After managing to produce the proper substance once more, Usio was treated to a show of hiding the liquid. Whatever Hasuka had added to the beaker broke up the coloring effect of the herb, making look like simple water. It was as if nothing was added in the first place. Interesting. After that, they were tasked with recreating the effect, but by working together. Friggin' wonderful. Usio didn't get along with other people very well. He could fake formality and courtesy, but he generally disliked being with and working with others. Well, he wouldn't pass if he didn't do this, so he begrudgingly started up the process. Filling a beaker with water, he put it on the burner at the same setting that he had done it at.
The girl he was to work with had already started grinding up the herb, but took a split-second to adjust the temperature of the burner. Apparently, he set it a little too high. Well, who was he to argue? It wouldn't get anything done, at any rate. She quickly finished grinding the herb, and set to adding it to the water. Grabbing the bottle of whatever substance masked the color, he waited as she started to stir it around. After two spins, he took the bottle and uncapped it. He moved to tilt it towards the beaker, but stopped. His hand was shaking. God, why was he so nervous today? Exhaling sharply, he steadied his grip and moved to add two drops. After capping it off, it immediately set to work, dissipating the hues of blue that was swirling around. The girl moved to multitask, stirring while simultaneously setting up the vial for storing the salve. Well, it seemed he was not needed anymore. Turning to his left, he instead started cleaning the vials and beakers they were not using anymore. She'd probably turn the vial in as well. Less work for me, I suppose. Whatever.[/color] Usio kept rubbing the glass with a cleaning rag, watching the remaining student finish up.
