{Mission}Clearing out the Sewers !

Description: Many gangs have criminal meetings under the sewers of the village. You will assist one Jounin in helping clear out the tunnels of such criminal scum. These lost souls plot actions not only against their fellow man but against the Church whose very existence is a gift by the Great Shepherd to a lost race of people. You will infiltrate the sewers and scout out at least three potential meeting points for criminal elements and report to a Jounin. The Jounin will then be tasked with clearing out the sewers completely.
Restrictions: None/May be completed multiple times
Rewards: 50 EXP and 1000 Ryo.

Fubuki scrunched her nose as she sloughed through a tunnel of putrid waste. This is what the Mizukage thought was important? Tracking down a few drug dealers and criminals into a shit-infested sewer system, while the demented, out-of-their-fucking-minds Leaf Ninja were declaring war on us? Perfect. A sudden dip in the tunnel forced the young kunoichi to suddenly step deeper, splashing her thighs with a wave of filthy water. "Excellent."

Glancing over her shoulder, she eyed her two teammates. "So now, at least if Konoha does blow the village to nothingness, we'll all be down here and die in a river of piss, crap, and who knows what else. All for some drug dealers. The best, most glorious and honorable kind of death."

She hadn't really discussed the sore topic with others since news flooded their island-nation. What was the point? "We're coming up on a split," she said, pointing ahead. "Left or right?"

[Yami]

While her companions winced at the stagnant smell of the village's liquid wastes, Yami remained unphased. This is a waste of time...heh, waste. She came prepared for the vile nature of the mission, opting for her boots rather sandals and today's cloak was worn down, a dull lavender rather than the usual purple. As the depth increased, Yami couldn't help but find entertainment in the obvious disgust in Fubuki's face, allowing the creepiest of grins to creep across her face and disappear as quickly as it came. "It does smell dreadful." she'd reply to Fubuki's snarky remark. Veni, their Kuro-Shiro partner, made her uncomfortable still. He was much older than the two girls and he had this weird tendency to gaze towards Yami's feet. He was decent company but the plant-like anatomy and unusual habit put her on edge.

"I'd rather die to drug dealers for the village than some lousy Konoha-nin for that cult. They're nothing but a nuisance." It wasn't that Yami hated the cult, they just meant nothing to her. The village that had once been a fearsome name in the mouth of its enemies, or at least from what her father made it seem like they did, was now the home to God-fearing men and women. Who was this "God", who had been ever so absent in their lives, to be feared? It was all a sham and the Mizukage was nothing but a pawn in her eyes.

"I say right. Veni, left or right?"

Dredging through a flow of shit, garbage, waste, and whatever else was in this water, was not what Veni envisioned himself doing. He turned his head and tried to glance at the other's expression as they walked in a straight horizontal line (more or less), he found it kind of funny how evident it was they werent enjoying the sight, feel or smell. Veni's always spent a lot of time in nature, not with cherry blossoms and lovely smelling aromas. Melding with foilage and the moist, rotting forestry in Kirigakure was not a foreign concept to Veni so he was desensitized, the smell he could tell wasn't nice but it didn't really disgust him as much as the others. Veni had purposely worn a dark brown gi, camouflage baggy training bottoms and a well fitting black t-shirt.

As they approached the split and drew to a halt, the youthful female genin, Yami, asked for Veni's opinion on right or left. Veni went cross eyed (aka Black and White Veni looking at each other) as he exclaimed "BUGSY KEEPING THE CLOTHES". White Veni had just fucked over Black Veni. "Me and my other half will split, he'll take the puppet and he can tell us if he finds anything." Veni competently formed a few basic handseals and then the two other shinobi would most likely witness for the first time, a Kuro-Shiro splitting. Violently Veni's head would split down the middle, seperating, white and black material stretching out in a grotesque manner. Whilst splitting, the Black Veni began to force himself out of the shirt via the neck hole, it already being stretched from previous Kuro-Shiro splittings so it was just a bit of a tight fit. As the Black Veni finally emerged, he snatched the puppet off of White Veni's back and stuck his bottom lip up. "I'll go right, I'll tell White if I see anything." Black Veni began to venture off right as a malformed leg, arm and left side of his body began to form, causing him to hobble initially. As White Veni's clothes began to fill out with his own disfigured limbs he smiled. "Guess we'll be going left". He gestured for Fubuki to lead the way.

Karada Bunkatsu no Jutsu (Body-Splitting Technique)

Karada Bunkatsu is a keystone technique of the Kuro-Shiro bloodline. The user focuses chakra throughout their body. Slowly, the black half and the white half split down the middle and pull apart from one another. Each half regrows a leg, arm, and missing body mass out of white substance. However, this regrown area appears slightly disfigured and is incapable of creating finer details like eyes and ears. Black and White each keep a half of the venus flytrap growth on their body. These two halves act independently from one another, and to fit with the yin-yang symbolism of their clan each has a different aspect of the whole's personality.
While separated, these two halves can telepathically communicate with each other so long as they are on natural earth.
Note: The split takes one entire post to complete. Likewise, this technique divides the user’s chakra equally. The two resulting halves are able to use any jutsu that the user knows, independently of each other.

It was always a... strange sight seeing someone split in two.

Having been raised in the House of Kushinada, and after accompanying her parents to many skirmishes with local clans and neighboring mercenaries and bandits, violence was not surprising to the young girl. The smell of blood was as common as the smell of flowers, and the dying screams and grunts of the vanquished were, in many cases, beautiful music. But seeing a body separated into pieces? Well, it never ceased to amaze her (on some level) even when no bodily fluids or entrails followed.

"They could win," she said absentmindedly. "I've seen strange things happen."

It comes down to quality, she remembered he father saying. Simply having a larger force didn't necessarily mean a victory was sealed. History was riddled with accounts of a technically "inferior" force triumphing over tyrannical and oppressive legions. "If the Mizukage and her cultists can make the invaders suffer heavy enough casualties, then they could claim victory. They do have the home field advantage and, in spite of Konoha's force, their quality of shinobi isn't... the greatest."

Fubuki continued forward, down the left tunnel, as the others followed. "Either way, it doesn't matter. Once we've gotten stronger, and we get our swords, it will be a new era for the Hidden Mist. The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist will make sure of that."

[Yami]

The sound of Veni splitting was horrifying, causing the kunoichi to cringe in disgust. It was always an uncomfortb "This is true; but a great leader should know when to concede. This isn't the war we should fight. People never agree on politics or religion, mixing the two was far from bright in the first place; but our shinobi are deceptively strong. Maybe they'll pull an upset. " she'd note dryly. Although the war was not one she supported, stranger things have happened. The mightiest of goliaths had fallen to mere boys and although Konoha seemed somewhat menacing, it would be foolish to count them out entirely.

As they continued to trudge through the waste, Fubuki would acknowledge their dream, albeit a pipe dream, but a dream nonetheless. "True. That's if we can even find them and four more swordsmen." The left tunnel had proven to be much longer than expected. Although the act was incredibly repulsive, Veni had done them a solid by splitting. This could've taken a number of hours with the three of them in a squad but having a fourth man proved to be a valuable asset.

"Hey, Veni? Or do I call you White Veni? Whatever I call you, has the other half come up with anything?"

OOC: Yo, sorry for the slow response boys. Had some weird stuff come up in the last few days and I haven't been able to make a post until now. Should be clear to post without problems from here on out.

As far as missions went, there was very little that could stir the young kunoichi out of her comfort zone. At this point she had grown more than accustomed to the otherwise mundane tasks that the Mizukage could drum up for her to accomplish, and had moved to a point where she found no pleasure or joy in doing anything that the missions entailed. She had been assigned the unfortunate task of rummaging through the sewer systems to clear out any criminal activity that lingered about, and of course, instead of doing her due diligence and going ahead with the objective at hand, she found herself wandering the village.

For the most part her absentminded voyage lasted all but a handful of minutes before she found herself trekking towards the location of the underground sewers. It didn't take long for her to locate her fellow Genin, all of whom had already gone about taking the initiative in completing the task. Unfortunately she made it just it time to watch Veni split himself in half, a sight that was grotesque and creepy all in the same breath. Suffice to say, it was enough to silence any introduction she might have used to announce her presence.

Instead, she simply appeared behind all of them. "Not with imbeciles we have running the village." A hand lightly rose to tap Hanafubuki's shoulder as she made herself known to the group. She figured her old friend would be aware enough to recognize her silent appearance, but the last thing she wanted was to get a reaction punch to the gut from a girl known for breaking bones. "Besides, it looks like we'll have to be the ones to step up and protect the front from here on out."

Trailing about half a meter behind the two females, Veni was guarding the flank in case they get assaulted from behind, they had naturally formed a triangle. Two people in front who'd be capable of taking an enemy head on and a body on the rear for support. A classic formation and tactic that would've been spewed at all three students during their time at the academy. Veni's head flicked between the two as they talked. He wasn't much for talking when it wasn't his turn to speak. Personally he thought if the village was prepared they could take on Konoha, but without a Kage, not much could be done. There was a plethora of options but the one that kept the most people alive would just be letting Konoha ride right in.


The splashing of footsteps behind Veni was a set he had already examined, just another Kirigakure shinobi. Probably the other Genin who was meant to be on the mission. So when she interjected he wasn't surprised. He motioned for her to slot herself in front of Veni but behind the other two. This way she could distribute her self to the front or back, depending on which one needed a body. "Call me Veni, call my other half Vici. He's seen a few stragglers in the sewers but they're so drunk or high they're practically children." Vici was infuriated by the absence of anyone and the fact he was stuck all on his own, with only the creepy marionette Gorosei to keep him company, which he hadn't even strung up, just kept over his shoulder.

For a moment, just one second, the sewer’s foul stench was lined with a finer scent; something sweet and soft, a familiar fragrance that brought a wave of nostalgia along with. Hana paused well before the kunoichi spoke and placed a hand upon her shoulder, knowing full and well who it was that accompanied them now. “Good to see you,” she replied with a sideways glance. “And that depends on whether or not there’s even a front to protect by the time the Leaf are finished here. Regardless, we won’t forget.” The young Kushinada’s voice took on a severe, foreboding edge. “We’ll make sure the Leaf regrets embarrassing the Bloody Mist like this.”

After all, vengeance was a dish best served cold.

The sewer passage widened up ahead, emptying the genin into a larger pit. Like a waterfall, the sewage fell into the chasm lining the edge room—a short drop, maybe five or seven feet—an separating the large platform in the center. There were handfuls of boxes, stacked low for seating, and even a few makeshift tables formed from other pieces of broken wood. Hana jumped from the tunnel’s mouth and landed soundlessly on the stone platform, eying the contents before her. “A likely meeting point,” she murmured. “Nobody here, though. This must be one of the older ones.”

They can’t be too far, she mused. Even if they want to keep these places hidden, it needs to be easily accessible to newer members.

“Cae,” she called and waved her beloved over. “You know the drill. Scout up ahead. Try to find one that’s got a little gathering so we can give the Jounin some real information. Or, handle it--"

BOOM.

The earth shook; the ceiling of the sewers rattled and quaked. Hana narrowed her eyes as she glanced up, catching a whiff of smoke on the wind. "They're here."

Without further word, the girl vanished.
