Kagami has always been on the more petite side, especially for a kunoichi who is likely to see some type of combat in her life. Not one for physical activity, she didn't build much muscle during her time in the Ninja Academy, though she could still keep up with the best of them when necessary. Not what you would call a toothpick, and not the skinniest girl that there ever was, she is rather frail looking because of her body type and other physical characteristics that lend themselves to something of a sickly appearance.
Her skin is perpetually pale, and her lips are a soft pink hue, almost as if she had once been drained of all the blood and warmth that her body might have ever held. Though not white as snow, and certainly not possessing the complexion of a corpse, she is often asked if she is alright, if she is feeling well, and if there is anything that she needs. People also tell her to sit down very often, worried that she'll pass out and hurt herself.
As deathlike as most of her body might appear, however, the life that she holds within her shines through in her eyes. A deep red colors each orb, and a softness and gentleness that cannot be detected otherwise pours out of them occasionally, especially when interacting with children. More often than not, though, there is a hardness to her gaze that keeps others at bay. Even before she showed her aptitude for Genjutsu, people said that her red eyes signified that one day, she would be a great talent in the area of illusions.
And finally, her hair is a deep auburn color and falls to just above her shoulders and just below her earlobes. Over the years she has worked to develop a fringe that falls flawlessly over her forehead, covering everything above her eyes, including her eyebrows. She has become somewhat known for her chosen style of hair, as well as the striking effect that comes from the combination of her hair and eye colors.
Apparel;
Kagami tries to dress nicely because of her being of the female gender. Though not overly feminine, she feels that as a woman, she should dress the part, so to speak. She also likes the idea of being underestimated because of her appearance; she thinks that it might give her some sort of element of surprise.
That being said, she like to keep it simple, keeping her color choices to three specific hues -- a deep but cool red, similar in shade to her eyes, light grey, as if pulled from a sky that is about to experience a light storm, and the darkest, midnight black. She also lives with the idea that less can be, and often is, more, especially when it comes to appearances, both real and illusionary.
Her outfit begins with a light grey, form fitting cotton shirt that exposes both her shoulders and sleeves that measure just above two inches in length. The shirt itself ends just below where her shorts begin around the area of her hips. These shorts end about an inch above her knees, and are pitch black in color. On her right leg she carries her shuriken holster, and on the back of her left hip rests her item pouch, each colored the same as her shirt. Her ninja sandals are black in color like her shirts.
To literally top everything off, she wears a deep red poncho, barely a shade darker than her eyes. It is neither incredibly long nor incredibly short, falling just below the area where her belly button is on her stomach and maintaining the same length all around. It covers her shoulders some, though not much, and therefore hides the grey shirt save for at the bottom. Around her neck she wears her Kusagakure headband, tied with the darkest black cloth.

Personality;
Growing up in Kusagakure, Kagami didn't have as easy a childhood as she might have had in a more prosperous, better off land. As her homeland was plagued by poverty, famine and other misfortunes at the time of her birth, so was she and her lower class family. This upbringing affected her significantly, both physically and mentally.
She was almost always hungry and dirty, but unlike other children, this affected her more positively than negatively. It shaped her into being a very determined and outspoken young woman, dead set on making a better hand for herself than the one that she had been dealt. She also feels this way about others who have suffered through being poor, hungry, and unlucky in life. No matter who they are or where they hail from, Kagami will stick up for anybody that lives the life she used to live.
As a parallel, she can't stand people that are rude towards the poor, or act as if they are entitled to anything they want. She often has to exert the highest amount of will power to keep from verbally assaulting them, having at least enough sense to know that it won't help anything or anyone to do so. She is forever under the impression that people like that are unable to change or be different from how she has always viewed them -- selfish.
To other people she is generally very friendly, but not so far as to be considered bubbly. She treats others with kindness because she knows what it is like to be treated with disdain and disrespect, as she often experienced it not only from those who were rich and well off, but also from others who were in the same situation of being hungry and dirty as she was. She knows that even one kind word can make a difference, and it is something that she strives to do every single day.
Her life growing up left her with several scars of sorts. She has never been able to laugh at much of anything, and any time she does laugh is rare. Instead, she smiles a large smile, some people call it a Cheshire grin. She also has never cut her nails, and never learned to either. Instead, she resorts to biting them, not out of fear or because of nerves, but because she likes to keep them short. She is also very self aware, and makes it a point to keep herself neat and tidy. Having grown up in filthy and found clothing, and because she feels the need to, she makes sure to always look presentable and attractive.
Overall, she is heavily influenced by her past, and having come from nothing, she is driven and determined to never return to it. She also wishes to get anybody she can from her past into better standings, to a more fruitful life. Though she is well aware that she can't solve the problem of poverty, she knows that if she tries, she can make a change and help people. It's part of why she entered the Ninja Academy.
