The red haired kunoichi dashed as fast as her legs could carry her, a medium sized box with holes and a handle in her arms against her chest. She was running late for her second mission of the day -- babysitting the children of a Jonin couple that had several duties around the village that evening. Though she was merely a Genin, she knew how incredibly important Jonin were to a village's ability to operate, whether they were away from home or stationed within their village's borders. After all, her entire life had consisted of shinobi activities.
Skidding to a halt, she found herself outside of a modest home just minutes from the Kusakage Atrium. A family of four was standing just outside, the two adults dressed in shinobi garb and looking around, likely for Kasumi. "I'm so sorry I'm late! I took on two missions today and the first one took a little longer than I thought because I wanted to bring something for the kids," she explained hastily, placing the box containing her gift down on the ground.
"You really took up this mission? I thought only Genin took on these kinds of things," the woman said, a small smirk on her face. "I am a Genin. I started sort of late," Kasumi replied, her response leaving much to the imagination. "That doesn't really matter right now. We're both gonna have to run if we're to be on time. I'm supposed to be on patrol and my wife is due at the Atrium. We really appreciate you watching the kids," the man said, kissing both of the children on the head after the woman had. "Well it's not a problem at all," Kasumi said with a smile, "I'm gonna take them to the park, so you can find us there later," she finished. With a nod, the man disappeared, and but a second after, so did the woman.
Left alone with the children, Kasumi turned her attention to them. Two boys, no older than 7 stood before her, each with an expression that showed the depths of their disinterest. Though she smiled at them, they returned bored stares. She imagined that they must get left with random babysitters a lot due to their parents' standing in the village, so she looked past it and didn't hold it against them. "Come on, we're gonna go to the park," she said, picking the box up and holding it to her chest. When they moved only slightly and very sluggishly, she spoke again, very nonchalantly. "I've got a surprise for you guys." That choice of words and tone seemed to interest them enough to warrant a pick up of their pace, making Kasumi smile a small, knowing smile.
