ANCHOR-9 - "Command Center"

"It is said those that are sent to ANCHOR-9 never really return. You're not dead. You're not alive. You just..disappear. There's no way to explain it, but truth be told, the Samurai got really good at the unexplainable. Once the war ended and their victory was secured, they began to round up their prisoners. Those that fought back? If they weren't killed, then they were sent to places like ANCHOR-9."

"The thing about places like ANCHOR-9 is that they make it sound so easy! So nonchalante! Who would suspect a place named 'Anchor-9' is really a house of death for those the Samurai either fear or have received opposition from. The strongest prisoners of the war were sent to places like this, because such beasts would never bow down to the likes of the Samurai. And once they witness the disappearances of their heroes, those that remain have no choice but to abide."

"It was cruel but effective. ANCHOR-9 was special, because it's rumored some big names got sent here. The sad part is the Samurai were not happy with simple victory and enslavement; no, they wanted to really prove a point. So those that were the kings of the shinobi, the champions that lead the way, the big names everyone hyped about; those got sent here. And they weren't granted a swift death either; no..."

"...they were broken. Their will was tested with tiresome work, little to no nutrition, extremely hot conditions, all thanks to the natural setting of the desert that surrounded them across Kaze no Kuni, and daily beatings. It was brutal. And if any showed signs of fading? They'd use their medical staff to keep them alive, so that the pain would continue."

"That...that is the kind of place ANCHOR-9 was, and most likely still is. Closed off only to high ranking Samurai, it has long been forgotten by the populace, shelfed and complacently forgotten so that those enslaved could swallow their existence and rationalize their loss. It was pathetic. But not everyone forgot. They had not capture us just yet. Know that lions still roam..."

"...even if it is built meters into the ground, and guarded by high level Samurai personnel, there is always a way. And soon, we'll find it."'

_{1 hour prior to prison break}

It'd be a lie to say they stood in awe over their most recent work; they knew exactly just what they were capable of. But as if to somehow rub it in to some nonexistent viewer, they would nonetheless act as if they pondered in wonder as to how they achieved such a high degree of murder potential. And while the others were busy celebrating with glee as they danced indiscriminately amongst the very corpses they helped create, the leader of this insidious bunch made their way towards a nearby screen. Though splattered in blood and decorated in lifeless bodies, it contained the very thing they wished for; a voice.

A single hand brushed a body aside, a streak of crimson making the labeling across the machinery almost illegible. But he knew exactly what he was doing. He didn't need a guide. Smooth and without interruption, the masked man began to flip switches and move dials, actions which soon forced the once idle machinery to come alive. Despite the death that toiled on it, the machinery in the command center was very much effective. He didn't to say much, as his minions quickly snapped out of their drunken stupor and moved to make their boss' life easier. They wouldn't want his to incur his wrath, not after what he just showed them.

One instrument stood out to the masked man in particular - it was a microphone. He tapped on it ever so slightly, a gloved hand emerging from underneath the folds of his robe. The result of his test was pleasing, enticing a pleased 'ahh' to escape from the mouthpiece of his mask; it seemed his voice would soon truly be heard by all, even long, lost and forgotten brothers and sisters in arms!

Now, as the mangled bodies of the Samurai and their personnel were drug away and piled up into a corner by the very monsters that made them so, the leader of this orchestrated murder would now sit down, remaining upright and adopting an engaged, focused demeanor. He was ready for the next step. It was time to move on to phase two of his master prison break plan.

"GOOD EVENING, DENIZENS OF ANCHOR-9..."

"...PLEASE ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF, FOR I AM A MAN OF WEALTH AND TASTE...!!!"

"HEAD OF SECURITY, SOUL"
_{2 HOUrs prior to prison break}

He was extremely robotic in his nature, every movement performed calculated and exact. Waste was not a word or state that could exist simultaneously around SOULl. Precision was the meaning of his existence, and it was for that very reason that he was compelled to approach the Command Center after he'd received the most recent status report. The others didn't pay much attention, but within SOUL's brilliant comprehensive mind, a few degrees of temperature of difference from the normal was enough to summon lingering suspicion.

It should be noted that this facility has existed without incident for ten excruciatingly long and boring years, all thanks to the careful approach SOUL had with his work. But even then, after having such a reputation and track record, he would not relent in his his surveillance. You see, his belief was that his success was due to the very basic fundamentals that got him here in the first place - the very same things he insists on doing, to this day.

Some refer to him as gifted, while most dismiss his keen and rare intellect as insanity. Regardless, his clean track record spoke for itself, and his existence was none reliant on social acceptance. He was a one man army, literally. Therefore, he stood unchallenged. Truth be told, SOUL was offered the position of Head Warden many times before. However, he turned it down every single time. Why? Because he had but one purpose - to secure ANCHOR-9. Politics and theatrics would then be bestowed upon another man. Were they necessarily better? No. But then again, none of them dared claim that against SOUL. Like a lion patrolling the serengeti for dinner, only to find itself walking past an equal, they simply eyed each other closely and moved on.

Perhaps he was being paranoid. After the tenth sweep ordered across all corridors, SOUL's staff began to insist nothing was wrong. The Samurai stationed at ANCHOR-9 were excellent, but could not stand SOUL's ways. They followed him because they had to, but quickly grew tired of his paranoid ways. There were no changes in heat signatures. It wasn't a coincidence that The Eater broke its standard sleep cycle in order to retreat to its feeding grounds. It wasn't convenient that the Warden had to head down with it to make sure things were alright. And finally, the random power outages that began to occur across the prisoner blocks were just electrical failures as a result of the storm....

...these were all just coincidences, right? Right...no. No one saw. No one but him. And that was why he was the Head of Security. His voice, automatic and digital, filled the room.

"Strategic Offensive Utopian Logistics unit active."

"...stage one armament in process - stand by...."

"...soldiers of ANCHOR-9, brace yourselves, for we are under attack..."
