OTO (Sound)

Oto (Sound), involves the manipulation of sound waves around the user in order to produce either an adverse effect on the opponent, or a beneficial one for the user. Because the of the power and potential of sound, not only is this a highly regarded art that is well regulated when it comes to dispensing its knowledge, it is also very difficult to learn.

The amount of chakra control is needed is sometimes more so then when attempting to manipulate other elemental forms of nature itself. Also, if the user incorrectly manipulates the waves, their creation could turn on them - with disastrous results. As such, its use was forbidden as much as because of its destructive potential as well as its potential to fail.

Regardless, by utilizing their chakra, the user may alter the frequency of sound waves to the point different lengths can induce different effects. Due to its lack of physical substance, Oto is used for supplementary and offensive purposes mainly, as well as for stealth and movement, most effective when uised at short to medium range.

• To be Truly Sightless, one must have been born in the dark, or thrown into through some unfortunate but unavoidable means. Still, to you, who has mastered living and fighting without the power of sight, the use of sound techniques is almost second nature. The pictures you see with your sonar are uncompilable to those with sight that use it. While they detect aspects, you a whole picture.
  
  With this traits, the use of the Sonar ability can be activated without needing the use of seals, and can be performed while you are moving and using other abilities.
  

Note: This only works - and can be obtained - if your character actually is truly permanently blind. If they somehow regain their sight due to a transplant, this trait is automatically lost.

• By constantly exposing your auditory system to the power of sound, you now become able to not only hear through the technique Sonar, but also see. The delay that once existed no longer prevents you from being one with the very sound waves around you.
  
  At Rank 1, the pause is mostly removed, as you get information at an accelerated rate. At Rank 2, you no longer have to keep your eyes closed. At Rank 3, you no longer have to remain still.

• You understand the waves of sound better than most, and as such, you can hear past the limits placed on most mortals.

Dabingun (Ventriloquism)

Type: Supplementary
Cost: Multi
Description: This allows the user to throw their voice across distances, to the point it can go wherever they wish with sufficient practice. This includes moving through objects, so that the user can truly make it sound as if they’re within a room, or on the other side of a wall. As long as the user is willing to invest chakra each time they continue to throw their voice, they are able to use this technique multiple times in rapid succession.



Omeku (Shout)

Description: A very straight forward and offensive technique, this potent scream allows the user to attack multiple targets at once by unleashing a powerful yell that envelops and overwhelms the entire area around the user as a result of the almost deafening scream. The user will need to remain still as they draw in a deep breath in order to unleash a powerful auditory blast which will then expand all around the user.


Keep in mind this covers a whole area and will affect anyone in the blast, regardless of whether friend or foe are present. The user can sustain this yell as long as they are able to pay for it, but be advised that sufficient damage to the Oto user's chest and lung area could not only disrupt this technique, but also cause it to backfire on the user, resulting in them incurring their own damage.

Description: As the name would imply, the sound bullet technique allows the user to fire off a fist-sized pocket of sound at their target after creating a blast of sound in the form of a forward, clap or scream. After forming hand seals, the user will produce either a slap, clap, or scream, bringing forward with extreme force a loud blast that will power the sound. While this does not at all travel at the speed of sound, it does move fast, and can cause massive internal disruption to the victim or target should it connect.

Description: The basis behind the majority of Oto ninjutsu lies in the user's ability to control the sound waves around them by allowing the user to intermingle their chakra with that of nature, harmonizing the two in order to create control over sound around them by seeing the world through the lenses of sonar.

With this technique, the user is capable of enhancing their perception of sound via chakra to an unnatural degree, able to detect things such as shallow breaths, breaking twigs, and even beating hearts.

This technique works by requiring the user to remain still while they send out a pulse of sound which travels in all directions. They then wait for their sound pulse to return to them with echoes from their surroundings, able to detect and locate otherwise hidden targets, especially in terrain and battlefields where vision can be obstructed.

Once the pulse is sent, the delay is small, but it leaves room for the user to suddenly move should they be somehow ambushed in the process. As such, if one moves before their pulse returns, the sonar fails. The closer a target is to the user, the better picture they receive. Also, the longer the Sonar is maintained consistently, the more detailed their readings become.
