‘Kaminari no kuni’ I thought to myself as our expedition from Yuki no Kuni was rounded off to be a long, it had been a couple weeks since I had been back to my village. I wonder what all was going on within the village, I wonder how Kain was doing or if he had made it back safely because of my speedy exit from the events that were transpiring in Yuki. I’d rid my mind of the thoughts as myself and Yoku trekked on down a rocky road, the road had been barring of life as it was never a lot of people out on the country of the Lightning Country. It was a dangerous place to travel by your lonesome if you weren’t accompanied by a Shinobi, because the wild laugh that wandering these lands were very hostile.

“Hinomoto-San we’re in Kaminari no Kuni, isn’t this a beautiful place?”

I’d say sarcastically as while we walked, it was kind of relief that I hadn’t had to return to Kusagakure just yet. I had grown quite accustom to being around my brother, and I knew that he wouldn’t be allowed back to the village after his last arrival… But if it was left up to me he would be able roam the village as he pleased, ‘One day.’ I thought to myself as I had aspirations of running the village myself, though I didn’t think that day would come soon because Blanche was still alive and running shit.

“Hinomoto-san, I think it’s about that time. We’re approaching one of these open canyons within this country…. You ready for one more training secession?”

I’d say as we approached one of the vast open canyons within the country, of course this field was scared with signs of people using it for training. It had seemed like the perfect place to get a good workout in.

Since the events within Yuki no Kuni had transpired, I eventually met back up with Kaze, and together we had transversed the world, traveling to Kami no Kuni. It was here in this country, that I had been to twice before, that I would open a new chapter to my life along with my sworn brother. I had already know what type of wild life and what kind of people one were to meet when traveling along this land, and I even made certain connecting with certain people who ever from this land. One of them had been the former famous shinobi of Kumogakure—Uchiha Faust, but it had been a while since I had last saw him.

As we went on, my brother begun to spark up a conversation, though I could tell he was being sarcastic when he brought up the beauty of the country. In actuality, it had been a nice looking country, but it was a weak one, which held a weak village in high honor that I didn’t like. But, I wasn’t here to waste my time thinking about weaklings, I was on a journey to strengthen myself and further my ambitions. Kaze had spoken to me about training by the canyons as we had approached him.

I didn’t particularly feel like fighting at the moment, but to keep Kaze upon my side, I had to stick the deal that we had made. My chocolate eyes moved over toward him, locking onto his own eyes, smirking a bit before I had given him my reply to his question.

“If you think you are ready, little brother.”

I had spoken in my deep and powerful voice, readying myself mentally for battle with him.

‘Perfect’ I thought as my brother seemingly taunted me a bit after my request for another spar, it had been awhile since we got a good one in. I figured this vast canyon was the perfect place because we could unleash our full powers without worry about altering the landscape too much. I would move away from him putting about 15 meters between him and I, I’d shake my body out a bit before cracking my neck.

“You know I’m ready brother!”

As my words fell from my mouth my Chkara would boil up within me before rushing towards my eyes causing a crimson tent to appear. ‘So clear.’ I thought to myself as I looked over his figure I could see the chakra within his body, it was something that I was adjusting to with the awakening of my second tomoe. A strong breeze would blow through the canyon causing my hair to flutter around a bit, it was as if the area was preparing itself for a clash between titans.

“Ready! Try not to hold back too much bro!”

Sharingan II

“Hold back? Of course not.”

I said with a wicked smirk. It was time to begin the sparring session, and Kaze had already created a small distance between the both of us, readied himself and his Sharingan for this bout. I couldn’t wait to see what he had when it really came to it; hopefully there was something more to him than his eyes. Because in this match up, just using them for foresight would be utterly useless due to my lack of muscles, and the Sharingan looking for the smallest of muscle movements to predict moves.

I suppose that I would be the one to make the first move, and luckily for me, I could make two moves together. Using the four-tailed apes’ chakra to store up Yōton chakra for one technique, I would also be able to use my own chakra to store up Katon chakra for another. Unfortunately, if Kaze’s eyes were trained enough, he could see two chakras building up within me, and he would be able to see that they were two massive pools of chakra ready to erupt. With a swift gait, I dashed forward in a linear fashion, stringing through a set of seals¹.

The seals had only taking a single second, and by that time I would have already closed the distance between the two of to less than ten meters. My right hand quickly came to my mouth, creating a ring shape before my lips with my thumb and index finger. From my gullet, I released a large stream of lava, which eventually solidified into four large balls of magma (5m x 5m), flying toward Kaze with impressive speeds. Due to my master in Katon, I didn’t need to form seals for the follow-up technique² I had in store.

As the words slipped from Yoku-sans mouth and that wicked smile of his appeared upon his face I knew that the battle had started, quickly taken off to my right my hands would take on a life of their own moving through zodiac signs as my eyes watched over his figure. As he took off running towards me I found it very hard to use my foresight to read his moves, but at this point it wasn’t actually needed. His movements were no faster than the average Shinobi as he attempted to cut down the space between us while molding his own chakra. ‘Shit Yuuton, and Katon he’s not bullshitting.’ I thought to myself as I continued to move off to my right, his seals were short lived before he began to manifest 5 balls Lava. Luckily I had already planned on him starting off with such potent techniques I knew standing still wouldn’t play into my favor at all.

So as I repositioned myself around his left flank I’d quickly head for the ground to submerge myself in my element. ‘Shit.’ I’d thought to myself as I’d probably narrowly avoided my brothers attacks, I knew that he had no problem tracking me while I moved underground but it didn’t matter because I had to get out of the line. Of fire, I’d continue to reposition myself while moving underground while keeping an eye on his movements. I couldn’t predict his movements but I could try to compensate for my lack of firepower with tactics.

Dochuu Eigyo (Underground Fish Projection)

Dochuu Eigyo is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Earth Element. After performing a set of handseals, the user conceals themself beneath the earth, much like in Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu. However, now they are capable of moving through the earth like a fish moves through water, allowing them to stage surprise attacks or escape from a potentially deadly onslaught.

Note: To learn this technique the user must know Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu. Concealment is near-instantaneous. The user cannot perform seals beneath the ground and thus cannot use jutsu, but can wield weapons. To remain underground without suffocating, the user will need to continually expend chakra.

After closing the distance, and unleashing several large balls of molten rock, I would use them to follow after Kaze as he would try to circle around me to my backside. Luckily for him, I wasn’t really trying to hit him, but just scare him into doing something foolish. And it seemed like my own tactics had been successful, and my brother played right into my hand, trapping himself underground. Surely he could have seen the Katon chakra swelling up within me before he had even went underground, but oh well.

As soon as he would have been fully submerged, and I had just been above five or so meters from where he entered, with chakra within my soles, I kicked up off of the ground and into the air. I didn’t need to jump insanely high or anything like that, just high even for my technique to be pulled off properly. Quickly, I launched three dragon-headed fireballs² into the earth below me, and thanks to my brother being in battle-mode, he had given off the negative feelings that came along with conflict, and I was able to easily sense him.

Under the earth, he could hardly move, wouldn’t even perform a jutsu to protect himself, he would simply have to leap out of the earth and back into my frying pan on top. I had only sent two of the three fireballs into the earth, and I was saving the forth one for him, each being about 1x1m in size. I landed back onto the earth after the balls went searching for him, ready for him to rear his head so that it could be cleaned off of his shoulders.

“Come on, little brother. Show me what you got!”

I exclaimed with great excitement, I was in battle-mode now.

Now of course I wasn’t silly enough to dive into the ground without some type of tactical move on my mind. I would be sure to dive deep underground as I knew that my brother had been quite capable with his own elements. So as instead of moving further away from him I figured I’d make it harder from him to actually target me even if he had been able to sense my presence, I would move in a straight line passing under where he had last been standing. I would move closer to the surface living a small piece of paper just under that spot, while I continued onward. I couldn’t be sure that my plan would work but everything was worth a try while I was fighting him, or own power levels had been on two totally different spots. So I couldn’t be as rash as I was when fighting ‘regular people.’ I would continue to move within the depths of the ground moving further away from his location, I would be sure to calm my mind as I had no ill will towards my brother. It was no point of fighting with attitude because the only placed that landed you was on your back.

“tch”

‘I can’t stay underground forever, I ain’t a bitch.’ I thought to myself as I continued to put the space between myself and Yoku, at the rate I was moving I had to be at least 10 meters away from his position. I would pull a Kunai from my bag wrapping it, shortly after I would erupt from the ground hurling the Kunai in his last known position. If my planning had been proper I would’ve been about 10 meters away from him, I was quick on my feet when it came to thinking of a slight strategy with my hands coming together.

Quickly, I launched three dragon-headed fireballs² into the earth below me,

My younger brother had continued to move through the earth below the surface, and due to the two of the three fireballs I fired destroying the earth beneath me where I originally stood, I would have to relocate (meaning the paper placing didn’t happen since that spot was destroyed). I landed upon the ground, five meters away from where I had originally been, and to the right side of my brother once he rose from the earth. When he did, he had launched a kunai to where I had originally stood, I used this time to now coordinate my fireballs he had seemingly forgotten about (though he wouldn’t have known of the one I didn’t send underground). 

Beneath Kaze, the two fireballs would have collided creating an explosion which would cause the earth to move and shake beneath him, temporarily throwing off his balance and attention. While from behind him as he attempted to make seals, my fireball was closing in fast on him, using the explosion to muffle its sound. I watched from the distance to see what he would do as I form a series of seals³.

Even with all my tactics I still hadn’t been ready to deal with my brother’s tactical prowess, it was obvious that he knew me as well as I knew him. As I erupted from the ground hurling the Kunai towards him with great accuracy I would catch wimps of the chakra swimming below the ground, I knew this couldn’t be anything good for my health as the quickly made their way under me. ‘Shit.’ As the two chakra signatures collided beneath me I could feel the ground vibrating a bit, in the same instance I could slightly hear the sound of something hurling through the air. ‘Shit.’

It was too late to react too such a well-planned assault, I felt the dragon colliding with my armor quickly melting the metal severely burning my back. I could almost feel my flesh pealing from my back as I flew forward from the concussive force about 5 meters, ‘Damn.’ I thought to myself as I slid across the ground, the battle had just started and I was already lying on my face. ‘Is our power difference really this great?’ I asked myself as my skin sizzled under the influence of my brother’s technique. ‘I can’t keep losing like this, these eyes of mind aren’t even helping me…. It has to be something I’m doing wrong.’ My mind would go into a infinite loop of my own failures playing back in my head before I could feel before my eyes shot open. ‘I won’t give up.’

As the words echoed through my head repeatedly I placed my hands under me pushing myself up off the ground, ‘This isn’t my best.’ I thought to myself as I peered over to my brother hosting that same devious smile upon his face, I could see that he enjoyed testing my capacity and I couldn’t be mad at him because I asked for this. So as I stood to my feet with my blood seemingly leaking from the burns, I would unlatch my armor from my person while keeping an eye on my brother.

“I won’t give up!”

I screamed as my hands would quickly form a single seal, as I did so a carbon copy of myself would appear beside me. I knew I couldn’t just flat out give up after one hit, my clone and I would jet off in different directions as we flew through hand seals. I could only hope my brother wouldn’t strike me down while I was trying to get up.
