I was in the company of wolves or perhaps the wolves were in my company. Like beasts we simply devoured and devoured until only one remained. Pools of crimson splattered, splashed and spilled on the ground seeping away from the maddening frenzy I was all but lost in. Exhilarated by the blood bathing my person, empowered as I tore flesh from bone and life from their being. With each slash and thrust of my sword, a cry followed and blood flowed.
It was ecstasy, the anger that gave me power, the lust that compelled me to delve deeper and deeper into the carnage. And deeper was the frenzy that sought to clear my mind or overwhelm me with bloodlust. The air was still and filled with a deep metallic smell: blood, it called me to the frenzy. But I was not lulled; I could not be lulled by this carnage.
It leaped forward, my katana unsheathed and slashed forward (as I stepped forward) cutting into the wolf’s right leg and upper body. With a thud it landed behind me, snarling in pain, as two more rushed me from both sides. Raised overhead, and swung down in a diagonally slash my katana striking the wolf’s head and slamming it down into the ground, dying. Biting down onto its tongue, convulsing as it desperately pawed the ground.
