Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) is a space-time ninjutsu that allows the summoner to transport items, animals, or people across long distances instantly.

Before an animal summoning can be performed, a prospective summoner must first sign a contract with a given species. The contract comes in the form of a scroll, on which the contractor uses their own blood to sign their name and place their fingerprints. Once signed, it is valid until the summoner willingly breaks it or dies. After this they need only offer an additional blood sacrifice on the hand they signed the contract with, mold their chakra with hand seals, and plant the hand they signed the contract with at the location they wish to summon the creature. The amount of chakra used during summoning determines how powerful the summoned creature will be.

Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle. However, the summon is not required to do anything at all, and if the bond between the summoner and summon is bad, they may be more of a hindrance than an ally. In addition, Summons are able to reverse-summon their contract holders to them.

1. Acquiring a Summoning Family requires a Major Trait.

2. Summoning Families are intensely picky about those they contract with. In order to sign a contract the user must be at least C Grade and complete a GMed quest searching for and making the summoning contract. Other limits may apply depending on the particular family.

3. Only seven people may hold a contract with the same family at a time.

4. Each summoned creature is created as a custom after the player attains the summoning contract and is available to only their creator.

5. Canon Summoning Families will be handled by staff. These are; snake, toad, tortoise, monkey, salamander, dog, slug, nue, and weasel. (These are specifically canon summons that showed any form of personality, any other canon species such as clam are free game.)

Summoning Family Basics

All summoned creatures differ from one individual to another much like shinobi themselves.

When a summon is brought forth it only requires the initial cost of chakra, equal to a technique of equal rank to bring it forth and will then act autonomously for better or for worse. A summoned creature will be dispelled when it is either sent back by the summoner, has run out of chakra, or has taken lethal damage.

A Summoning Family represents the group as a whole and thus no two people are able to summon the same individual.

Species. Firstly the species of family dictates the family itself and the members within, while the Gama family have both frogs and toads, a canine family will not harbor a fox or other such off shoots.


Home. While unknown to most besides those who have taken up a contract in the past, Summoning families reside in remote places rich with natural chakra. This in turn has been theorized to be the cause of their unique evolution as opposed to common animals.

History. Like all things each family has a story of how they came to be and the trials they have overcome to become the apex of their region.

Conflict. While the world itself is a whirlwind of violence and tension, such things rarely matter to these creatures and thus each family will react in their own way when brought to bare against each other. Some may refuse to entertain the notion at all and leave immediately, others may have no qualms about fighting their own kin, either as a challenge or to the death.

Inheritance. This is a unique ability that every member of a summoning family has and is usually related to something unique their species in question is capable of. Such as poison secretion in frogs.

Slots. Every family has its own stipulations and rules laid out in their contract and can be as broad or narrow as they seem fit and the shinobi wishing to gain their contract must abide by them.

Chief. The head of every Summoning Family, and the individual most summoners will likely go through to make their contract. The Chief represents the strongest member within the family and thus cannot be obtained by players, the Chief is solely a member meant for GMs and story purposes. However, Captain Classification members are effectively as strong as the Chief but lack the authority.

After a Summoning Contract has been obtained a summoner may then create their own members for their use. Please Note that no canon members will be accepted in this manner.

Rank and Classification. As with any family hierarchy Summoning Families have their own, represented by a scale that is determined by their power and capabilities. While not always a factor, those of larger stature are often stronger members.

D / Junior. The bottom of the totem pole, the cronies, the babies. A Junior Class member are the youngest and most inexperienced of the bunch but make no mistake are still quite capable.
C / Middle. The next rung up the ladder are the Middle Class members, as they start to come into their own and show more skill than the Junior Class, the Middles can easily hold their own in combat.
B / Senior. At the higher levels of the family are the Senior Class members who represent a fine combatant, seasoned and honed for conflict.
A / Captain/Chief. Representing the strongest members of the families are the Captains. These are creatures capable of going toe to toe with Tailed Beasts and decimate large numbers of enemy forces.
S / Sage. While most don't know if they exist, the Sages are often aloof mysterious members that are rarely seen outside of their domain. An S-rank quest is required to meet and gain a Sage's permission to be summoned.

Attributes. Like Shinobi, Summoned Creatures also are built around core talents which are represented through Attributes.

D / Junior. 1 Primary
C / Middle. 1 Primary and 1 Secondary
B / Senior. 1 Primary, 1 Secondary, and 1 Tertiary
A / Captain/Chief. 1 Primary, 2 Secondary, and 1 Tertiary

Durability. Like any combatant Summoned Creatures have their own measure of health and when it runs out they will leave the battlefield.
