The Colosseum is located at the heart of Asgard and near the central Kage Tower, several blocks south, where the more militarized side of the of the park can be found. This arena is home to all forms of official, sanctioned combat within Iwagakure. Part training facility, part entertainment venue, the arena was constructed soon after Tsuchikage Enfuego took hold of the village throne. It is considered one of the five wonders of Iwa, and most definitely a point of interest. All citizens may attend matches for free; outsiders are expected to pay entree fees depending on the occasion.
The facility is gigantic in size and stature, a view directly from above revealing a circular shape, with four equidistant statues of unique looking warriors in identical positions looming over the stage. Hands gripping their main weapon of choice, they keep them before them, as if offering them to the stage, while giving a small bow. These statues - labeled the Four Champions of Earth - depict the champions Iwa has been privy to through history. Though many youth forget the tales and accomplishments of these historic figures, anyone above the rank of Genin is well aware of their exploits, and as a result, the freedoms they all enjoy today. Truth be told, it'd be disrespectful to give nothing but your all while fighting in the presence of these deities.
The main arena is fifty meters in diameter, with a twenty-five meter wide channel hugging the fighting stage. After that, ascending staggered seating accommodates hundreds, if not thousands, and spans another five meters. Each statue is roughly seventy-five meters tall, with the last row of colosseum seating falling just twenty-five meters shorts. Needless to say, all of it is comprised of the toughest earth and stone, coated in chakra only Iwagakure officials could successfully manipulate.
From tournaments to skirmishes and friendly duels, the colosseum is meant to exist so that all of Iwa's fighting force had access to a constant means of keeping their fighting spirit fresh. It's motto - 'fight on!' - is a friendly reminder that although Iwa was in a sense an autonomous yet neutrally peaceful force, it was one that carried much power. And while that force was not one turn a blade onto its neighbors on a whim, should they do the same, Stone would be ready. The colosseum was instrumental to that readiness. With the four Champions of the Earth watching over each contestant, it is said merely walking the hallowed grounds of the arena would make you a beast on the battlefield.
