure's marketplace. The villagers all walked with a pep in their step knowing that it was payday and that they would have the weekends off to play. However, what they did not realize was that Friday was Hayline's day to work overtime. The best way for her to gauge her genjutsu prowess would be to use them on the live inhabitants of her hometown. By using her spells on unsuspecting villagers, she would be able to observe their reactions and effectively figure out what the limits are to her magic. She did not have a willing friend to allow her to toy with their perception of reality - so this was her solution to mastering her ninja art.

As per usual, the young kunoichi would be hidden on top of a roof behind a small wall. She generally hopped from roof to roof once her ever-so-charming tricks were used in case the villagers began to figure out the puzzle to her game. Forming two quick handseals with ease, the beauty would then choose a middle-aged man as her victim for her voodoo. Her chakra would seep throughout her body and into the air, finding its way to the civilian and affecting his sight perception. She would  then have him believe that a nearby rock on the ground was actually 2,000 Ryo.

With a smug look on her face she would wait until she saw him do a double-take straight ahead on the ground towards his right. A smile appeared on the gentleman's face as he gleefully went to pick up the currency. Pleased with the results, Hayline would keep hold of this guise until he would excitedly place the money into his back pocket. Once safely there, she would then release her spell's hold over him. She sat down on the rooftop and looked up to the sky. Although she would be unable to see the man's reaction later that evening when he found out that his discovery was actually just a rock - she would sigh a great relief knowing that her genjutsu had worked.


Her deceptive abilities are only powerful if her target is unaware that they are under her influence - otherwise her entire arsenal is practically useless. This double-edged sword has its costs and benefits, but with daily practice like today she ensures the effectiveness of them. "Hmm.. Perhaps I should practice some of my more advanced stuff." The trick she had just played on that man was simple enough, but it is pretty believable to find dropped Ryo in the busy streets of Iwagakure. The daredevil child was thinking that she should step it up a notch and put on a show for the villagers.

Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique used across the shinobi world by all, ranging from the most basic shinobi to the legends of lore. Considered a high-speed movement technique - to an observer caught in the optical illusion, it appears as if the user has teleported. This allows the user to escape or attack suddenly, should they need to. However, while a high-speed movement, if used in broad daylight, one will still be quite visible and as such, easier to be defended against. In order to achieve maximum effect, the user must combine it with a distraction.

Note: Despite popular belief, this is not an ability that allows an individual to teleport, or even move incomprehensibly fast. It simply combines high mobility with some disruption of visibility to conceal those movements. That in mind, if you can conceal your movement, it is common for this technique to allow very long-distance dashes before enemies may notice you.

Fuubaku Houjin is a Ninjutsu technique used by shinobi in conjunction with common explosive devices such as exploding notes. With this, the user can choose when their explosives detonate, opposed to being at the mercy of a countdown.

Note: This ability allows the user detonate his or her explosive notes instantly, opposed to their normal "timed" explosion. Without this technique, the user cannot automatically detonate their tags.

Kai is a Ninjutsu technique which allows the ninja to avoid the effects of a Genjutsu illusion. After forming the needed handseals, the Genjutsu technique will not affect the ninja. The ninja can also use the technique on another individual who was unable to avoid the attack. After forming the needed hand seals, the ninja touches the one affected to end the affect of the spell.

The user waves their weapon back and forth which, when seen by anyone, locks them in an illusion that causes them to see multiple waving arms. The movement resembles that of a willow tree blowing in the wind. This can leave the affected caught unaware and vulnerable to strike.

Note: A maximum of five additional arms can be created.

Kasumi Juusha no Jutsu is a universal sight Genjutsu technique that creates false attackers to delay and confuse the enemy. Though these servants are not real, the actual ninja is able to remain hidden and throw projectiles such as kunai and shuriken matching the movements of the servants. This makes it appear the false servants are capable of attacking. When the enemy attempts to attack the servant, they will merely disrupt the servants illusion body but not destroy it. These clones will continue to multiply each time they are disrupted, eventually wearing the target out into a state of exhaustion.

The user performs the necessary hand seals, designating their target within their range. Immediately, the target will perceive the surface beneath their feet to be soft and giving, so much so that they begin to sink into it. The target will sink up to their knees and perceive that they are unable to free themselves from the earth, which has hardened around their legs until the technique is complete.

Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu is a simple sight Genjutsu technique which changes the appearance of a nearby object. This technique can be sustained over an area, potentially affecting everyone that enters the designated zone. The objects transformed can only be non-organic.

This technique enables the user to project an image of themselves in the sky in order to send a message or distract the target.

Kori Shinchuu no Jutsu is a simple yet effective Genjutsu technique which allows the user to play a nasty visual truck on their opponents, causing them to travel around an area lost, in circles. If the ninja is unable to detect the illusion very quickly, they can become exhausted mentally and physically when they are unable to reach their desired target by traveling along the same path over and over. Most effective in enclosed areas such as forests or jungle.

If the user comes under attack, they can use this technique to cover their escape. After forming the needed hand seals, their body will disperse into an element (birds, mist, water,etc) they have an affinity for. This dispersion will confuse and distract their opponent while they escapes or hide.

Note: Those outside of the immediate range of this technique will still be able to see the caster attempting to escape,and thus counter.

Soushuuha is a Ninjutsu technique used in order to give aerial projectiles a slight edge in combat. After the needed handseals, this technique allows the user to hover multiple projectiles (a maximum of five), like kunai, in the air while they approach a target. They can then unleash a torrent of projectiles much faster than if each was thrown individually.

Shitenshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user will project their spirit into the body of their opponent. This can be used on both animals and humans. Unfortunately, the spirit travels in a straight line at slow speed (roughly equal to C rank speed), meaning if it is avoided, their body will be left lifeless for several minutes (1 turn). During this, the target still remains in their mind, but their mental processes are forced to the side.

Note: While it is theoretically possible to "mentally overpower" the intruder, there is no adequate measurement for such a quality. As a result, if caught in the jutsu, you're caught. The ability duration is 2 rounds. That is, to the end of the caster's turn two turns later. However, this technique can be broken with a sudden burst of chakra (Eight Gates & Tailed Beasts).

Shinranshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After performing the necessary hand seals, the user sends chakra into the nervous system of their victim, confusing their body to cause them to attack their ally. While they are aware of their actions, they cannot stop them from happening. The final seal must be held for this technique to remain active.

Note: The ability duration is 2 rounds. That is, to the end of the caster's turn two turns later. However, this technique can be broken with a sudden burst of chakra (Eight Gates & Tailed Beasts).

Shinten Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Yamanaka clan. After using Shintenshin no Jutsu and performing the extra hand seal necessary for this technique, the user will split their mental energy, allowing them to capture more than one target (a maximum of two). Unlike its predecessor, their spirit does not have to travel in a straight line, but it can only turn at a 90° angle. All damage done to the victim is transferred to the user, but can be avoided by releasing the technique before it happens.

Note: Can only effect those within five meters of distance, and the bodies are only controlled for two turns before they are relinquished from control. This technique can be broken with a sudden burst of chakra (Eight Gates & Tailed Beasts).

Kekkai • Tengai Houjin is a Ninjutsu technique where the user emits a dome of Chakra around themselves after placing both palms together. This dome has a sensory effect to detect the movements of a hidden foe. Should the field touch anything the user will know its position immediately.

Note: This barrier’s maximum range is 50 meters in all directions.

Jubaku Satsu is a more advanced Genjutsu technique utilized by illusion experts. After forming the needed handseals, the user will disappear from sight in the form of a mist. This allows the user to creep up to the target unnoticed as a sudden tree rises up from the ground behind them. The tree immediately binds them into place, immobilizing the target on the spot. The user will then reappear from the trunk of the tree itself.

Raikouchuu is a Genjutsu technique that starts by generating a large flash of light from the caster which temporarily blinds the enemy. Those affected are placed within an illusion of the users choosing where the victim or their allies are in impending danger.

Young and frail, the young beauty has a rather slender frame. Her skin is pale and she bodes a short bowl-cut. Hayline has smokey gray eyes that compliment her dark hair and attire. She stands at five-foot seven and weighs one-hundred and thirty pounds. Her skin is as smooth as a child's and her lips are soft like a freshly fluffed pillow. The girl appears to be gentle yet distant upon a first glance; however, there is a looming look of despair that tends to consume her face when you stare at her for too long. She is normally pegged as the 'quiet' type - but they say the quiet ones are always the most dangerous.

Hayline typically wears a long black shirt with long sleeves to conceal her senbon launcher on her right arm. Generally, she wears short shorts that just reveal themselves from under the long black shirt. The idea behind her attire is that the loose clothing allows her to be as nimble as possible. She wears black combat boots on her feet and her Iwagakure headband proudly on her forehead. Though her attire looks as plain as ever, it allows for her to take the role as a kunoichi seriously and blend in with her environment. Only on special occasions will she opt-in to wear a kimono.

Hayline is a difficult person to attempt to understand. Her personality changes depending on the situation, time, setting, and the people around her or lack thereof. Generally, she is very optimistic and obnoxious. She loves to think of positive solutions to any issue that arises. Whether the odds are against her during a dangerous mission, or a valuable artifact was broken within her home, she will normally try and figure out what is the best way to amend the situation. In foreign lands, Hayline tries to be more reserved and keep her opinions to herself; however, when she is in her comfort zone or completely pushed out of it, she can be quite loud and rude.

Normally she likes to observe first before taking action, but she is flexible enough to adapt to most situations. Being an older genin, she has more experience than your average shinobi and thus takes her time assessing the potential danger in front of her. Overall she can be quite enthusiastic when she feels at ease but otherwise she is generally more reserved when on call.
