Bearing the crest of the flame beneath their left collar bone, the Minakami family is established of akin to the formation of a gang. Though many of its family members are blood relatives, one does not have to be born a Minakami to take the name and bear the mark of flame. It is a family where all members are just that, holding the utmost trust for one another, and the loyalty of comradeship that cannot be broken. However, once a Minakami there is no turning back. Those adopted into the family and brought in as oath brothers (or sisters) are expected to be just that, and betraying family is the highest of crimes to commit in your lifetime. Your previous life is forfeit when bearing the mark of rebirth, the flame that purifies your past. You are no longer a Nara, an Inuzuka, a Hozuki, or warrior. You are an Assassin of the deities, born of the gods.

MANIFESTATION,
From the shadows a family arises to prominence, claiming ancestry to the heavens itself. It is for this reason the clan is led by the Tennō (天皇), the divine offspring to bring unity beneath one name. The family, though comprising namely of the progeny of the Tennō currently, is not one in which is exclusive to those born of a certain person. It is not a bloodline, and therefore bears no special 'perks' under its name. It is a collection of men and women united together as close as a family could be, and it is from this uncertain collection of men and women of various backgrounds and ethnics that the Minakami will be formed.

BECOMING OF THE GODS,
One cannot be a member of the Minakami simply in namesake. It is a trust that is earned, a loyalty that must be observed. They fight for no village and abandon the rules the current society has laid out, as the world itself is their home. With no true loyalty but to the Tennō, the Minakami remains strong no matter the situation - whether they roam the world as a nomadic band or fortify themselves as an army in control of one of the shinobi villages. Becoming a Minakami for an outsider (as those born to a member of a Minakami, or the offspring of an outsider successfully brought into the family fold will always be recognized and tattoo'd with the insignia seal at the age of fourteen) must be done through a series of tests: courage, charisma, and cunning. The first test, courage, usually involves some form of proving ones bravery. Courage is not to be confused with recklessness, and courage should not be displayed in a manner that puts a family members life at stake. The second test, charisma, must be accomplished before moving to the third. It is less of a test, and more of a way of getting to know you - and for you to prove that you can truly find a place within the family. Finally, the third test is cunning, putting one's intellect to the test. It involves obtaining victory without the use of brute strength and high ranking techniques, proving that you are indeed possible of maintaining your strength throughout a battle and keeping your head. The seal in which is placed upon the outsider is one that is connected to all, and it is in this method that truly makes a Minakami bound to their family forever more. Escape is truly impossible from family, you know.

CULTURE OF THE GODS,
The culture of the Minakami family is vastly different from what current society dictates. Strongly influenced by what they claim to be the true ancestry of the nomadic tribes of Kaze no Kuni, they recognize themselves as Hashshashi people, the Assassin race. As the Assassin's came before what is now 'Shinobi', they claim that the land of Wind was once a foreign Kingdom populated by men and women from another land. History dictates that Kaze no Kuni was barren and neglected long before a village was created, and it was the Hashshashins who began to build up upon the barren wastes of sand, turning it into something to envy. Long before Shinobi were created, the Kingdom of Sand was ransacked and left to ruin by the Northern Men, and colonies was built by the conquerors as they forced the Hashshashi people from their homes and into the blazing deserts. It is for this reason the Assassin's roamed as outlanders, developing a nomadic culture of tribes that soon lost unity. It is now that beneath the banner of the Minakami, many noteworthy people of the Hashshashi race have come together to reclaim their ancient Kingdom, to create a new Babylon on the blood of the Northern Men. Arabic speaking men and women, they maintain a culture equivalent to our Middle East, with those who have built small oasis villages having homes made of sun charred adobe brick, date palm trees hanging over head - homes furnished by Persian carpets and paintings of calligraphy adorning their walls. Typical dress are mainly modernized in this day and age, though many still wear turbans loosely about their heads, unshaven or rugged dark skinned faces easily concealed, and generally scimitars or katars tucked in their sashes. Superstitious people, they maintain a belief in the afterlife, though believe that some are indeed capable of rebirth through the power of the divine. It is this culture that the Minakami family has adopted, with many forsaking their previous names and undertaking a name suitable to the Hashshashi culture. No longer wishing to associate with a society bred for war and carnage, they determine their own fates and maintain their own laws of society, strictly followed by all who believe in the Tennō. The form of government in which they also maintain is different in the fact it is dynasty based (in which the governmental dynasty is referred to as a Caliphate), in which the rulers of a village are direct descendants of the Tennō.

BATTLE OF THE GODS,
Enemies of the Minakami are fought as one, as wronging one member of the family equates to wronging the whole. There is no quarter given to those who assault a member of the clan, there is no forgiveness given to those who succeed in killing one. Until the blood debt has been repaid in either the slaying of the guilty's relative of equal relation to the murdered Minakami to the Tennō, the Minakami will neither cooperate or assist the one responsible for the murder, or his or her family. Honor systems are outdated, as the life of an Assassin dictates that everything is better done in small groups of three. The fighting style of the Minakami is a clever one, its members trained to be calm and collected, cunning one of the primary attributes associated to the family. Engaging in battle that will surely end in failure or death is frowned upon, though sacrificing oneself to save another member of the family is viewed upon as one of the few methods of gaining a choice of 'reincarnation' or martyrdom in the bliss (essentially heaven). As the flame is the symbol of the Minakami, Katon techniques are highly practiced and considered sacred to the family, personal techniques developed within the clan under the element. Mass destruction is looked down upon, the destruction of villages and defilement of the world's prosperity is viewed as sin, unless it is done so through the Minakami's flame. The flame is as natural as the world's prosperity, and rebirth can occur much more naturally than if massive destruction had been caused by torrents of water or tornadoes. Much respect is given to the earth due to having lived so long in the barren sands of Wind Country, and many do their best to hold back in performing techniques that could forever alter the landscape for centuries to come. If forced however, permission to do so is given in extreme cases, under the circumstance that the member laying waste to the earth is responsible for ensuring trees are replanted, grass is regrown, flora is returned to its state of abundance, and the likening.

A collection of men and women who, perhaps were not born from the same family, same name, or even same country. However, under their friendship and unity they have become that - loyal to their liege and loyal to their kin, willing to do whatever it takes to defend their brothers and sisters that share the same name. Playing a Minakami requires approval from myself, so please be certain to contact me if interested as there are certain aspects needed to be taken into consideration, and only certain types of characters wanted or realistically acceptable to this family. Below is a list of the current Minakami; whether they be active, inactive, or deceased as well as a small summary of their character.

NOTE: Blank slots are given a general outline in relation to the family of the Tennō, however you are free to apply for pretty much anything outside of direct children and wives of Shu so long as it makes reasonable sense.

Though initially it began as a loving relationship, Zinaida became embittered and disgusted by her spouses inability to keep his hands off other women and men, unfaithful to an extremity. Soon Zinaida found herself in marriage with a man who was also "married" to two other women, and it is this way she became known as the "First Wife". However she remains steadfast in loyalty to him mainly due to his power and prestige, and as a lioness to her seven children born between them.

A calculating young man, Soratsu was born from the same mother of Youka, making them full siblings. Like many of the younger generation Etsuko, blood of the Uchiha flows through their veins, with Soratsu being one of the strongest.
