HISTORY: The village that the Masanari clan had held from was known as Seigyokuhi (lit. Sapphire Fire), though for many years, it had been left within ruins in the deep southern part of Mizu no Kuni. All inhabitants of the clan had either been killed or simply abandoned the village, and it was all thanks to Yokumaru. He and his mother had taken refuge into his mother’s clan home village, and it is here where he honed most of his shinobi abilities and began his life as a Kiri-nin. After a few years of living a peaceful life, despite being on the run from Konohagakure (they didn’t know was still after then or not), Kirigakure had received word from their intelligence that the Masanari clan had planned on turning in him and his mother to Konoha.
At his young age, Yokumaru already had a lot of resentment toward the world, but he thought that the Masanari clan had been full of good people, who only wanted to help them and protect them. He didn’t bother to think twice if the information was false, already being a loyal Kiri-nin, and trusting that they wouldn’t stare him wrong. On the night he received the information was the night that he had attacked Seigyokuhi, not before making sure his mother wasn’t anywhere near the village that night. Yokumaru had been a high skilled shinobi, plus possessing the powers of Hachimontonku only made his onslaught that much more successful.
He didn’t completely wipe out the clan, but he did make sure he killed all of the elders and leaders, though some people were killed, unfortunately. The rest of the clan scattered across the shinobi world, in hopes of never returning to the village, for the night everything was taken away from them, was the night that in every Masanari’s heart, a strong hatred for Yokumaru had been born.
It would have probably seemed as if many hours had passed since the duo had departed from their last location, out somewhere near by Kirigakure. Though now, that was many miles and hours behind, and the two had ventured down into the most southern part of Mizu no Kuni. The daylight had long since passed, and the only thing that was lighting up their path tonight was the moon’s light, which was kind of special for the place that they had been going to. Eventually, the duo would come across a large stone like cave; ridged stones had protruded from the ground, as if it had some sort of path which would lead them into the ground.
The entrance of the cave had been large, about [10m x 15m], and over it had been several chains which covered nine different angles of directions, but all met in the center where a talisman had been placed with weird scriptures upon it. I was originally side by side with Sato, but for this, I left his side for a mere moment to make my way toward the talisman that had been placed upon the chains. One could tell that it was obviously some sort of fuuinjutsu protecting the place from entry, but how to get in was a mystery, but it wouldn’t be for long for Sato. I placed my hand upon it, and almost instantly, the scriptures upon the talisman began to burn away in bright orange colors, and the chains faded away into nothingness.
I looked back at Sato with a smirk, and gestured my hand for him to follow me down into the deep and dark cave. “We’re almost there, Sato. Despite how things may seem now, you would probably never have expected your new home to look like this.” I spoke calmly as I made my way down into the cave, but not before long, I could see brilliant blue flames in the distance, burning sapphire in color.
As we would continue our venture down into the cave, if Sato continued on with me, the land before us would start to become clear to our eyes. It ruined village we had entered had been massive; it was a massive underground village, being illuminated by sapphire fires all around, and several large holes within the ceiling, which allowed the moonlight to shine through as well. “So, what do you think of the place?” I said as my mind began to play back images of the night I went on my rampage, taking many lives of those from the Masanari clan and even some flashbacks of me killing my father again.
They hadn’t bothered me or taken me on a trip away from this world or something like that, it was just a reminder to me of the sins I had commented, which had been only a minor annoyance to me. I turned to face Sato to see what his reaction would be. The place had looked like any other village, except for the unique sapphire flames, and underground structures that had been all throughout the village, making it look majestic even in its ruined state.
