So excited...over what? A small 'tch' escaped my lips as I pressed on passed the crowds of the anxious and eager, uninterested in the frailties these competitions tend to impart on its viewers. I, Hyuuga Steve, had passed all this; all this child-play. But it mattered not, for I had a debt to pay, and unfortunately for me, the interest involved my devoted time to the children. Oh well.
A few guards took note of my approach and reacted oddly at first, but once they noticed the full gray uniform, confident stride and the electronic device in my hand, they knew my purpose here was strictly business. Standing aside from the doors labeled 'Staff', I walked through it on the upper level, out of the dome where the crowd gathered and cheered, and into the dark halls that existed within the arena which few knew about. It was here that I'd be maneuvered by a faint light, one which eventually led me to the 'Operation Room'.
Some had already arrived, though in this business, a stare-less wave of the hand was all the greetings anyone could afford. The room was littered in screens of all sizes, each showing different angles of what seemed to be the same white-washed world. In fact, had the camera not displayed the Genin and their make believe armory, I would've believed the system was down. However, such was not the case. Looking down at the book-sized remote, I eyed each button carefully - the smile, it was growing, as was my impatience to begin this War.
I couldn't hold back any longer. The 'Play' button on the remote was smashed, and in seconds, the Genin within their white play world would be gone once more. Their bodies, briefly suspended 30 miles into a sky littered in gray clouds, thunderstorms and rain, would remain untouched from all of nature's debauchery for a bit longer. It was the 'Oooo!' of the crowd I sought, that affirmation of wonder that let me know everyone else was seeing the same thing.
So then shall we? A deep, unknown voice broke into the world - God? Who knew? Let the games begin!...let this War begin. You're gonna get a glimpse of what your surviving elders went through, and even have a chance to redeem your country's name in the face of these nameless adversaries. If round one was about tactics, then round two is applications - come and SHOW me why you deserve to be called Chuunin!
Pick a starting point and pray - oh, and I wouldn't suggest you bunch up too much together. It'll attract more of "them"...
- Bloody Rice Fields - As its name implies, the bloody rice-fields as a 50x50 meter long area full of once healthy rice fields, recently planted in lieu of the next season of harvest. However, with the War breaking out, such formalities of life are no more. Now, all that's left of these food sources is blood. Everywhere. The rain made things wet, and the blood made it red. Rivers of red everywhere, plus a few dark figures moving around. Who could they be...?
- Anger's Peak - Located atop a small rocky formation on the field, Anger's Peak gets its name from the many battles the area has hosted. The area itself is preceded by grasslands, and the rock conglomeration exists in a 50 meter diameter. At the center? Anger's Peak, a 50 meter tall point said to host mysterious energies. All you can see from here are corpses...
- Battle at Bamboo - Obvious as it sounds, an active battle between the allies and the enemy is taking place in the 100 meter circular bamboo grove. Bamboo of all thickness, sizes and types existed, soon to be chopped down by the violent swings of War. Seems like a dangerous place to start...
- Loveless Lake - The dark waters host many monsters, or so the soldier stories go. In reality, many casualties have already sunken in here, as there is no more ground to bury the dead. As such, when bodies float back up, passer-byes get the wrong impression. Still, it's a pretty big lake, 50 meters in diameter, with jagged lake edges and a bit of activity at all sides. Odd, what's with the large bubble formation int he center of the lake...!?
