Suzuka figured she’d put a big enough target on her back to lay low for a little while—or at least, to very blatantly show that she didn’t plan on pushing things too much. She had very recently finished another mission—and managed to piss off at least one person connected to ANBU in the process. No, for now, she’d just do something simple, chill out, let things run their course. Rather than taking one of the more “exciting” missions that she tended to enjoy, she opted for a C rank—something she hadn’t done in a while. It was just an extra patrolling detail around the village—experience told her she probably wouldn’t find anything—but who knew? Maybe some crazy asshole felt like attacking today. That would be exciting.
Though she was technically qualified to engage, she planned on playing it by the book this time and not doing so, partially out of spite. They said report back, she’d report back. She’d be obedient to a fault until she figured out exactly how to move up in Konoha. Besides, she would more than likely be working with a Genin, and she didn’t want to put anyone in danger. And here I am again… acting like it’s not a shot in hell that I’ll find anything suspicious anyway. Right.
Suzuka headed out toward the village gates, where she would be meeting her patrol partner. She decided to get there about fifteen minutes early, mainly because coming off of a patrol to realize your relief was late was pretty much the most annoying thing ever. She had all of her equipment on her, yet again, though this was mainly because she fully expected she might be sent right back out to take care of the threat if she did find something to report in… at which point she’d valiantly neutralize the threat, have her own private I-told-you-so moment with the administration, and keep it moving. Following directions… She’d been having issues with that, lately.
Mulling about idly, she started down at her outfit for the day. Black tights, short purple shorts, white top—standard fare for her lately. What was new was her giving a damn about her appearances—maybe that was a good sign, though. You got along with people better if you gave a damn about how you looked, she found. She returned her surroundings, looking more outward to receive the shinobi currently on patrol than looking for her own partner.
