A couple of sunrays peeked down from the clouds while the female was on her way to a local fish shop. She entered the door and the smell of fresh fish went up her nose.
Yuki was not the biggest fish fan, but it was going to be her mission for today. "Hello. I wondered if I could please borrow a fishing rod" said the girl as she looked up at the man behind the counter.
"Do you have your mission papers?" said the butcher with a slightly suspicious voice. "Give me a second" said the Genin before she checked her weapon pouch.
She gave him the stamped paper; the hitai-ate tied around her head like a headband should be proof enough. "Right...off you go. You can use these as bait and this to keep the fishes in" said the man before he handed her a fishing rod, a gray bucket and a can with bait.
"Thank you sir!" said the female with a smile and left the shop with the rod in one hand. Funny thing was, the rod was only four inches shorter than she was.
'I need to find a good place to fish. I don't know what kind of fish they want, but I suppose it has to be a fish that people normally eat' thought the brunette. She then tried to think of a place where people would go fishing.
'I'll see if I can get anything at the river' thought the girl. She knew it laid about 10 minutes away, but it was a chance that she could get something there.
Yuki maneuvered her small body through the crowds before she reached the river. There were a couple of people at the riverbank, most of them old men. She opened the box of bait and stuck out her tongue in disgust; it was filled with worms.
"Eeeew....I don't like these" muttered the female as she impaled one of them with a fishing hook. But now, she had to get it into the water. The Genin decided to ask the man next to her for help.
"Could you please tell me how to use this?" asked the Genin while she looked at him. "Yes" said the man before he stood up.
"Hold your right hand a little back like this first and hold in that green button" said the man and pointed at the green button.
She nodded before she hold her left hand a little back. "Toss your hand forward like this and let go of the button when the rod point forwards. You have to do this a little fast" said the man. The girl threw her left hand forwards before she let go of the green button.
A glint of silver went through the air before the hook landed in the water. 'Looks like I have to wait for the fish to get here' thought the brunette while she sat down.
Some of the guys had five or even six fishes laying next to them; this was a good spot. Her small hands had a good grip around the fishing rod in case something got onto it. Suddenly, something at the other end started to pull the rod.
Ice blue eyes looked down at the small handle to her right; it looked like it was attached to the wire. She started to spin the handle towards her while her small body leaned back to counter.
It looked quite comical, but it was worth it when the fish appeared. Yuki grinned when she saw the medium-sized catfish that had bitten onto the hook. She pulled the fish up and laid the creature in the bucket.
