it's so sad.
that loss, that series of unfortunate events. born into a family of great riches and fame, a life of lavish was seemingly in the waits for young Nina. her family possessed a powerful ability, the ability to create priceless gems with a mere thought. not only priceless where these gems, but they were also peerless. few strengths within the village could stand up to the crystal created by Nina's kin. luckily, or actually, unluckily, nina was born with this gift. the strength had skipped a generation, and even grazed over her older brother, Tenzin.
that power, that amazing power, well it was the prime target of amegakure's tryant-like government. for years they had tried to manipulate Nina's family, trying to harness that power for their own biddings. it wasn't until recently however, had they taken measures up a notch. rumors of gruesome, grotesque expirementation happening in the great tower of amegakure started floating around. nina's family shrugged it off, letting their gaurd down complete with the firm belief such claims were superstition. and then they came in the dead of night.
confusion ran amuck in the manor that nina grew up in. ANBU black ops both surrounded and inflitrated the house, ravenously searching for something... and that something was nina. frightened and still relatively young, the docile age of 11, nina scrambled into hiding. she was subjected to the screams of agony as the rain-ninja mercilessly slaughtered. she counted them, one scream, two screams, and then she heard something odd; a foreign scream followed by a blur of cursing and orders. could it be? perhaps one of them made it out? was it is mother, father, Tenzin? whoever it was, she was happy they were still fighting back.
she sat back in her hiding spot until the rain-ninja erupted into her room, circling her and slowly approaching. one of the ninja said to the other, who seemed to be the leader that she was the one. one what? was she the reason all this was happening? they slaughtered her family because of her. anger, bitterness, and hatred boiled up within young Nina, and then something snapped.
her eyes glowed an intense blood red, the iris began to resemble a crystal pattern. unnatural chakra began to manifest around her. she clasped her hands, and a torrent of deadly crystal spikes maimed and impaled all who affronted her, finally ending with a finale of destructive power as the crystal grew bigger and bigger, making short work of the house and those surrounding it.
what had nina done? she had just committed murder, and the thing was she enjoyed it. it brang her a feeling of joy, of relief that the blood of her aggressors was drawed. no, it couldn't be, this wasn't nina, or was it? confused and scared, all nina could think to do was run.
So she ran, ran far and long. her body could only take her so far though, and after preforming such a feat, her chakra was near depleted. soon her body would hault, tired and hungry, exhausted physically and mentally. nina was stranded, lost, and hopeless. but it didn't matter. everything nina had was gone, she was content with dying here.
but someone wouldn't let that happen
a man, a sunagakure shinobi would stumble upon the sprawled body of nina, incapacitated, in an odd meeting of fates. feeling convicted, he took the girl home, giving her medical care and a place to live and sleep. to think that a stranger would go so far, and that a village, a shinobi village would be so welcoming, why it was a dream come true. it wasn't long after until nina became an official sunagakure citizen, intergrating into the population quite nicely. ascension up the trophareum was simple as nina was a naturally gifted young woman. life was simple, until that fateful meeting with the orange-haired sage.
That orange-haired sage was none other than Kekkai Masuyo. liberator of rain, and sage of the bears. nina and masuyo conversed for hours, and eventually nina helped him to make a temporary base of operations for their mutual family in sunagakure. eventually, masuyo and her had to part ways, but it wouldn't be long until they crossed paths.
Nina went on with living in sunagakure for quite some time, overseeing the sun and moon kekkai headquarters, then one day she got a message. it proclaimed a revolution, a rebirth of none other then amegakure, the wasteland that nina knew as none other than,
home.
