For someone so confident in their abilities, though many consider hers a form of immense hubris, it had never once occurred to her that she might ever need help. Teams made no sense to her, because why should she place her faith in random people. It wasn't something she enjoyed, and she voiced that, which lead to many people avoiding her. At the time it was exactly what she wanted, but as she trained alone and developed alone she realized that everyone needed someone at the very least. She didn't desire a team because she neither liked giving orders nor taking them. But a partner, that was different. It wasn't leadership, it was cooperation and if it was with someone who interested her then she would have no problem working and developing with them.

The problem, therein, was her ignorance beforehand and the act of pushing everyone away. She needed to find someone who both impressed her, and was willing to work with her. Another fabulous problem, driven by her own hand. Groaning to herself, she rolled out of bed and got dressed in her typical garb. The maroon swimsuit matching the coat and it's fur brushing against her neck. Strapping on her heels, she sighed before exiting her home.

Today was the day. Regardless of how everything had proceeded before, today she would find someone worthy and wanting to be her partner. A Bonnie needed her Clyde, after all, no?

"Oui, c'est tres magnifique. she said out loud, though mostly to herself, before dropping down into the sandy 'streets' of Sunagakure.

Setting off slowly, she had no real destination in mind. She was simply hoping that by some strand of fate, or striking miracle, that someone would just appear.

For the young genin the day presented itself as rather unusual. His night had brought him to a place he did not fully understand. Though he understood quite clearly the importance of his situation and the decision he has to make. It was just that he found it odd, to say the least. The crossroads he was now upon seemed to present only endings.

Susumu searched for solace as he walked the village streets. Idle and aimless, he only noticed how quiet the village had actually gotten. The normal hustle and bustle of the markets and vendors were now a murmur like that of a swift breeze sweeping the desert. This dip in activity was only temporary, it would once again swell up into a storm. But until then, he had a decision to make.

It was like a bomb had just gone off. He was snapped from his idle trance and gathered his thoughts on his surroundings. There was a flurry of sand and debris that stabbed through a building and looked to engulf the street in its mass. A bomb had just gone off, just a building ahead of him and he saw it clearly the innocent bodies caught in its explosion. It was as if a strong current had just blown them away and through the sandy mass that followed, four masked figures sped through.

Susumu recognized their movements instantly, they were ninja. And more importantly he was able to recognize the masks they were. Big and bulky that hung outward from their face unlike any mask for festivals or even of the ANBU’s zodiac mask, these were gas masks. It made him hesitant to leap into action, reluctantly he took a step back. There was still time to pursue. . .
