For many years the shinobi have been the largest military force of the lands. The samurai, although very powerful, are one of the smaller military forces. However, this wasn’t the case in the past. It was the Samurai who ruled the lands back then. They fought the battles that their lords sent them to fight, while the Shinobi were used for more covert operations. As time passed, the shinobi began to outnumber the samurai and eventually the samurai began to get slowly replaced. This was not only because shinobi were cheaper to equip but they also took considerably less time to train. As more and more samurai converted to the way of the shinobi and as more people were trained in the way of the shinobi, the way of the samurai was beginning to become a dying art. There were many samurai who tried to keep their ways alive, even if it meant by force. This was the first Shinobi-Samurai War. The samurai and shinobi clashed, the samurai prevailing with skill and the shinobi prevailing with numbers. This war was fought for many days, then weeks, then months, and then eventually for 3 years. Casualties were heavy on both sides and eventually they reached a stalemate. The samurai and shinobi were running low on many resources and-more importantly-soldiers. A treaty of peace was signed and a piece of land set aside for the Samurai so they can keep their way of life alive without getting in the way of the Shinobi. This area is now known as the Land of Iron. In the years following the war the Samurai nation has remained a neutral one, not once interfering in the many wars that the Shinobi had amongst themselves. The Shinobi worried less and less about the samurai, and even though they knew about their great military power, they didn’t regard them as a threat anymore. Unknown to the Shinobi, the Samurai have been building up their military strength in absolute secrecy; training many warriors for battle. The so-called neutrality that the Land of Iron has is merely a ruse to avoid suspicion. Even though many years have passed since the great Shinobi-Samurai war the story was still passed down from father to son, the honor they lost never being forgotten. Samurai plan to attack the Shinobi Nations in order to gain back what they once long ago lost and they plan on doing this while the nations are at their most vulnerable… During the long-awaited Chuunin Exams. Any shinobi who stand in their way will be eliminated.
Will the Samurai once again rule the nations?
