You understand a set of secret signs and symbols used to convey short, simple messages, such as whether an area is dangerous or the territory of a thieves' guild, whether loot is nearby, or whether the people in an area are easy marks or will provide a safe house for thieves on the run.

Character Depth
Criminal Speciality: Fence.
Personality trait: I am always calm, no matter what the situation. I never raise my voice or let my emotions control me.
Gitsune always manages to maintain his composure, no matter how stressful the situation is. Whether the problem is a social one or combat based, keeping a cool head allows you to think clearly, enabling you to come up with a well thought out plan. As opposed to the mindless bumbling, or stuttering of a lunatic. Gitsune's profession is built on deception, being able to stay in character is a vital skill. As such, he has become quite skilled at controlling his emotions, as opposed to allowing them to control him, only raising his voice as part of one of his well-constructed performance.
Ideal: People: I'm loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care.
Gitsune's sense of loyalty is an abstract one, to say the least. Rather than being loyal to a set of ideals and principles, he is instead concerned with his own personally well-being, his band of friends, and that of the Zhentarim legion. Although he often exchanges pleasantries and exhibits good manners towards those he considers friends (∨ allies), and only acts with malicious intent against those who would seek to harm his accomplices. Gitsune's alignment is not 'good' as he does not care for anyone outside of these circles. Although he does not wish ill on others, he if of the believe that it is better for evil to befall them, than a member of his personal circle.
If an ally requires Gitsune's assistance, then he would try his utmost to aid them; however, if they are an unaffiliated party he will weigh the options, before acting. Furthermore, an enemy's cries for help would be all but ignored.
Bond: Someone I loved died because of 1 mistake I made. That will never happen again.
Gitsune has seen many of his fellow orphans pass away, although by large these occurrences were out of his control. There was, however, one situation that Gitsune considers to be his own fault. He had brought one of his brothers to a crypt for his daily training. Once they started, it quickly became apparently that Gitsune's level was far above that of his friend. As Gitsune quickly darted through all of the problem areas, he built up such a large distance that he was unable to intervene when a set of poisonous arrows pierced the young boy's ribs.
These events helped to mould Gitsune's attitude, as he developed quite a studious personality. He often has the habit of asking many questions on a particular topic and immerses himself in topics that he enjoys. He carefully considering the answers that he receives even if the person offering them is of a different belief to him. Gitsune is willing to dedicate a large portion of his time towards uncover the truth, and fully comprehending a topic.
Flaw: An innocent person is in prison for a crime that I committed. I'm okay with that.
When Gitsune strikes out against someone who has harmed his friends, he does so with little to no remorse. There have been occasions on which the young rogue has purposely framed people for crimes they did not commit, an example being the time a noble tried to squeeze the Zhentarim. Gitsune broke into a local church and stole a religious artefact, doing so in a manner that brought a lot of attention. All the while, his disguise ensured that the locals believed the perpetrator was the noble. He then climbed into the noble's household and placed the artefact in a crude manner under his bed, before fleeing. Of course, the authorities were informed about this action and led a raid on the noble's house, and despite protesting his innocence, the stolen artefact was quickly discovered.
Appearance:
A man of a thousand faces Gitsune is very adept at changing his appearance to better suite his environment. Whether it be a regal attire so that he can pass himself off as a noble or a dishevelled one so that he can pass himself off as a vagabond. One of the things he has learned over the years, however, is how to take care of his appearance, easily one of the most handsome men on the continent. His near perfect skin shows practically no imperfection apart from a small beauty mark to the left-hand side of his lips.
Despite his specialisation in Genjutsu Gitsune possesses a hardened body, forged from hours in honing his Taijutsu and weightlifting. His height is above the average for his country/geographical region, along with his muscle mass. His sun-kissed skin holds a low level of body fat, showing his well-defined muscles off, due to his performance enhancing drugs such as Trenbolone. Gitsune regularly competes in Men's physique contests, as a way to measure his performance against other citizens.
Gitsune has no tattoos and only a limited amount of body hair, apart from his eyebrows, and the hair on his head. His hair is a black with a dark blue tint and cut in a rather choppy manner. Gitsune typically wears his hair tied back into a bun, secured in place by a hairpin, or traditional accessory when left unchecked Gitsune's hair extends down towards his chin. Gitsune often displays his wealth by sporting gold accessories and pieces of exotic fur from his hair.
Gitsune's soft electric blue eyes generally draw the gaze of onlookers towards his face. A tone that is uncommon among his kekki genkai, as their eyes are normally earthy tones, the same can also be said about the colour of his hair, both are rather unique. Gitsune typically varies his attire based on what type of role he is playing. When he is not wearing a disguise Gitsune typically sports some form of traditional clothing, a mark of the imperial royalty of the great nations.
The finest tailors in the land wove Gitsune's attire, from high-quality materials, embroidered with precious metals gems, and exotic furs. Gitsune accessorises with looted materials, taken from the tombs of noble families. He makes use of these accessories to support his backstories such as signet rings that have a family crest upon them so that he can pass himself off as a descendant of a rich or noble family. The quality of these materials allows Gitsune to fool even a skilled appraiser.

Background:
Archetype: Assassin
You focus your training on the grim art of death. Those who adhere to this archetype are diverse: hired killers, spies, bounty hunters, and even specially anointed priests trained to exterminate the enemies of their deity. Stealth, poison, and disguise help you eliminate your foes with deadly efficiency.
One of the bastard sons of a Toujitakumi scion, Gitsune and his brother were both abandoned at birth. Left to be raised by the infamous Zhentarim legion, via their ‘black network’ of orphanages. Only the Zhentarim cared for him, a lesson that the young boy learned upon venturing out into the local town one day. He may have only been seven years old, but even he could see the looks of disdain that covered the villagers faces, their lips curled with contempt. Yes, the Zhentarim had not only saved both twins from certain death but they had also provided for them over the years.
Gitsune was among a select few orphans who showed an aptitude for one of the Zhentarim's messier lines of work, the dark art of assassination. It was under the faceless master’s watchful eye that the young rogue developed the silver tongue and polished good looks required to charm information from the ladies of the night. The hard master helped him to develop the dexterity to perform all manner of acrobatic feats, and the ability to perceive the most efficient root to infiltrate a fortress. However, all of these skills would have counted for nothing if he lacked the capacity for to move surreptitiously. In the name of perfecting the stealth arts, the young boy beatings day after day, until he reached a point in which he excelled at it.
One of the earliest things the hard master taught him was the importance of perception, and investigation, many people confused the two, but having a keen eye for both was essential in their line of trade. One of the most effective ways to improve this skill set was by taking advantage of the numerous crypts and burial vaults that littered the land. By targeting, the areas that held only the richest of contents the young rogue could ensure that an assortment of traps would be present. Then there was just the simple task of identifying and avoiding the life-threatening situations.
Unfortunately, there was the small matter of disposing of the treasures that he had obtained via this training method. However, as the faceless master was quick to point out this too was a part of his training, the marketplace of a city held innumerable dangerous? One of these dangers was the local law enforcement, driven mad by corruption. The simple act of selling goods in the marketplace was enough to be considered a crime in their eyes. As such, Gitsune was forced to develop a keen business sense his naturally deceptive natural helped him ferret out the undercover officers from the prudent patron.
Having proved himself on the field, Gitsune rose from the rank of foot soldier to something that required a little more nous. For his assignment, he was ordered to work alongside the spies, from whom he developed his already impressive charisma into something that could influence all but the most steel hearted. They also taught him the importance of a good back-story, which consequently led to his enrolment in a university.
However, his time at the academy could not be considered a usual one, for the young male did not just study a single subject, as was the norm. Instead, he flitted from subject to subject, changing his classes after a matter of weeks. This unusual method of studying was a ploy on Gitsune's part, for it allowed him to establish several different identities, along with gaining a rudimental understanding of a broad range of subjects. His exposure to all of the different instructors also allowed him to add a layer of depth to each background, as he accustomed himself to their traits and mannerisms.
