MUSHROOM HUNT 
RANK: D
DESCRIPTION: Due to Kusa no kuni being renown for its abundance of mushrooms, it's not a surprise that there are many different organizations around the village that deal with harvesting such products. In order to try and boost the amount of mushrooms that are being found each day in the forests of Kusa no Kuni, these groups have hired the help of shinobi to aid them. This means you'll need to go alongside other mushroom pickers, to find and gather mushrooms from around the country for use in medicine, poison and food around the village.
OBJECTIVE: Gather different kinds of mushrooms around kusa no kuni!
PAY: 100 EXP and 500 Ryo.

The day had been quite beautiful with the sun at it’s peak shinning down on the village of Kusagakure. I found myself walking down a long strip with my hands propped up on the back of my head, it had been quite some time since I was able to get out of the house so I was glad to stretch my body out a bit. ’I can’t believe Kata didn’t come out with me.’ I thought to my self as I took my time to the gates, it hadn’t been far off from where I was now and I had been a tad early according to my time. So in due time I found myself at the gates of the village, I would begin looking off to the left and right trying to locate the people I was supposed to be working with until I felt a tight grip on my shoulder.

 “Who da ---”

I thought to myself as I turned slowly looking up slightly, ’Woah.’ I thought as I got a glimpse at the mans face. My face quickly went from angry to a bit worried as I looked up to the man,  I would quickly spin slapping the mans hand from my shoulder while jumping back a bit. 

“Were you the one who was hiring people to pick mushrooms?” 

I asked with a quizzical look on my face, the mans evil mug would turn to a slight grin as he crossed his arms over his chest. 

“Yeah that’s me, you’re quite jumpy aren’t you? A little scared are we?”

The man said with a small laugh at the end, I began to get a bit flustered for a second but I quickly calmed myself down. I would place my hands into the pockets of my jacket as I relaxed my body a bit looking towards the man.

“Well of course not, I’m a Shinobi.. So when do start picking. Mushroom-man.”

The words fell from lips playfully as I smiled at the older man, my intentions were to get under his just a little but I wasn’t sure if  it was going to work. As the man barely reacted to my comment, he had actually elected to walk away from me instead. ‘Oh shit.’ I thought to my self as I started to follow the man a bit, I’d call out to him.

“So you’re going to leave me, Mushroom-man? I thought you needed my help!”

I would shout slightly trailing behind the man, 

“Maybe you should learn a little respect kid, the names Chief Mushroom.”

I would let a small bit of laughter it had seemed the man hadn’t been a serious as I thought, he was heading towards a small group of people not far from the gate entrance. ‘Oh those people must be who we’re working with.’ I thought for a moment as I strolled behind the casually with my hands in my jacket pockets. As he stopped I peaked around the much larger man at the small group before I jumped from behind, 

“I’m Rukei! I’ll be helping you guys pick these mushrooms! Are you ready!”

He would say before laughing a bit. The Chief placed his hand on Rukei’s head as he laughed a bit himself, by that time he had everyone attention. 

“Alright guys I hope you’re ready for some work.”

Shortly after I popped out from behind the Chief he began to give his speech  to everyone, he made sure to cover all the important details about picking mushrooms. I listened to some degree because I know I didn’t want to pick a poison mushroom, which meant I had to stay away from the purples ones. At the end of his speech he signaled everyone to follow down the path that was just ahead, I would of course stay beside the chief as I propped my hands back up on my head.  I couldn’t hope but to think of Kata, it had been a while since he had actually been healthy. I was starting to worry quite a bit about him, but luckily I knew mom would take care of so I could at least try to have fun today. As we continued down the road I looked up to the Chief,

“How long do you think we’ll be out here today Chief.”

I would while my head was slightly tilted back looking at the older gentlemen, Chief eyes would shift down towards me before he turned away for a second. He reached into his own bag looking for something, once he found it he pulled out another bag almost equal to the size of the one that he had. He would hand it to it to me while we walked up seemingly long path,

“Fill that up kid and You’ve done more than enough for me.”

The man would say as I took the bag from him, I would smile a bit before taking the handles of the bag and tying it to my pants.  We continued down the path until we had seemed to come to a large open field, the trees and such had been extravagant. It had been quite some time since I seen the outside of Kusagakure no sato, this was more than a treat for me. I was ready to go and it showed because I tried to take off into the field, but before I could even take two steps the Chief’s hand was on top o my head. 

“Hold up their Rukei, you gotta wait a minute… You guys will be working in groups today. You’ll be working with the two young lady’s over there. Make sure you help them as well, you’re not done until You all are done. You feel me?”

The man asked as he had my attention, I would nod my head as I ran over to the set of girls. It just so happened that the girls were twins, a smile that couldn’t be held back appeared on my face as I approached the two of them.

“What’s up? My name Is Rukei, nice to meet you.”

I would say holding my hand out attempting to shake hands with the girls, though both of them looked a bit shy. I would raise my eyebrow slightly as I looked at the them.

“So you don’t have names?”

I asked after for a moment, and finally one of the stepped up to tell me who they werer.

“Well her name is Hana and my name is Ana…..”

She said while she looked at the ground, I would tilt my head to the side slightly as I wondered about these girls.

“Well come on you two, you can’t be that shy. I’m not gonna bite your head off, unless you know you don’t do any work.”

I would say as I smiled a bit, both girls remained stationary with this dumbfounded look on their face. I would shake my head as I turned away from them for a second, I would kick the dirt around a bit before turning back to the girls. They would be able to see all of my teeth as I started smile, it had seemed like both of them got quite creped out by my smile but it hadn’t matter. I had man on plans shooting off between them grabbing both of their hands and pulling them along, of course I wasn’t running super fast but I was moving at a pace that would make it seem like I was dragging them alone. Both girls let a girly wimper as I pulled them away from the group, I wasn’t sure on the field where we were going but I figured I’d stop at the part of the field that seemed to be blooming with Mushrooms. And it didn’t take long for that to happen as we passed a only a couple of sections of the field before coming across a couple massive mushrooms surrounded by a ton of little ones. I would stop on dime as I looked at the mushrooms to make sure they weren’t the poisons ones. 

“RUKEI!”

I would hear my name being screamed in high pitch tones before I felt two hands slapping me across the ground, it was done with enough force to have me sliding across the ground on my face. Luckily the ground wasn’t extremely hard so it didn’t hard much, but it did cause me to get a bit flustered but not for long as I started to laugh. Picking myself up out o the dirt I would whip my clothes off before turning back to the girls, it had seemed both of them were red in the face. I couldn’t help but to laugh at them because they looked like two little fire hydrants, 

“Are you guys mad at?”

I’d say jokingly as I placed my hands on the back of my head and started to laugh a little, both little girls started to scream at the same time.

“NEVER DO THAT AGAIN, YOU KNOW WE COULD FELL ON THE GROUND AND MESSED UP OUR CLOTHES OR SOMETHING. THAT’S NOT NICE RUKEI.”

I would continue to smile as the girls blabbered on for a moment, once they were done I turn away from them for a moment. 

“Well I don’t really care if it was nice, but I’m glad you guys are bit more animated. You were so boring a couple minutes ago.”

Both girls would begin to smile a little as the I spoke, Though my eyes would have never saw it because I was focused on the mushrooms up ahead of me. I was deciphering which ones I could pick and which ones I couldn’t once that was done I turned back to the girls, and to my surprise both girls were smiling at me. My hands would slide into my pockets as I began to address them.

“OK now stay away from anything Purple, anything that has green fur, and uhh I forgot the last one.”

I stood their thinking for a moment as I tried to remember the last thing.

“I think he said any thing that’s jet black Rukei.”

One of the girls said softly under her breath, I’d snap my fingers before addressing the Hana.

“Good job Hana, now lets get to work!”

Shortly after Hana confirmed the last mushroom not to pick I was ready to dive in, I quickly turned away from the girls jetting of into the area that was filled with the large mushrooms. I would be at the base of one of the mushrooms while Hana and Ana took up another. My eyes would shifting from left to right quickly picking anything that wasn’t black or had fur on it, it had seemed to be a ton of them around these parts. Flicking them into the large napsack that Chief had giving me I was on my way, moving around the base of the huge mushroom with ease. 

“Oh snaps what’s that?”

I stopped for a second because I came across a jet black mushroom, my hand would gradually move to towards the back of my head as I squinted my eyes a little. I begin to t tilt my head to the side for a moment as I looked at it, the mushroom was ratchet looking. And the smell it was something that let you know that you weren’t suppose to pick it, I would creep around the jet black mushroom trying to keep as much space in between myself and it. As I past It I ran over to where Hana was picking mushrooms at, 

“Hey Hana, guess what.. I just saw a jet black mushroom. And it kinda smells like you.”

He’d say with a playful tone in his voice, she of course was a little flustered by my statement but she kept on picking her mushrooms. I’d laugh a little as I got a bit closer to her while picking up my fair share of mushrooms, Hana was to quite for me and Ana was too. I felt like it was my duty to show them how to loosen  up a bit, I’d look to hana once more as I picked up a couple more random mushrooms.

“Yeah so, umm, you’re almost done Hana?”

She looked at me with a evil look as she went back to picking her mushrooms, I couldn’t hope but to think that it was my joke from earlier. I’d smile at her while she mean mugged on me, my hands would continue to pluck mushrooms from the base of the much larger one. While Hana continued to pick hers, I would make my way into her area. I would start to pick every mushroom she looked like she was about to pick, and it didn’t take long before Hana lost her cool.

“Come on Rukei, stop it!”

She said while screaming at the top of her lungs.

“Then stop acting like a wooden board.”

I said to her as she stared at me for a moment, I would continue to pick the mushrooms while she stood there and processed my statement. 

“I’m almost done, what about you?”

I asked while she stood their so blankly, she quickly snapped back to reality while replacing her confused look with a smile. 

“Yeah I’m almost done Rukei, sorry for acting so stiff. I’m just nervous around boy’s. But maybe you should go check up on Ana.”

I’d smile at her as I stood up, I would look around until I found Ana. 

“Damn she’s got more done than us.”

“Ana!”

As I called the girl her attention snapped to me with her face quickly turning red, I would laugh a bit as I walked over towards her carrying my sack of mushrooms on my shoulder. Ana had seem to be frozen since I had said her name, I would begin to wave my free hand around all crazy trying to snap her out of her trans. It would work as she shock her head around a bit while returning to a slight smile on her face, I would close the distance between us to about a meter before tossing my bag on the ground.

“You just about done over here?”

I’d as her as a bit of my mushrooms began to fall out on the ground, Ana would drag her bag out in front of her before speaking.

“Well yeah, but it’s too heavy for me to carry it, would you mind carrying it for me Rukei.”

I would shake my head a bit as I rubbed my head for a second looking in the girls directions.

“Well sure why not, let’s hustle back to Chief I bet we’re the first to be done.”

I’d grab my bag throwing it over one shoulder, while walking over to grab Ana’s bag to toss it over my other shoulder. Ana would move towards her sister to help her with her bag since I was carrying hers and we made our way back over to the Chief. He was standing their waiting for everyone to return with their bags,  once he noticed us he waved us down. I would toss the bags out in front of him as we were close enough he could just grab them,  the man had a big smile as the two girls dropped the final bag in front of him. 

“Good Job kids, you were the first kids to make it back to me.”

Both girls began to jump for joy while I smiled a bit placing both of my hands behind my head, 

“Well is that enough for us to head home?”

I asked as the girls were jumping for joy in the background. The Chief began to look through the bags making sure their was nothing poisonous in the bag before looking back to me.

“Well you can go ahead, I still gotta wait on these slow pokes.”

“Word, Ana and Hana you gotta meet my little brother! Lets head back to the village so I can introduce you guys.”
