There was something mystical about Fridays, and more specifically Fridays at noon in Iwagakure's marketplace. The villagers all walked with a pep in their step knowing that it was payday and that they would have the weekends off to play. However, what they did not realize was that Friday was Hayline's day to work overtime. The best way for her to gauge her genjutsu prowess would be to use them on the live inhabitants of her hometown. By using her spells on unsuspecting villagers, she would be able to observe their reactions and effectively figure out what the limits are to her magic. She did not have a willing friend to allow her to toy with their perception of reality - so this was her solution to mastering her ninja art.

As per usual, the young kunoichi would be hidden on top of a roof behind a small wall. She generally hopped from roof to roof once her ever-so-charming tricks were used in case the villagers began to figure out the puzzle to her game. Forming two quick handseals with ease, the beauty would then choose a middle-aged man as her victim for her voodoo. Her chakra would seep throughout her body and into the air, finding its way to the civilian and affecting his sight perception. She would  then have him believe that a nearby rock on the ground was actually 2,000 Ryo.

With a smug look on her face she would wait until she saw him do a double-take straight ahead on the ground towards his right. A smile appeared on the gentleman's face as he gleefully went to pick up the currency. Pleased with the results, Hayline would keep hold of this guise until he would excitedly place the money into his back pocket. Once safely there, she would then release her spell's hold over him. She sat down on the rooftop and looked up to the sky. Although she would be unable to see the man's reaction later that evening when he found out that his discovery was actually just a rock - she would sigh a great relief knowing that her genjutsu had worked.


Her deceptive abilities are only powerful if her target is unaware that they are under her influence - otherwise her entire arsenal is practically useless. This double-edged sword has its costs and benefits, but with daily practice like today she ensures the effectiveness of them. "Hmm.. Perhaps I should practice some of my more advanced stuff." The trick she had just played on that man was simple enough, but it is pretty believable to find dropped Ryo in the busy streets of Iwagakure. The daredevil child was thinking that she should step it up a notch and put on a show for the villagers.

"What a BEAUTIFUL day...!"

Though it went against his advisors best wishes, F chose to stroll through Iwa's marketplace on a beautiful friday at noon, the sun high and the area filed with eager merchants and buyers looking to find only the best product. Now that the village finally began to settle down and head into a more positive direction, he wanted to see the regrowth himself, as if to inspired the people during their work. HIs staff insisted he attend more meetings regarding planning further reconstruction, but F was tired; for once, he just wanted to get out. Having only recently unlocked the secrets of the Earth Grudge Fear, he'd spent most of his time pent up, understanding solely the abomination he had become.

"..."

Still, there was no reason he couldn't enjoy a beautiful day. Guard in tow, he advanced through the market, occasionally stopping to buy some snack for himself and his entourage, as well as those waiting back at the tower. His pace was steady, and while he was open to others, his guard allowed no one to enter within five meters of his presence. After all, Iwa had just endured multiple assassinations, their council killed and burned; it was not something the guards wanted to happen again. Still, the Uchiha's will was strong. It was time to live and get out.

"Ya-ki-to-ri!!!"

They arrived at a Yakitori stand. As his guard cleared the area, he approached to observe the menu excitedly.. He wouldn't know it yet, but a strange genjutsu wielding shinobi would be nearby, though currently  out of sight. Oh well; it was time to eat!

'Well well... it must be my lucky day.' Just as the wicked vixen had decided that she wanted to take her wizardly show to the next level - an audience of important stature had arrived. 'Is that...the new Tsuchikage himself?' It had to be him, who else could it be? He was the only person that would stroll through the village with armed men surrounding him. Though she wasn't sure what business he had being here... especially when this was her playground at this very hour. Could it be that he heard of her mischievous pranks that she plays on the villagers every week? It wasn't as if she ever harmed anyone so she couldn't imagine word spreading of the weird happenings that occurred at the marketplace outside of the commoners.

Even so, she would carefully watch their movements as he proceeded to head towards a food stand. Her big, loosely fitted black shirt would flap around as the wind began to pick up. Her heart grew nervous as she wasn't sure just what to do yet. Surely she wanted a challenge - but attempting to use her ninja art on the Tsuchikage could be perceived as an act of war. Unfortunately for her, the best decision she could think of was to end her Friday fun for now and approach the man once he was seated at the Yakitori bar. Well, at least then she hoped that he would be eating and not taking his food to go since his entourage had cleared the entire place of civilians.

With her equipment safely tucked away in their respective places, Hayline would sigh as she prepared to reveal herself to the group. Standing up on the rooftop, she would then leap forward and land on the ground as nimble as a cat. She would be stationed approximately 15 meters behind and to the right of the group sitting at the bar. Of course, being that they were well trained ninja - she was sure that they would be able to sense her immediate presence and look her way. Either way she had her Iwagakure headband proudly visible on her forehead so there shouldn't be any problems. They would probably realize that she was a local genin, seeing as she had never talked to any of them before and most higher ranked shinobi have probably had meetings with them.

She would give a small bow to the group had they looked over at her approaching figure. Regardless of whether they did or did not notice her, once she was within 10 meters of the group she would coolly say, "Mind if I join you, Tsuchikage?" And then with a flick of her wrist, she would address the chef that was taking orders, "I'll have whatever he's having, on him!" Though it was a bold move to invite herself to eat with the Tsuchikage - and have him pay, it showed him just what kind of lady she was. Despite her low rank, she was much more experienced than most genin in any village and it showed in her demeanor. Of course she was nervous, but it was the rush of the unknown that gave her the courage to meet this man.

"It's such a lovely Friday, isn't it?" Fidgeting around his armed guards to find a comfortable seat at the bar, Hayline would excuse herself to find the nearest seat next to the Tsuchikage's immediate left and take it. Clearly, she was an ally comrade so hopefully the group had manners to include her in as one of their own, since she was. "I love to just walk along the rooftops and watch the villagers go by... there's something so... magical about it all." She couldn't really find the words to explain her thought process, but she figured he would understand what she was getting at anyways. The truth of the matter was she wanted to talk business with him, and more importantly the business about the Iwagakure Council Chambers and the Valentine Mansion - but it would be rude for her to do so when he so graciously bought her lunch.

"AND whoM might you be...!?"

It didn't take long for his favorite eatery to finally be prepared for his presence. It wasn't a matter of arrogance; no…given all of the recent transgressions perpetrated against Iwa by their own, it was only natural the Shodaime would take the necessary precautions to remain safe at all times. It was not a matter of weakness, nor frailty; though peace had reigned for some time, the assassination of the council was still fresh in the minds of the villages, as was Mitsy's defection. As such, while the entire village was still being secured, F had to remain vigilant. His security detail recommended it, and although he knew he was more than able to handle himself, there were plenty of times during the day he felt like just relaxing; finally, he would cave into the idea of a constant armed guard following him at all times. They currently were displacing hungry civilians from the yakitori restaurant. Great.

"Oi! Make sure all of those tabs are picked up for the restaurant, and that all of those patrons get a little cash so that they can come back…"

"…don't want them thinking I'm an asshole, now do we, Gacha!?"

One of his main guards, Gacha, was extremely able and talented at his job, but unfortunately, also overly paranoid. He made it hard to remain sensitive to the people with his rough approach, often assaulting and detaining spectators that were "too rowdy" during his speeches; F couldn't even count the times he had to apologize on his behalf. But as much of a loose cannon as he was, Gacha was extremely reliable; there was a reason F kept him around. And as if on queue, the man in question suddenly spoke up, reaction to an unknown kunoichi that appeared out of nowhere, right after the establishment was cleared out cordoned off. Though she bore Iwa tags, a cordon was a cordon; she was much too confident. Gacha didn't like this, but F,,for now, seemed to not mind - as long as she abided by the new temporary rules. For the moment, Gacha stood between the two, his bald head and beady eyes locked on hers, a scowl worn at all times. What a scary, ugly fucker.

"Of course, young lady, though you must first pass the toll…"

"…lest we forget, new village rules require all arms surrender during checkpoints as a result of the recent terrorists acts upon Iwa."

"Though I sense your goodness, critical minds always employ precautions for a reason..."

"...so yeah, I don't mind feeding your bold self, but you do owe me some explanations."

Gacha would not let her get any close than those ten meters by that table until she gave up her arms. Though momentarily, she would only be allowed to approach the Shodaime once her items created for violence were removed. Gacha was a thorough searcher, and with some special hidden talents hidden under his sleeve, there was not much he would miss.

"So let's do this. If you wanna sit, you gotta give me your name. If you wanna eat, you need to tell me why you're here. If you wanna stay more than a few minutes, you need to tell me why I should pay any attention to you at all."

"Oh, and only my commander sit with me - you get that spot."

He'd point to a lone, shabby table ten meters way, guard in tow at all angles. The kunoichi was quite interesting. He knew the martial law imposed to keep most villagers unarmed was simply a ploy to keep his story true, but in the end, it was F that wore the council's blood on his hand. Then again, with their evil and corrup ways, was the murder he partook on that bad…? Had he erred so exorbitantly…? No, he thought not. Sometimes evil must beget evil before good could take ahold. Though much very flawed, his way of thinking had so far brought stability to the region. As such, he did not feel bad. But this temporary law was fun nonetheless, plus it kept any loyalists irked at the concept of a foreigner claiming the ultimate throne at bay.

"I enjoy confidence, but I've had a long day. If you can play along, you're good..."

"...however -  fall off the ride and you'll get run over."

As expected, a rather large and overly protective guard interfered with the lady's direct conversation with the Tsuchikage. She would keenly observe the man's word as he must be the gatekeeper to gain an audience with the man of the hour himself. He'd inform her that she would need to disarm herself... interesting. She could understand why they would be worried about the potential threat of her actually being an enemy in disguise, but to ask her to remove her items seemed to be a bit much. Wouldn't a shinobi have other tools to disable the sacred man if they truly wanted to? Either way, the kunoichi decided to play along for now. "But am I not a soldier to the Tsuchikage like yourself? Surely if an enemy were to appear, is it not my sole duty as a genin to defend him with my life like you? How would I do that if you were to take my weapons?" Although she gave him a quick retort, she would reveal her hidden senbon launcher and remove it from her right arm. She would also remove her weapon pouch with five senbon in them and hand them over.

"You mean to tell me that you cannot recognize one of your own? This is actually frightening." She was displeased with the formality of the "new" Iwagakure. This tends to happen anytime there is a civil war - however how did he expect to gain the trust of the citizens and rebuild what was lost if he can't even trust them? She already felt alienated. The large guard stopped her from proceeding to take a seat next to the silent man which displeased her once again. He told her to state her reason for being, which was an odd question to her. He seemed overtly aggressive to such a petite woman such as herself.

"The name's Hayline, and I am a genin to this lovely land. I always stroll these parts on a Friday, so you could imagine my excitement when I see none other than the new Tsuchikage also visiting the marketplace." Her story wasn't fascinating, but it was the truth. Who were they to question why she was walking in her own land, on a Friday afternoon at that. If anything, why were they visiting these parts? With all of the destruction and reconstruction going on in the village - you would think that they would be hard at work trying to restore order. She supposed that even he needed a break from the chaos too.

Hayline would shake her head at the request of the guard, she would not sit at some table far away from the group. How rude would it be for them to offer her a meal and not even sit with her. This was an outrage! "Tell ya what, I'm actually not even hungry, but thanks for the offer. When you've settled down on your paranoia quest, I'd like to talk to the Tsuchikage - not his right hand man. I've just completed two missions rebuilding the destroyed Council Chambers and Valentine Mansion, so I'd appreciate if you'd change your tone with me. I'm doing just as much work as you are trying to help this village, though unlike you - I have no idea what happened to cause the destruction of both places." She was looking for answers... but would he be willing to provide them?

"Hay-line!"

She was persistent, but in a way that intrigued the Uchiha even further. Evidently she was not afraid of expressing herself, and although careful to mind her manners, her confidence was very telling of her overall demeanor. Worst of all, F actually found himself agreeing with her to a certain extent, though he’d be careful to not voice this, for fear of feeding into some form of predetermined game. This was their first meeting, after all.

"..."

He didn’t say much though she had plenty to divulge herself, lending itself perfectly to the current situation at hand; portions of his food were already being brought before him, the stand a favorite spot of the Tsuchikage, and thus, always ready to serve his favorite dish merely by seeing him. In the mean time, as she surrendered her weapons, a nearby guard held them monetarily, keeping them as they were given, anticipating a quick return. Now, after her monologue, F felt he had something good to offer her. A piece of sauce smothered pork with fresh vegetables steamed before his eyes, but he’d be quick to speak before his mouth was occupied with the savory treat.

“Hayline, is it..? M'dear, it’s not about recognition, it’s about precaution."

"This village was nearly uprooted not too long ago, twice for that matter, all by its very own children. Iwa doesn’t deserve any more treachery…”

“…and besides, I have big plans for this place! So, until the mood is calm, I’ll have to take my measures.”

She was a fan of walks? Fascinating. He found that although he was quite industrious, laborious, and a fan of constant work overall, his new position was stressful enough that a formidable means of disconnecting was in order. Being young and a leader of a very powerful military force, taking to narcotics and drinking was not the wisest or healthiest way to unwind and cope with the pressures of work. However, there were other means. Nature and walks were one of them. Thus, today was one of the days he needed to detach from the office, get away, and enjoy some soul food, all while giving his mind a rest. On top of this, he was also showing for the villagers; everyone was a winner! He chomped on his food without fear. He’d answer in between bites, some words muffled or mispronounced as a result.

“I. Commend. You. On. That! Tough jobs indeed…”

After a few solid gulps, he’d wash the food down with wonderful tea. This was it – heaven! As soon as he employed his napkin to remain civilized, he’d add his own line of inquiry.

“Tell me – how does this all make you feel…and what exactly is it that you want, Hay?”

“Mind if I call you that? Lovely name, by the way…”

A sudden OCCURRENCE!?

Hayline had proven hereof to be a very interesting kunoichi, to the point F's interest was peaked enough to warrant him a desire for further interaction. While his personal squad was solid at the moment, she presented an insurmountable level of potential and talent, as well a sense of charm good enough that even a Kage looked past her indiscretions in favor of casual conversation. In fact, it was such that he even allowed her to remain as a witness to his pigging out! The first course was demolished within minutes; before he could request a second round, the cooks were already plating his noodles. It was fantastic. The only thing that'd make this better would be sake; unfortunately, it was still too early in the day to catch a buzz, especially with everything he had planned to get done. He'd leave the alcohol for the end of the day, when the weight of the village would lighten from his shoulder - if just for a few moments.

"..."

But it seemed their meeting would be cut short. Soon after receiving his second helping, an attendant of the tower would come by, excusing himself to both the Tsuchikage and his company, claiming to have some news F was best to hear then. He hesitated at first, especially given his hunger and the amount of pleasure he was deriving from the succulent meal, but as much as his internal frustration would build, he reminded himself that he had chosen this lifestyle. As the leader of the hidden village in Stone, he was responsible for everyone under his 'roof'. His time was no longer his; it was everyone else's. At this point, he could either get frustrated and allude to the idea of a vacation, or he'd simply suck it up and do his job. As much as the former was an attractive choice, he'd soon stick to the latter. A deep sigh later, he'd gulp down the last of his noodles, a free hand prompting the shinobi to speak his urgent message.

**But sir…she cannot hear...**

Another sigh later, he would slowly rise, tossing his chopsticks down in an annoyed fashion while choosing to speak with the Genin off to the side, rather than in front of everyone. It was most likely the proper way of doing things, but once again, when F was hungry and tired, he would tend to get lazy and careless. This was one of these times. Fortunately for him, he had surrounded himself with some very bright advisors. They would help him stay sane. Before leaving, he'd make sure to flip the cooking staff a thumbs up, urging them to cook more rounds of food in anticipation of his return once the message was discussed in private. They undoubtedly accepted, bowing upon his exit. One more task remained; to excuse himself from Hayline's presence in a most presentable manner.

"Miss Hayline, you must excuse me, but I have to take care of certain matters. Can we resume our meeting at the tower, perhaps at a later date?"

" Well, regardless, I anticipator our next discussion!"

After shooting her a smile, he'd prepare to leave. He had no intentions of exiting permanently, but as soon as the aide spoke of the news - the body of a Kikkawa had been found in the abandoned hospital known as Alexandria - he knew it was time to go. While the Genin's murder took place some time ago, and his heart steadily and healthily beat on within F's chest, he had left the scene as an unfortunate robbery gone wrong, a product of the violence the civil war brought. He was surprised it took this long to find the body, though then again, the hospital was abandoned until recently, when Bae placed a bid to take it over. He assumed the body was found during some form of renovations. Well, it was now time to play the part. Though he was bummed about the food, this matter was pressing. Saying nothing more, he motioned for his remaining staff to bag the food up and take it back to the tower. It'd be a shame to let such good food go to waste.
