Raijin no Ken (Storming Thunder God Saber)

The legendary Raijin no Ken (God of Lightning), one of the Shinobi World's few weapons of true lore, has been sought by many nations throughout time, residing mostly in the hands of Kumo's elite due to the elemental affiliation. However, after an epic battle between Cloud and Leaf, it fell into Konoha's hands for several decades before being lost in the great war. Now, as everyone struggles to recover, the lust for Raijin's power has struck man's heart once more.

The sword itself glows bright yellow and is infused with pure electrical energy, hence its name. The blade is unusual in that, though it appears to retract into or emanate from the hilt or crossguard like a saber of light (and producing the same sound), it can still solidify for the sake of striking with extra force. Although effective, this makes the weapon subject to stressing and being shattered when sufficient force is applied. However, in the hands of a Raiton master, sufficient lightning chakra can always repair broken parts of the blade.

Handle Length: One foot.
Special: One of the fabled elementary swords of lore, Raijin no Ken has the unique ability to form an edge of pure lightning chakra. Now, as a concentrated construct of energy, Raijin no Ken possess unnatural cutting strength; easily capable of cleaving through the thickest steel and defenses, there is very little that can match the blade's unnatural sharpness. Raijin no Ken is also capable of "cutting" raiton based ninjutsu, thereby nullifying raiton aligned techniques (of s-rank and lower) - it also exceptionally fatal to doton based ninjutsu, allowing the user to bypass (cut) through most, if not all, earth based techniques (a-ranked and below). Furthermore, being lightning, those that come into contact with the blade itself run the risk of instant paralysis and intense electrocution (capable of killing an adult if remaining in contact with the "flat" side of the blade for more than two posts).

However, despite its energy base, Raijin no Ken can be "broken" (if struck by two a-rank techniques, or one s-rank technique). Fixing it is easy however, presuming the user is willing to sacrifice their chakra to do such (six different occasions of offering x2 High techniques; cannot be done in the same thread).
