Walking through the countryside of Kaminari no Kuni, over a beaten but otherwise secluded dirt path that cut straight through a valley of pine trees, I read over the top-secret document in my possession. Unraveling the scroll before me, my analyzing glare read through its contents. The Yonbi was rampaging in Kusa no Kuni. Reports indicated it looked like an intensely modified gorilla- muscular, spiked in some areas, and physically intimidating. But I would not know the truth of it until I arrived at ground-zero with the other ninja would had joined the cause to seal it away. I'd heard stories of the bijuu before this one, the ones I had missed. The Hachibi, would had torn across Kaminari no Kuni while I was preoccupied at the Chuunin Exams. The dreaded Rokubi. But I wouldn't miss another again- not if I could help it.
Putting the scroll away, among with my other possessions, I would continue to follow this beaten path of mine. Pine forests, green plains, and skies of gray. Scenery that I knew all too well, scenery that I had grown accustomed to. Needless to say, it was comforting to my mind. The path soon lead me astray, to the mountains of my home. Canyon passages, snowy walkways and rocky outcrops. It was a nice little hike, but a bit tiring after the tenth hill side or so. The cold winds that blew through the air like howling lost souls made my cheeks red with the cold. The freeze was bitter and unwarranted, but I mustered through. Going through this mountains successfully would ultimately lead me to the Land of Hot Springs, then to Hi no Kuni, then to Kusa. Kusa no Kuni. I wondered how it had fared... when the first apocalypse had hit. I could hardly remember what it looked like then, before the disaster.
