The Memory Sphere, a wondrous invention that up until recently was only fantasy and lore spoken through the mouths of shinobi everywhere. However, as the Samurai continue to never fail to impress, their relationship with Whirlpool is so good their priests have gifted them with a piece of their secret technology. Filled with a unique gelatin substance, participants of the Exams will be asked to step forward at the platform that exists near the top of the 50 meter tall dome, where they will jump in as if they were going swimming.

It is then that the magic begins. The stadium filled to the brim in a roaring crowd, they will witness how the jelly - an actual living entity of the ocean - suddenly comes alive. The science? Special chakra runs through the jelly, which was discovered by Whirpool to have unique "hallucinigenic" effects on those that come in contact with it. The result? The floating participants will hit the jelly and immediately go comatose, their bodies floating free as their minds enter a new world. Never will their drown, and never will they truly perish.

However, this is no paradise they've entered - it's hell. For within moments of their inception into this jelly world - which has been fittingly displayed atop giant monitors fixed over the dome all around for the patrons to see - they'd be dropped into an entirely new world. All white and nothing more, this world of emptiness is empty of sound, smell, taste, and feeling. But not for long...

It's time to get real, kids. Yeah, maybe you can answer some stupid questions, but can you REALLY outlive your enemy when they don't want you to!? I'm taking about WAR!

It hadn't quite dawned on him the sort of spectacle the exams were until the very moment he stood almost 50 meters above what appeared to be a spherical swimming pool. He rushed to where he was instructed to go. The news of the second round beginning had reached his ears, as well as the ears of the other participants. Things would be moving along swiftly, which was exactly what he wanted in these exams. The sooner he passed, the sooner he could head home, reaping the benefit of his new status and rank.

His feet carried him over to the edge of the platform, where he would have to jump into the odd and mysterious construction that came from someplace outside of his own knowledge. He wondered if the other participants were ignorant of what exactly the examiners had in mind for the second round. His mind began to question if he would be ready for what laid ahead. Fear of the unknown was always something that gripped him by the neck.

The roar of the crowd ignited like a phoenix's flame, as the participants of the exams entered where they were told to go. People would be watching. Though they were there, in his own little world, they were completely irrelevant and void, as his concentration was each and everyone one of his competitors. Without waiting for the others to start, he descended into his liquid prison.

His fall into the sphere would be a short and swift one, and for a slight moment, he could see clearly, through the gel like creation. He expected regular water. However he found that taking in that deep breath before lowering his altitude into the contraption would have been unnecessary. He instantly lost consciousness as he landed.

The transition would be swift. One second he is looking through blurred eyes at the stadium that he once stood in. Now, he stood in a world where everything was white, as far as the eye could see. Standing upon his feet he turned and looked about. He was alone, or so it had seemed. He was the first Genin to enter, so naturally he would be. At least that's what he told himself. He was in a new world, unknowing of if anyone would show up at all.

His body felt slightly heavier than it did before. He looked upon his left side to find a pair of nunchaku, strapped to his side. He raised an eyebrow in wonder at how the inanimate object found a home on his person.

While his mind raced, and as time passed, the second round was beginning.

They have an open circle in the center, used for grabbing with a finger, to avoid cutting oneself, or to put thread through. The circle is also a benefit in aerodynamics, as it ensures more accurate trajectories.

So this hadn’t gone as bad as she had thought it would- The start, that is.
Although a gigantic dome filled with some kind of strange, jelly-like sea hadn’t exactly been what she had guessed the second round would bring about, she was sure that the elegant leap she had made in to the jelly itself would be the easiest thing that would happen in this round. Surely, there was something sinister at work here, right? Or at least something quite strange. As a new world revealed itself of blinding white to start off with, she could but wonder the properties of whatever they had just jumped in to- This was very strange- As she no doubt hit the liquid, everything changed. But- She couldn’t really protest. She had signed up for this, so she had to go on- She insisted on going on- The title of Chuunin was quite a sumptuous reward!

And now- weaponry. What was she to choose? With a lot of things on offer it would seem as if her own weaponry would be discarded, and in place, switched with whatever she was to choose from the variety that this round had to offer- Which was quite a lot.Her choices would soon be made, as the girl, her green hair in its usual straight, sleek style, had seemed to remove her cloak during the start of the exam, it being in her room or somewhere safe. She was instead wearing her usual gear, with nothing much having changed except for the fact that now she held herself with a bit more pride than she had in the past- She’d have to pass this exam. With her form laying there almost in heavenly simplicty as she choose her items, she would soon be done, and would await for the round to commence.

"The Memory Sphere." An object of great speculation and lore, but the concept was not as widespread as some would assume. Outside of the libraries in Kumogakure such oddities were a mystery, if not completely unknown. As Ip appeared before the grand structure, large buildings being a trend in Samurai architecture, questions filled his mind. What made these sword wielding warriors so technologically advanced? Were there shinobi villages, though still recovering from war, with their hands in the like?

"Here goes nothing," he said as he coughed into his palm, leaping through the air and down into the sphere. The process was swift and took him by surprise. In mere moments a world of white laid before his eyes, his pick filled with odds and ends he may no have had before. More so startling was the loss of his prized Jian Huángjīn Shídài. For a moment he whorled about, patting himself down, frantic until reality surfaced. A world of white replaced the liquid sphere, Samurai compounds, and roaring crowds. Even his attire had changed to a quasi-clerical black oriental robe, a generic Jian fastened to his hip, with his bright red hair set into a queue fashion.

He appeared after two others as the third to enter the second stage of the Chuunin Exams. After a moment he straightened himself and placed his hands behind his back, speculatively studying the new world. It had been a long time coming. Whatever they had in store, Ip was buying.

[LENA?!]

The fall down below her seemed to get bigger and bigger every time that Lena looked down. It wasn't like Lena was exactly afraid of the fall below her, it was just that she did not know what would await her at the end. She saw the dome filled with the jelly-like ocean of water and she bit her lip softly. Finally, however, it came her turn to jump. She stepped cautiously to the edge of the platform she was on and finally took a deep breath before moving back and running, diving gracefully into the pool of jelly below her. She saw the crowd whirring by her as she fell, but as soon as her face hit the jelly her whole world turned into a blank white canvas.

When she opened her eyes, Lena found herself on her feet, still in that blank white world, however her body felt heavier and she saw she possessed weapons which she had not possessed before and the ones she had possessed before had vanished. She looked down at her feet and tried to activate her daggers, only to find they were missing. She cursed softly, as they had been her surprise weapons and sighed softly, looking around and waiting for the exams to really begin. Part of her pondered over what the terrain would be like and instantly her mind began planning a ploy for all of them

Arriving at the place where the second part of the exams were supposed to be held, Hirihi coughed into her closed fist as she followed the instructions that were given to her. Submerging herself into the Memory Sphere, Hirihi descended into a world that was completely black. Her mind began to swim with images of what was to be her ideal equipment for the second part of the exams. This was definitely much better than going through the paper exams. She'd be able to actually have a lasting effect in the events transpiring.

With all of her equipment picked out and placed on her person, she waited patiently for the next part of the exam to begin. Katana on her back as she waited, Hirihi kept her mind focused. "I really hope that this goes well." She thought to herself, another concern coming to her mind. Was she going to be teamed up with her friend Kurai? Was she going to be required to fight him, even in the simulated world they were given? She could only hope she had a team. She didn't do well in fights by herself. She made due, yes, but there was only so much she could do.

The line hastened until it was finally Kaeor's turn to take the plunge into the sphere. He certainly didn't like this contraption that the samurai had forged and debated whether or not he should truly enter it or go home. Unfortunately if he wanted to gain that title, he would have to continue to trudge along. So taking a deep breathe he would prepare himself for the inevitable jump. His fashion was by no means in excessively lavish. His gear hadn't really changed much at all, except for the fact that he now wore battle gear on his upper chest. Even then it wasn't visible beneath his red kimono.

"Well. It's showtime."

It was time for the now more fun parts of this so called exam. It was what Masumi had been waiting for. The line soon shrunk as the genin pooled into the odd contraption one by one. With her body tingling with adrenaline that ran rampant through her body, Masumi smiled as it was her turn to enter the giant sphere. Stepping through, she knew not of what awaited her, but she knew it was time to get serious.

The demon of the hidden mist was coming to a slaughter...

And now it was his turn, giving a faint nod to the ones who waved him on to continue forward he began his way towards the water orb. But, the sound it made and the way it moved showed him it wasn't mere water, it was something similar to what he was made up of. Glancing about he smirked at the crowd. Slowly moving forward once more he turned on his heel, opting to drop in backwards. And within moments of landing in the jelly sphere he fell apart into his own jelly state due to unconsciousness.

He'd been spending the last week in anticipation for this one round, but he hadn't been expecting the method in which it would go down. And now, all that anticipation had suddenly morphed into suspicions- paranoia. Atlas wondered whether it was the weather: oppressive, still and cold. It felt as if a storm was on the way, but the storm never came. He had the jitters and the heebie-jeebies, a feeling deep in his stomach that something was entirely wrong. The wind gusted as he waited in line with the others, trying not to imagine themselves as lambs being led to slaughter. Instead, Atlas imagined he could smell the fresh snow on the air.

The possibilities floated through his mind like soap bubbles, there as he thought them, gone completely a moment later. The line continued to advance- the crowd's roar increasing as he drew close and closer to the strange sphere hovering over the center of the stadium. He'd heard about it before, in storybooks and tall tales. Apparently, the Samurai had managed to get ninja from the mysterious Whirlpool country to provide them with such a service. And with his sensor vision active, he could see the strange chakra that dwelt within it. Tones of blue and yellow, swirling and crashing into one another, a colorful spectacle of strange power.

Atlas tasted fear in the back of his throat, bitter as old coffee. He told himself he was being stupid, but his heart was pounding fit to burst out of his chest. But the Akegarasu stood tall and looked straight ahead, concentrated on not allowing himself to be riled by his trepidations. I have people to fight for now... remember? People worth fighting for. And then he reminded himself of the Chuunin title, and what it would mean to himself. What it would mean to his country. In the face of fear, he had to be headstrong. Had the war not taught him that, or was his amnesia to blame? No matter, as it was his turn next, and those fears suddenly shed away. A burden had been lifted off his shoulders.

Thoughts of combat filled his mind, and his reassuring reminder of those he was currently striving for had boosted his spirits. And so, a wide monkey grin would suddenly spread across the male's face- the crowd's cheers fueling the excitement and adrenaline that pumped through his veins. He'd survived through many things before, he could survive through this if he put his mind to it as well. Now, as each step drew him nearer to the beautiful sphere ahead, he would process the weaponry he'd be using on this endeavor. The strategies he had planned before coming here. The training he had undertaken, and the techniques he had acquired from them. He was as ready as he was ever going to get.

What makes it so versatile and universal is the fact the Kunai can be used in conjunction with explosive tags and other weapons to form deadly combos out of simple, easily accessible items.

A white masquerade mask covers the right half of his face, but is fitted so that it does not obscure or debilitate his vision in that eye in any manner. If it had, he would have never have worn it. He wears a deep black coat with silver buttons and long sleeves. Underneath that, he wears a white shirt with flared cuffs, sprouting out from the sleeves of said coat. Tied around his waist is a leather belt with a golden belt buckle. Hanging off of said belt, on the left hip, is his sheath and its katana. He wears a pair of comfortable, black combat trousers and stylish black boots with silver buckles.

Most of his secondary weaponry are organized in the butt bags that hang off his back side. His remaining five senbon, however, are hidden in the sleeve of his left arm. He wears fitted, black leather gloves- neither tight nor loose enough to cause disturbance.

As the growth of this prison would begin to increase by the second, the crowd surrounding it would begin to roar louder and louder. A bastion of sound, consisting of taunts, cries, chants and wishes would begin to engulf the ears of everyone in the vicinity. The first test had been simple, being a matter of knowing basic scenarios. This would be a completely different encounter for the shinobi who would be testing their skills to achieve Chuunin status. While the majority of people were non-combatants, the few who were could only fear the sounds of the millions of people who would assault their aspirations. Kurai was no different. His chest panting back and forth, he could feel the heat of his blood pressure slowly starting to make him nervous. It was not the people who he would be facing in this unique creation that made him nervous. More so it was the expectation that his village, and family held for him. Kurai's bare, slender hands would slowly slide down his face as he would wipe any sign of uneasiness off. He had to prepare himself for the absolute worst. If he were to submit himself into this prison, he would have to do it wisely, and tactfully. He had never heard of anything like this 'Memory Sphere,' but he was not afraid to take the plunge. The weight of his clan stood on his shoulders, and while the Fuuma were far from accepted in many areas, this was a necessary step to ensure their return to glory.

Taking a few steps onto the massive stone balcony that would overlook the sphere, he could see the bodies of genin who had already leaped into the sphere. While they appeared to be at peace, he could only assume that they had instead been formulating nothing but meticulous ways to rip each other to shreds. The mysteries of this sphere were far too vast to trust, but considering that it was required, what other option did he have? Taking no time, the shinobi would leap from the balcony, performing a lazy front flip as his feet would pierce the watery surface of the sphere, his body plunging into the aquamarine embodiment. His body would begin to transform into something he had never seen before, a number of colors flustering around him to create something he could have never imagined. However, as the images would fade, as would the sounds of the audience. Having deafened a considerable amount upon his entry into the sphere, it had now become silent. The endless white that would surround him allowing him a bit of ambiance as he would look around. His figure remained the same, however the items that he would normally carry had all but vanished in substitution of weapons of much higher quality. His hand sliding down the thick black metal of a kunai blade, he would hold it out in front of him to reveal it's sturdiness. This was a unique weapon indeed, however what made his new equipment all the more interesting was the thick wooden mask that would cover his sharp porcelain face. A dark oak horns would protrude from the top of his head, connecting to vicious wooden jowls connecting to the bottom of his face. He held the appearance of a demon, and as his vicious golden eyes would peer into the endless white oblivion, he could only hold on constant thought: this would be an interesting test.

The information concerning the second part of the exam was almost un-imaginable. I tried to wrap my mind around the amazing orb that so many spoke of. It almost seemed unreal what shinobi of other clans and villages were able to do, but no matter how much one is told about the mysterious technology they’d probably have some sort of doubt of the machine. I myself did until I reached that platform after the other participants had went in, I’d be next with the cheers of the crowd at my back even if I was to turn and attempt to run it’d be a shame to my village. ”You only live once, might as well make a show of it.” I’d tell myself as I too took that plunge and allowed my form to clash with the orb.
