royal family,
The royal family currently leading Rice country is the Minakami, with the leader of the nation referred to as the Tennō (天皇). Ruling in the form of absolute monarchy, the royal family is a collective of prince, princesses, dukes, duchesses, and a number of relatives taking position as high ministers.

jounin rank,
The military of Rice country is mostly comprised of shinobi, with few units of samurai here and there in between. Jounin ranked personnel of Rice country are the equivalent of military generals, experienced and veteran in their field of work. A good portion of Jounin ranked personnel will also take part in council meetings between the royal family and the ministers, though not many. Jounin are expected to be capable of working alone, as well as fighting multiple enemies at once while surviving against the odds of battle.

chuunin rank,
An equivalent to a lieutenant, the Chuunin is responsible for taking charge when a Jounin is not present. Though they are not as veteran as a Jounin (usually) they are quite experienced. Many Chuunin are given charge of military squads (teams), with the Jounin leading all squads in his or her vicinity on the field of battle when required. Many Chuunin are also involved in political work for the royal family, as well as serving as envoys.

genin rank,
Graduates of the academy, the Genin are the foot soldiers of the battlefield. They vary in strength, with some being incredibly weak and others prized for their raw strength, but may not advance through rank due to their lack of strategy or political aptitude. Some Genin have even been known to be stronger than a Jounin. Regardless of strength, the Genin are assigned to military squads headed by Chuunin, and are trained primarily to perfect the essence of team work, and diligence in the face of mortal danger.

village civilians,
Being a shinobi isn't the only thing you can be. Civilian types are encouraged simply for casual roleplay and to enjoy themselves in a progressive world where things never stagnant, and village civilians make up much of the national economy by working at jobs outside of politics and military. Civilians however are capable of becoming Ministers for the Imperial Court, and though they may not do battle they are given a place to contribute to the growth of the country through invention and innovation of the country.
