"Slow and steady wins the race," she said. "This all just feels so... Right. It must be a one in a million sort of deal," she continued with a laugh. Though at their first meeting he had been nothing more than someone nice to look at, it took only a short amount of time for her to see that Ujiyasu had a lot to offer her. She almost felt bad for feeling the way she did about the others on the team, but she was somewhat glad that they had disappeared and stopped showing up. If she hadn't, she wouldn't have gotten the chance to spend so much one on one time with the leader of the team, and they probably wouldn't have been having dinner together at all. If they hadn't gone away, she never would have gotten to know him in the way that she had managed to, and for that, she wished she could thank her absentee teammates.
She couldn't help but blush and look down in an embarrassed way as he threw more compliments at her. Nobody had ever made her feel more special than Ujiyasu had managed to that night, and in such a short amount of time. "You really know how to make a girl smile," she remarked, her face still bowed down, covered in red. Her hands had since returned to rest on her lap, playing with the fabric of her clothing, the nervous fidget becoming more and more apparent to her as the night continued. She wanted to stay there forever, to never return home, but she knew that it wasn't a good idea no matter how badly she wished it was. It was only their first date, after all. She gave herself a little longer to stay with him, knowing that they would have much more time in the future to spend together.
Slowly, Kasumi stood up and took hold of Ujiyasu's hand, pulling him up with her. She liked the idea of going outside and looking upon the hills, and perhaps seeing the stars shine in the night sky. She began walking in the direction that she knew must be the back of the house, and found the door that opened up to the outside. Stepping over the threshold, she kept a tight hold on his hand, making sure he was still there with her. Her legs carried her forward several steps, but she stopped abruptly as a cold wind blew over them, chilling her to the bone. Her gentle white skin slowly turned a light shade of red as her skin became irritated by the gold, and instinctively she moved closer to Ujiyasu, pulling his arm over her shoulder.
She turned her head and looked at him for a moment before smiling and resting her head against him. She turned ever so slightly to be able to gaze upon the hills and take in their wonder, their beauty. It dawned on her that not once had she ever taken the time to really appreciate the natural wonder that Kusagakure had to offer. More often than not, it had been lost on her, but she felt that with Ujiyasu, her senses were more alert, her eyes were more open. "This has been perfect," she said, sighing with content. "I'm really glad we did this. We should do it again soon, but maybe next time I'll plan the date," she said with a grin. As she stood there with him, leaning against his body with her hand and arms against his chest, Kasumi felt as though time had stopped, and that she didn't want it to start up again anytime soon.
