As usual, my journeys would take me far and wide, and more often than not, it would be rewarding in the end, at least on my part. It seems as if my traveling to Kusa no Kuni, and in turn, Kusagakure were destined to happen. If I had never traveled there, I wouldn’t have met Menboku Tsubomi, a captive who was of my clan who I thought I had gotten rid of. Though I didn’t kill every last one of them, I thought they would at least drop the Menboku surname, but then again it was a clan full of pride and honor. 

My other captive had been a higher ranking shinobi of Kusagakure and also within the villages ANBU. I had two valuable objects within my grasp, or potentially valuable. It was just a matter of time until I found out how much they were worth. I carried both of them within either arm, thanks to Jiongu, I was able to encase them within my black tendrils, ensnaring their arms, hand, legs, feet, and even their eyes and neck. I didn’t want them to escape or say anything until they were addressed. 

The youth these days were a bit reckless, so I had to make sure that I kept them in check and under control. Luckily for them, the black tendrils had kept them warm as we had ventured into Yuki no Kuni, the Land of Snow. After a bit of traveling, I had found a cave for us to utilize, and made my way into it. I would then release the two captives, though I used a few tendrils to keep their hands, arms, legs, and feet tied together. 

Now feet from holding them, as they would lie upon the cold ground, I would create a fire in the middle of the room in the cave for it. It was ten meters in diameter all around, and five meters behind me was a tunnel that lead to outside. 

“You kids can sure sleep for a long time. Unfortunately, it’s time to wake up.” 

My voice was strong, and so was the loud clapped that I made, which echoed loudly around the room. It was time for the kids to get up.

‘Where am I?’’ The feint noise off footsteps crunching into what sounded like snow was all I could hear. My vision had been sealed off, it gave me the feeling that my eyes had been taken from me. ‘No…No..’ My thoughts had start to take a depressing spiral as I couldn’t move any part of my body or even see what was going on around me. ‘What happen didn’t I?’ Thoughts of the battle that had transpired between the mysterious man that had knocked out Tsu and me was all I could remember. The most vivid thing I could date back to is a strange feeling in my eyes as I rushed at the man with a Rasengan, and from that point everything is a blank.

I wouldn’t bother squirming around because I could feel my body surrounded by what felt like tentacles, they were locking my body into place. But it wasn’t long from that point that the crunching noise had halted, now everything was silent…. All that could be heard was the sounds of echoing footsteps until that came to its end. ‘What now?’ I asked myself as I couldn’t hear anything. Within moments I felt myself being vomited out the pits of whatever was holding my captive, landing on my side I would bask in the glory of the light reflecting off of my eyes. ‘YES I STILL HAVE MY EYES.’ My excitement hadn’t been reflected in my face because the light had been quite harsh on my eyes.

As I heard the sound of a command voice over top of my self my eyes would find my way to a blurry figure. ‘What the?’ As the image cleared up it had appeared to be the man that I had been fighting, my eyes would widen as I would feel that same rush of Chakra fill my eyes as it did before I lost conciseness. My eyes would show evidence of my own heritage, I could feel the difference in my perception at this point. I looked onto the man’s figure as If I was trying to look through his vary soul/

“You….. Why have you taken me captaive?!”

I would almost be shouting though I tried to keep my tone as mellow as possible because I wasn’t exactly in any position to talk shit, I had found my hands and legs bound together by the same things that were carrying me…..

My dark eyes had sat down upon the boy who had awakened from his slumber; he hadn’t known where we were. Nor did he know how far I had taken him from his homeland, nor did the girl know. Naturally, I expected the both of them to have a lot of questions for me, but it seemed that the kunoichi—Tsubomi, had still been unconscious. Her body needed a lot more time to heal; unlike it did for the young male shinobi, whose name I still did not possess, at least not yet. 

“I have taken you captive because you are a shinobi, and shinobi are tools. In other words, there is something I need for you to do for me, ANBU-dog. But first, I acquire your name, if that isn’t too hard for you to give, at the moment.”

I said it with a wicked smile upon my face, my eyes moving over to glance at Tsubomi as she continued to sleep, and then back to the boy. 

“My name is Menboku Yokumaru—though I also go by several others name. But, feel free to call me whatever you like, though I would prefer the name ‘Hinomoto’.”

I watched him from a distance, my voice was still as powerful and as strong as ever.

“What’s with you and this ANBU-Dog shit, I’m not a dog.”

I would say as finished off his statement about whom he was, I couldn’t actually grasp the concept of the man’s usage of the word dog. Taken a slight look over to Tsu before turning back to him my chakra would be released from my eyes causing my Sharingan to disappear, my eyes would return to their original colors blue and Hazel. ‘I guess I have the Sharingan now.’ I was overjoyed about the awakening of the shinning symbol of my clan, but I didn’t actually have to celebrate it because I was being held captive by the man who had pushed me to my limits. My eyes would be pulled from the man as I exhaled loudly looking down to my bonded legs.

“My name is Sy Yume, but most people call me Kaze…”

[KEITH]

“I call you a dog because that is what you are, and that is what you are when you work for your village’s ANBU. You are nothing more than a mere lap-dog for your Kusakage—nothing more, nothing less.” 

I had said to the boy, in a retort to his question about why he was being called a dog. But, now since I have acquired his real name, I would be calling him by that from now on. I also noticed that he had finally deactivated his Sharingan, I wondered if he had been grateful of the gift I had bestowed upon him for his efforts in combating me. I moved closer toward him and the unconscious body of Tsubomi’s, squatting down before them.

“Well, Kaze-san, it is nice to meet you. You probably don’t know what you have gotten yourself in, coming to Tsubomi-chan’s rescue like a white knight and all. But, she is from my clan, and she wants to kill me—it’s understandable for why she would. I mean, I did slaughter many of the members within the Menboku clan, but I had my reasons. But, now she sleeps wonderfully, until she wakes up and sees me still alive.”

I had spoken with a large smirk upon my face, grinning big at the two.

As Hinomoto spoke the first time about why he referred to be me being a dog, through his definition of the statement I couldn’t hope but to feel as if he was right. Because throughout my entire ANBU career I had lived to serve lady Blanche, or to put my life on the line to make sure she could continue to live peacefully. These thoughts would fester within the back of my head as the man had raised from his seat moving closer towards Tsu and I, once had he had squatted down in front of he would address me by my name paying a bit of respect as well. I would listen to what he had to see as he explained to me why he was combating Tsu in the first place, he had spoken of a time he had annihilated his entire clan for reasons of his own. But he would also go on to address Tsu’s frustrations that would probably be vented once she had awaken.

“You killed the members of your own clan? I don’t understand how that would ever be beneficial to you, I could only see the harm that it would cause…. Don’t you miss your family Hinomoto-San?”

As spokes my words would be coming from a sincere place, I couldn’t imagine killing my mother or father. They had been the two people that had made me the person that I had been, I wasn’t that familiar with the Uchiha clan itself other than the things I read in books. But from the way people viewed they had been a clan full hatred… ‘I wonder..’

“The Menboku clan, are they in anyway related to the Uchiha clan would they?”

Despite the young Uchiha sounding as sincere as he did, his words wouldn’t reach me in any way, nor did it make me feel bad for what I did. In my own eyes, I did what was best for the survival of me and my late mother. The Uchiha wouldn’t know about the real truth about it unless I had told him, for Tsubomi’s own knowledge about the matter was the same as any other Menboku. All they knew was that I attacked them randomly one day.

“Well, to understand what I did, you must first understand the Menboku clan that Tsubomi and I hail from. The Menboku clan was commonly known as the clan of pride, and during the times of the warring states, the Menboku and the Uchiha clan were allies. Like many other clans, the Menboku clan did possess something that was considered a stigma to the clan—in fact, there used to be a group of them, known as Mazoku (tribe of the devil), but all was killed for one sole survivor of this special group within the clan. 

They were known to be influenced by the ‘mashin’ (evil spirit), which caused them to do evil deeds, no matter what it was, even if it meant causing harm to members of their own clan. The Menboku clan was not only a clan filled with pride, but a clan that was allied with the mashin to help make them stronger, and the mashin would give those selected few the power they needed to make the clan stronger. One of my ancestors possessed the mashin, and down the line of lineage, I soon possessed the mashin at a young age, which led me to killing my abusive Uchiha father in his sleep. 

It then lead me to attacking the Menboku clan many years later, when word reached Kirigakure, who then notified me that the Menboku clan had planned on turning me and my mother in to Konohagakure, where I killed my father and we fled from. With this knowledge, I was enraged, and the mashin’s great power was coursing through my veins, and I slaughtered everyone my eyes laid sight on. I wouldn’t allow anyone to bring harm to my mother—but in the last seven years, she passed away due to her old age. 

I would have preferred her to go out that way, then being a captured criminal because of my own actions.”

The smile went away from my face, as I looked at both of my hands that I held out before me, feeling the mashin within my very being, influencing my mental state along with Jiongu. It was like I was a slave to the mashin, but I didn’t mind it—with it on my side, I have achieved so many great things, and I will continue to achieve more.

As the story had begun Yoku would have my full attention, because for a man to slaughter his entire clan he had to have some type of reasoning for it.. Unless he was just crazy, so as he proceed into his story he would touch on the relationship that his own clan an the Uchiha had. It was expected that my clan would of course be allied with people filled with hatred in their hearts, my mom and pop had done all in their power to keep me from developing into a spiteful person. And as far as I could see they had did a pretty good job, but at the same time I could be very spiteful indeed. But I wouldn’t have much time to cultivate my own thoughts as I was wrapped up in Yoku story; he actually answered my question about his family in a sense. He massacred his clan for the protection of his own mother; I would’ve done the same thing for my parents. They were the center piece of my entire life; I couldn’t imagine someone trying to take them away from me.

“So you killed them for your mothers sake…. I can respect that.. If I was put in the same situation I would act in the same manner.”

As the words slipped from mouth I felt a bit of a dark side spawning within myself, I had always been one to say I’d never kill one from my own clan. But when it came to the ones that I loved most I’d do anything to protect them from harm, but I’d shake my head a little as I looked over to the lifeless Tsu. She looked so calm while she was sleeping; I hadn’t ever thought she had gone through as much hardship as Yoku spoke of. The way that he spoke he was truly the root of all of her problems, but in the same sense she probably didn’t understand his reasoning for his actions he took at such a young age.

“So Hinomoto, why didn’t you just kill Tsu and I? I understand that you wanted to gather more information about my village, but I know there is plenty ways to pick someone’s brain without awakening them from their slumber. You could’ve just killed me after you got what you want, or even killed me when I passed out during our battle?”

My words be spoken with a sense of curiosity, I couldn’t hope but to wonder he seen within myself that could have helped him in anyway. Because I could see why he would take a remaining member of his own clan, but myself all I did was try to confront him and stop him from taking away my Tsu.

So, with the young Uchiha, I had shared with him the reason behind why Tsubomi hated me so much, and it had brought him to an understanding. Hopefully understanding both of our dispositions, but I did not wish to harm Tsubomi anymore, at least not right now. My real reason for capturing her was to see if she had also possessed the mashin that I did.

My eyes adverted from my hands, back to Kaze as he questioned me why I spared him when I could have just so easily killed him. 

At first, I did not know he was of the Uchiha lineage, so there was no reason to spare his life, but I did have a few other reasons for why I kept him. I honestly haven’t killed anyone in the last seven years, everyone I have met; I formed some sort of bond with them. They were all to be used by me in some specific point in time when I needed them, but for now they were just to be “allies.” With a large wicked smirk, I prepared to answer the question of the Uchiha boy.

“Well, as I have already told you, there is something I need you to do for me. Whether you want to do it or not isn’t really your choice, it’s something that you will do. But, what that is exactly doesn’t need to be said. I simply wish for you to consider me an ally of yours for the time being; I do not need any further information about Kusagakure.”

I rose back up to me feet, and with a single handseal, the tendril that once held Kaze and Tsubomi would loosen and fall off. With a quick follow-up seal, the tendril would make their way back toward me, moving into my cloak and becoming one with me. Only about a meter or two away from the Uchiha, I wondered what he would do—would he decide to go along with what I said, or would he rebel? Surely, he did know that if he decided to choose otherwise, then I would just force him to do what I wanted him to.

As that same malicious smirk appeared upon Yoku’s face I’d get a bit worried, but as he spoke my head would snap back just a bit. ‘He doesn’t want anything other than for us to be allied?’ I thought to myself as my eyebrow curiously, as he rose back to his feet he would tower over Tsu and I forming one seal. As he did so he allowed those little black things that were tied around my legs arms would drop from my figure as well as Tsu’s. I’d pull my arms from behind my back stretching out a bit; it couldn’t have been more convenient. ‘So ally’s.’ I thought to myself as I began to get up off of the ground, as I stood to my feet the distinct size difference was apparent. I hadn’t met many people that were as tall as me let along taller but Hinomoto san had managed to stand a few inches over me. I’d take a step back before looking down to my own clothing; I’d began to dust myself off before giving Hinomoto my attention.

“allies? That’s all you want from me?”

I’d say slowly in a concerned tone.

“Well honestly couldn’t reject your offer because you allowed me to live, and you also gave me a gift that no one around me could’ve actually giving me Hinomoto-san.”

I’d say before looking down to Tsu’s body, I had started to wonder just how hurt she was from her battle with him. I didn’t manage to catch nothing more than the end of the fight where Tsu’s body was laid out on the ground, she probably didn’t even know that I had come to her aid as I did. ‘Tsu, you’ll be ok once I can take you back home.’

“But in return I must request two things from you……”

I’d say as I turned my eyes back Yoku.

“I want you to push me as you did when we fought in Kusa no Kuni, I have never met someone who could actually dismantle me with such ease…. I want to try again, I want to try to push myself to my limits to compete with you… But this time, don’t use your cloak…… Lastly, and this might seem a little odd…”

I’d say as I would look towards the exit of the cave before looking back to him.

“Would you be my brother… I know it’s an odd request but the bond that had been created once you awakened my sharingan is one that’ll never be forgotten, and people such as yourself are the type of people I want to surround myself with.”

[KEITH]

“Two things?”

I would say after the Uchiha said that he wanted two things from me, before he would be considered an ally of mine. It was quite humorous, because I really didn’t need to be his ally, and therefore, I didn’t have to do anything he wanted of me. But, I had decided to humor what he had to say. He didn’t know how wicked and evil the mashin made me, or really just what kind of person I was on the inside, but he would surely find out soon.

The first of his two suggestions were that he wanted me to train him, basically, and condition his body to the point where he could fully awaken his mature Sharingan. Aiming for the third tomoe, since I had already pushed him to awaken the first one. That played into his second one as well. He wanted to create a bond with me like the one I had established with Akira—the Mizukage, and my sworn brother.

I didn’t really know how I felt about that, I already felt sort of looked down upon by the Kushinada brethren, and that put me at odds with Akira. Especially when I haven’t seen him in so many years, I could only wonder how he currently felt about me. But, no worries, I was to return to Kirigakure soon. For now I had more pressing matters to attend to.

“Hm. . . You’ve got yourself a deal, Kaze-san. I will abide by these two things for your help with my future plans, and our current partnership.”

My grin had never faded or faltered, I stepped toward Kaze, extending my right hand out to him, gesturing for a handshake. With it, the deal would be official between the two of us. I wondered how Tsubomi would feel about this if she saw us working together, it gave me a ticklish feeling on the inside.

As Yoku extended his hand out to me a smile would appear upon my face, as I stuck my own hand out to shake his I felt as if it was the start to another chapter in my life. A man that I had thought to be nothing more than the common criminal that went around attacking people for no reason, had turned out to be a man that I would call ‘brother.’ Though in the back of my mind I thought of Blanche and how she would feel about my alliance with the man, but then again I didn’t have to tell her everything that I did… She wasn’t my mother. I thought to myself as a bit of anger boiled on my insides thinking back to Yoku’s words about being a part of the ANBU, although it seemed like a glorious title it was nothing more than me giving my life to my kage to control. As our hands parted I would turn towards the snowy field that had been at the exit of the cave we stood in, I’d look down upon Tsu’s body one last time before turning to Yoku.

“Shall we get to work Hinomoto-san?”

I’d ask with a childish grin upon my face, I couldn’t hope to feel optimistic about the coming battle. I knew for a fact this would be everything I needed to ascended, I would return back to my home a new man.. A man that possesses the power of a god, I’d stuff my hands into my pockets before moving towards the exit. I would move towards the exit of the cave, the snow had been quite rampant on the outside. But it was enough to actually damping my own ability’s because I was always within my element if I could breathe. So as I made my exit from the cave into the snowy terrain my chakra would boil up rushing towards my eyes, they soon would be coated with a crimson tent sporting two tomoe within in them.

Once their hands had shook, I nodded to the Uchiha's question and followed him out of the cave.
