PRE - WAR CABIN
Untouched by the violence of man,
It stands as a woeful reminder,
To a life once lived.
Status: Private thread & locale.
Deep in the woods of Kaminari no Kuni, not far from a derivative of the river Nihilim, resides a lonesome wooden cabin. It is surrounded by thick forest and plentiful undergrowth, standing resolute against time within a grass clearing. The grass clearing remains naturally cropped, and spans a radius of forty meters in a full circle. The cabin itself, a five-room property, is located at the north-east edge of the circle. A narrow dirt path leads from the cabin and towards the opposite edge of the circle, only to disappear once it enters the territory of the forest. This property was built to be private.
At the epicenter of the grass clearing, there is a well. Though long unused, the pulley mechanism and wooden bucket situated there can still be used to gather natural mountain spring water from down below. At the western edge of the clearing, there is also a garden. Like the well, it has been unattended to for quite some time. It had once been effectively fenced off from critters and other creatures with mesh and wooden planks. But, since it was abandoned, the critters have long since gnawed through the fence and eaten the vegetables that had once been there. It is now nothing more than a small plot of ripe soil and overgrown foliage. If one were to give closer inspection, they would notice the few children's toys scattered about this garden area.
What makes this property particularly difficult to find is the fact that it is situated within a small hollow-- a small woodland valley surrounded by mountains and ridges. The fact that a derivative of the river Nihilim runs through it, as well, may also label it as a vale. The mountain range surrounding the property, and its woodland landscape, essentially makes this place a hidden paradise. The river that runs through it is narrow, and preceded by death-dealing rapids-- therefore, an approach on boat or by following the river Nihilim's bank is impossible, due to the extremes the topography is built within. The fact that the wooden cabin is so small, and the location in which it was built is so very secluded, makes it as (if not, leagues more) difficult to find than your average hidden ninja village.
The woodlands surrounding this naturally protected paradise thrive with deer, critters, and all manner of creature and flora. The river, too, provides anyone in the area with a steady influx of pink salmon. Though apparently situated in the middle of nowhere, it is clear to anyone who stays here long enough that the cabin wasn't built at a random whim. The territory surrounding it withholds secret-- naturally formed-- passageways. These are scarce, however, and at completely different points of the hidden region. They all lead to several clandestine exits that lead the person using them to the varying wilderness territories of Kaminari no Kuni-- and, in one instance, even a town! Needless to say, simply "stumbling" across the cabin-- and the hidden paradise in which it resides-- is nigh impossible.
